It was Truman who yanked Douglas MacArthur's command because he had the authority to use atomic weapons on his own, without going through Truman; nevertheless, MacArthur wouldn't has done so without Truman's approval. Truman was too chickenshit to do so, he was scared of Stalin.

And he didn’t trust Chiang Kai Shek neither

I decided to take a large dose of STFU about two days ago and can report symptoms of autistic screeching have decreased substantially. Can recommend.

I have a small side thing doing IT/data shit for healthcare orgs. Have received orders today to spend my weekend sending the “shielding letters” that GPs are.... not sending because tbh SHTF and they have clinical work to be doing. Enter freelancer losers like me.

(If you need a shield letter and don’t think your GP is going to send you one, hmu and I can pass you a blank if you think it will help. I autistically worry about the welfare of my fellow internet hate site posters)

:stress: Holy hell That was pathetic. Pretends he didn't hear the question, asked to move on to ignore it, and even hanged up the call. Thats something you expect as a shitty punchline from a latenight show sketch making fun of someone, not a real person.

It's amazing to me how absolutely pants shittingly terrified the WHO seems to be of pissing off China. What exactly could China do to them that the USA could not do ten times worse. If these clowns keep sucking Xi Xinpings dick as the crisis deepens Americans are going to start demanding "accountability". The US pain train may not move quite as fast as the authoritarian dick weasels in China, but it's like comparing a sleek bullet train to a freight hauler. Once the US institutions decide to run you over it's absolutely unstoppable and takes a very long time to end.

Just ask FIFA what happens to an international institution that fears authoritarian dick weasels more then America. And that was over fucking sportsball, not something that is literally killing people.

I am not convinced about the ''mild symptoms'' claim. Many people without pre-existing disease and of a young age are developing Pneumonia and pleural effusion from the virus. They're hospitalized within just two days of their symptom onset unable to breathe.

My bet is most people with mild symptoms just carry on and not even get tested, let alone present at a hospital.

I don’t think this will be a major infection route. The risk mainly with flies is them walking /vomiting on food and the bacteria then multiplying in the food.
Thanks for that. Where I live we have lots of horses, lots of flys and more than a few honeybuckets on the back forty. I've started to see both them and the skeeters fire up and have been wary. I'll not stop being vigilant of course, but if the insects can stick to their usual vectors, I will be happy with that.

The USA might defund them. The CCP would murder them.

Can confirm.

Have you considered drugs, undiagnosed conditions and simple and plain stupidity? We got a lot of sportsmen that kill themselves due to excess excercice and undiagnosed conditions.

Only 5% of confirmed coronavirus patients are reaching the point of "serious" condition or worse. 95% of patients are in mild condition or asymptomatic.

It's like any other cold or flu, in that the vast majority will survive. Even Spanish flu only had a 5% fatality rate, the vast majority who caught it survived without issue, and that was a hyperactive chemically mutated virus.

Fun Fact: There were plans during the Chinese Civil War to secretly strengthen Taiwan before Chiang Kai-Shek withdrew back to that island. The idea was to deny it to both the CCP and KMT and install a much more favorable government without the batshit crazy of the KMT.
Chances of success were deemed too low, though, so this plan was dropped.
Another interesting sidenote: Mao Tsetung used to joke with Japanese ambassadors that he was grateful for the Imperial Japanese Army to invade China, since without their help, he'd never have managed to beat the KMT.

This article I came across has an interesting theory about unnecessary/unwarranted medical procedures. I use Flonase, which is a corticosteroid that can affect your immune system. Now imagine all the other drugs people are prescribed for minor and annoying conditions. I try to minimize my use of Flonase because I noticed it irritated my throat to the point I thought I had strep. Medications have side effects that aren't always discussed as do medical procedures. It's something to consider.

Now this is not true at all. It's pretty clear from the outset the WHO was in on the CCPs efforts to downplay the threat. Federal Prosecutors could use that to get very creative with US laws involving conspiracy, joint liability and our very, very broad laws about what constitutes foreign corrupt practices, murder/manslaughter, and so on.

The CCP may murder them in their sleep. But the USA WILL throw them in prison. And unlike the CCP the USA is certain to do that if it wants to do it, and also unlike the CCP it can and will get you no matter what country you flee too, unless you want to learn Russian. If I was these Chicom shills I would be far more circumspect with my loyalties. We haven't even gotten to the bad part. When that happens American Politicians will start doing what all politicians do. Look for scapegoats.

It's not all doom and gloom - here are some good news from France - Parisian rats trying to scurry to the countryside are being hunted down and get their heads smashed in / cars burned

☣Around 1 million Parisians left the city before the quarantine started. 20% of the population.
🔥 It raises concern as they could have carry the virus to the countryside, who was not contaminated yet. Turning this event into a mega-cluster.
✊🏻 Some groups of citizens formed to fight the Parisians, considered as invaders, as hipsters, metrosexuals and urbanites. Some have been assaulted. And cars with plates from Paris have been attacked or burned. In Brittany, a former terrorist group temporarily reformed to target Parisians.
📌 Context : In France, Parisians are hated. They are often seen as uprooted elites, hating the rest of France. The fact they are leaving their beloved ivory tower (Paris) to join the countryside with the risk of bringing the virus with them, is what caused the backlash.

Had a conversation with my neighbor last night, from over a fence. She's a physical therapist who works at a hospital, her studio was converted into a triage area at the start of all this. Her position has been converted over to something having to do with administering drugs and supplies.

We live in a place that's reporting a fair number of confirmed cases and the local media has been reporting about hospitals being overwhelmed. A quote that keeps coming up is doctors are fighting hard to keep this from becoming NYC.

The hospital she works at is a pretty good one. They have an ER, they have an ICU, they have a cardiac unit and a burn unit that can be used to treat coronavirus patients. The staff is excellent including a few people who are preeminent in their fields. The hospital converted over common areas for patient treatment, the first floor is filled with beds where there used to be chairs and waiting rooms. There are a couple National Guard guys stationed at the entrance, they just sit there all day while cars pass.

She's a little frustrated because her hospital has no coronavirus cases - literally they have not seen a single one.

The place could not be more prepared but no one is sick, the ER is just seeing normal Darwin-award activity and that's it. They have been doing tests on some people, the results come back negative or indicate the patient already had the virus and it went away. They are part of a hospital network and none of their hospitals are anywhere near capacity. Some of them have cases, but most of the people who come to the ER are sent home and told to isolate. There's only a few serious cases anywhere in the network and they are under control, it looks like the patients will get through this.

Yet the local news is talking about it like we're swimming in a sea of death. I told her about the videos from China, we both wondered why we're not seeing anything like that. We both believe there are people with the virus out there, we don't understand why there's such a difference between what the media is saying and what's actually happening.

Does anyone have any actual videos from US healthcare facilities becoming overwhelmed? Why are we not seeing images of places breaking down like in NY / LA / Washington State?

Really not good optics. How many of the "they had no underlying conditions" young people turned out to HAVE underlying conditions that had never been tested for? Things like heart problems. Or the breast cancer screening they mention. Yes, mammograms have a high false positive rate, and yes the follow up tests are more invasive. We do that because, if we dont, and something starts we dont catch early, it stands a decent chance of killing you. And yeah, ideally, a woman will receive many dozens of negative tests over her life, doesnt mean we should STOP testing because they are usually negative though.

Ideally, we should be getting a shitload of negative tests. That means the vast majority of those tested didnt have a problem. Doesnt mean they didnt display symptoms or risk factors though.

I will agree that there are some doctors that go overboard on medication. When I went to get my teatnus shot after cutting myself on some sharp metal, the doctor wanted to prescribe me 2 oral antibiotics AND give me one of those antibiotic arse-shots on top of simply cleaning the would and treating it with normal Neosporin. I refused on the basis of starting all these antibiotics before there is any known infection was more likely to simply fuck my gut up and assist in the creation of antibiotic resistant bacteria down the line.

They DO call it the practice of medicine, after all, but some really do need more practice.....

To add to that notion:

Filters degrade and break down over time, that means that old asbestos-filters will become insanely hazardous, once the fibres become loose and the membrane that keeps them inside becomes broken. In WW1, filters used 80% asbestos and a lot of people, that used them during the war, would die in the 20s. Even Soviet made filters with a lot less asbestos are an issue, since production quality of them is sketchy at best, so they might have less asbestos, but you can't trust that it would stay where it should, even when they were new. 30+ years later, and these fibres are going to be a huge problem.
And just to add some more fun to all this: Old Soviet-era filters are often painted with lead paint. It's not safe to handle them, it is outright moronic to use them.

Assuming you are a healthy guy between 20 and 55, any issue you can get from catching the WuFlu is far less severe, than what you will get when you use such an old filter with asbestos fibres being directly injected into your lungs with every breath. It will not take 50 years and it is not worth the risk.
Corona is not "just the flu bro", sure. But unless you are 70+ years old or have a severe sickness that makes you more vulnerable to Corona, using such a filter is -without the least bit of exaggeration- a level or retardation, that makes Chris look like Einstein.

No. No they are not and you are a complete moron for saying this.
If your choice in the current situation is between nothing and an asbestos filter, your best choice is to pick nothing. Hell, if your choice is between asbestos filters and drinking from a cup used by a known COVID-patient, you'd be better off picking the cup.

Corona is not Super-Ebola-Aids. It is nasty and it has killed (and will continue to kill) many people. However, assuming you are a healthy person, your chance of Corona going bad are about 20%, your chance of getting severely sick are like 5% and your chance of death is lower still. Your chance of fucking up your lungs are precisely 100% when you use an old asbestos filter. Full stop.
Can verify all of the asbestos sperges here. I had a close relative die of that cancer. A gun set to my head and given a choice that I has to either have corona chan or that shit- I would post myself licking toilet seats ASAP. I went to school in places with exposed asbestos wrapped pipes. The jock boys thought it was fun to jump up and hit them hard so puffs of dust came out. None of us need to risk asbestos these days, so don't.

It's time for this again-
