What I meant was that we shouldn't stigmatize people if we see some self harming scars. They might be old and/or maybe the person has healed and doesn't want the scars being pointed out. Of course it's bad, but an entire arm being almost deformed due cutting is much more worrying that a few cuts here and there.
Frankly, Nan doesn't seem to be the brightest bulb in the box. Chloe at least tries to make her bullshit semi-plausible, while Nan makes up fantastical stories for attention without much thought on if they makes sense or not.Maybe I'm ignorant but this makes absolutely no fucking sense to me. She's talking like this personality existed before it was somehow put into her body? Is that anyone's experience of DID?

I haven't seen a lot of Nan because her baby/Peter Griffin voice annoys the hell out of me, but from what I've seen her alters all have the same mannerisms
I'd say it's very unlikely. She doesn't have any negative symptoms (apathy/social withdrawl), hallucinations (seeing/hearing/feeling things that aren't present in reality), or cognitive symptoms (disorganized speech, lowered IQ, decreased social cognition). Her explanation of DID, as well as her ghost and nonhuman "alters" could be considered as evidence of bizarre-type delusions, although it doesn't fit nicely into any of the commonly seen delusions/themes.
I knew Chloe during her time at Colchester Sixth Form. She went primarily by R and used they/them pronouns almost exclusively. A lot of people thought it stood for Rachel, and that's how a fair number of people knew her to the point where the name Chloe was confusing. She's gone by several names and in sixth form she changed them on a whim, sometimes going by R and other times by a blokes name (it was something obscenely troony, for sure, something along the lines of Finn and it stuck for 2 weeks at max). Her pronouns also occasionally changed. 
Who in their right fucking mind would read that and proceed to think "sounds like a totally sane woman who most definitely won't end up murdering me, I should swipe right"
Nothing says hot like dating 22 different people a few of which are minors. Also saying "some of us you could meet if you talk to us" sounds like a random encounter npc
Oh man, I've been waiting for this thread, she's been a joke between some people who knew her for a while now
She ran with a group of people who were very much into the whole SJW/LGBT/every mental illness under the sun schtick. She was incredibly quiet for the most part, "dated" (sort of, this was always a weird topic) an asexual transgender guy, and was very into her danger hair. I don't watch her videos enough to know how she styles it now but back then it was green and rather short. There were a few gay/lesbians who were pretty open about being into her, which I always found odd because it was also made EXTREMELY obvious that she was A Very Damaged Individual. They found that attractive, I suppose. I was never privy to exactly what happened but said asexual transgender bloke did inform me it was some sort of sexual abuse. No idea if it was real or not. Her parents were also homophobic, boo hoo.
R also made it clear at that time that she was bipolar on top of anxiety and PTSD. I can't remember if she mentioned whether these were professionally diagnosed or not (this was at the height of Tumblr self-disagnosis and bipolar was so fashionable at Colch that it seemed as though a girl in every ten had it). She did have a therapist and saw the college councillor a couple of times. It was one of the few things she talked animatedly about. She did become annoyed at the idea of self-diagnoses not being legitimate, I remember that clearly. She became incredibly irate.
I also remember her cutting in the bathroom. Lmao.
This channel was one of the friends she hung around with during college. I think (don't quote me on this) there was at some point a video on the channel with this girl and Chloe, but it's not there now. Either way she does comment in a few videos such as this one, which also includes the transgender guy she was then 'asexually dating'. I only knew she used the name Chloe because of the YouTube username.

Chloe herself probably wouldn't have brought DID up herself, but it was definitely discussed within the group of friends she had. Most of the time she was extremely quiet. I can't definitively say what her opinion was back then, but she was certainly one of those that believed everyone who said they had a mental illness of some variety.
As to the sexual abuse, I was never certain myself and I'm still not. The way she acted appeared as though she'd be inside herself a lot, thinking, and then she'd have moments of real normalcy when she'd be a rather nice person. Other times she came across very irate, and would snap at someone if the conversation turned heated. She ran off to cry a fair few times. For all intents and purposes she came across as severely damaged. There was no doubt in my mind that she had some form of reasonably serious mental illness, but as to there being rape or sexual abuse involved it was always hard to really know. The atmosphere within the group was "Don't question it, just nod and believe" and in hindsight that probably worked well for her. It was a group of yes-men. She didn't talk about it openly or explain, but she let it fester so people knew. No one wanted to be up front and offend. I'm sure she probably discussed it on her Tumblr at the time but even back then that shit was obnoxious as all fuck.
If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say something happened to her. Likelihood is that it's a massive web of different stories she's told different people and she's trying to minimise it. I'll have a look through her videos and see if anything comes to mind.
I'm sure her parents also made a living lynching the local negros and ate battered baby and chips on a Friday night. It must have been rough for her
