These parasites have friends in high places so after they're done squating on the corpse of Marvel till Fiege snatches it out to make pamphlets for his films, they'll go into some dumb Cable writers room, Maybe get that Netflix deal out of pity. Try the past two decades friend, if the industry dies it won't be because of the wokefad and idiots on Twitter.

This industry's been on life support for a long time, Marvel going bankrupt and being bought out by Disney in 09 should have been a huge wakeup call that something was wrong.

Marvel and DC's continued existence is sorely at the whims of their parent companies unlike Image and the others they don't need comic shops to survive.

I have said before that the problem is the structure of their industry and storytelling. Both mainline comic series run as eternal fucking soap-operas, subject to the whims and autism of not only editors and producers but hack writers and talentless storytellers who come in and out of the project over the years, thus necessitating regular reboots and retcons to maintain some semblance of a workable comic concept which serve to alienate ever more people from jumping in to this neverending shitshow.

You can have the best writers on the planet and the best artists in the industry work on something, have the editors and producers make sure any dumb autism gets edited out, and have total 100% fan goodwill and support from the getgo.....but sooner or later people are going to move onto other projects, get lazy, or stop caring, and then shit will steadily but inevitably degrade into trash that people dont even bother pirating.

And this is all before we factor in creators and industry people declaring jihad on the fans and pinning their hopes on the "new diverse demographics who were too scared to buy comics before" magic beans.

IMO if the industry is to survive then it needs to prune a solid 95% of its comics, from the big league "batman/spiderman" tier to the fucking "america chavez's menstradventures" tier shit, wrap the rest into one or two ongoing series, and occasionally crap out limited run series when there is a definite demand/interest a particular character or concept.

Hopefully they wont, hopefully they will just scream "EVERYTHING IS FINE!" and continue the tactic of making the laziest and most uninteresting shit imaginable while slapping a "MUH INSPIRATIONAL DIVERSITY" sticker on it to justify subsequent crusades against the smelly bigut nerdbros who hate it, and hopefully they will continue to spam shitty sub-tumblr comics to draw in those promised ethnics/homoqueers, and then i can witness these insufferable specimens go down screaming with their obsolete joke of an industry

The direct market LCS has been in a death spiral for years. The woke shit killed off a large number of subs outside of the true believer crowd.
The wu flu is going to be the final nail in the coffin for a lot of shops getting by on a month by month basis.
People have been screaming from the rooftops that LCS's are dying out for years now and at $4 per book on average it's a non-essential expense most people can't afford during uncertain economic times. The big 2 have done nothing to curb the death throws of a sick industry and now that a national disaster has struck it's too little too late. Loading shops with hundreds of unsellable issues each month to qualify for sellable variant covers only exacerbated the problem.

The people in the industry will know why the industry collapsed. The executives at least.

The infestations are allowed because bureaucracy protects them. Somebody makes the claim that "the gay and trans markets are huge!" Their CEO reports to his boss "We're finding new markets." The CEO then reports to shareholders.

The shareholders are primarily hedge fund managers with no idea about the industry or products. They just hear "new markets" and say "sounds good."

Basically you have artists hoodwinking business managers who then hoodwink finance guys.

The entire system of accountability has been corrupted and rendered impotent until the disaster is nearly over.
