Actually as silly as it sounds when coming from an out of touch rich dude with more power than he should probably be trusted with, I'd argue that any kind of apocalyptic scenario
would cause a noticeable spike in females trading sex for money (goods, services, bottlecaps, whatever we're trading with). Not because women would immediately stumble over themselves and have no other choice, but specifically because more women would have that option open to them and most men wouldn't.
No one's going to trade food or clothing to sleep with Holden or CWC. Or, frankly, to sleep with most males, even during the end of days. Male sexuality traditionally just isn't viewed as a valuable commodity (supply is certainly readily available).
But for better or worse, if you're a passably attractive female, then there are people willing to pay to look at and/or touch you. Your presence and company can have an actual value attached to it. And when the chips are down, most humans will suck it up and do what it takes to survive another day.

@4Macie. That's not his ideal society. Not by a long stretch. Because a society that's crumbling so badly that women are starting to trade their bodies for food would be one where only valuable people could hope to survive. And in a wasteland that turned into a prostitution utopia, Holden would have zero value. He wouldn't be important enough to waste the resources on to let him
survive, let alone to expend creature comforts and luxuries on.
