Here is some more reeeeee to cheer us up. Not that I would mind an EU kickout.

Lol Nato kickout idea, as if US would want us to buy hyper expensive military tech from others. Nato nowdays is a good addition to US military complex profits.

Reeeeeesetera does not dissappoint.

Pfft, the EU ain't gonna kick Hungary out. Firstly, I don't think there's even a mechanism to do that. Second, doing so would cut Romania, Bulgaria and Greece off from the rest of the Schengen area. Not a smart move.

Get ready for some drama surrounding this...

Fuck the Prosperity Gospel, holy shit. Jesus literally said it’s easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter heaven and Prosperity Gospel chodes have twisted it into “Amassing material wealth is proof that you’re God’s chosen.”

Also fuck megachurches who squeeze out money from their parishioners every week so the pastor can buy a Mercedes and pay the mortgage on their multimillion dollar mansion.

This.

Last church I attended was a "megachurch". One Sunday the minister, a wealthy man, made a big deal about not being materialistic. Then later that week I was downtown in front of a coffee shop, and who do I see pulling his new Land Rover into the parking space in front? Yup, you guessed it - the minister.

This minister also gave a lot of sermons about adultery. My conclusion - adultery was a major problem in the congregation. Made me glad I didn't participate in any of the "small groups", etc. Just another reason I left.

Trump needs to be talking to Orban, not Xi.

Serious question: now have 75% of America is under stay-at-home orders, what is the death rate of the virus going to be compared to what it would have been naturally? Are we really losing more people or perhaps cutting down on deaths because stupid people aren't out doing stupid things?

Something tells me we are going to experience less death net while this runs it's course. That's actually a good argument for a strongman leader, someone who can just direct aimless people towards goals that serve the state.

Sometimes NGOs purposefully lie to discourage behaviors that harm society as a whole.

The WHO is a global organization and most of the globe does not have face masks and respirators. Giving these people a glimmer of hope is not a bad thing.

But yeah, they are absolutely lying. The difference here is we know it.

What's the difference between this guy saying vaccines are bad and the WHO saying facemasks are bad?

We're living in times where we need to be very skeptical of what people are saying. None of it makes sense.

There’s a difference between being skeptical and telling people that “globalists” want to kill them by injecting them with vaccines.

Also, there’s really no excuse for being anti-vaxx considering that decades of research and practice have proven the effectiveness of vaccines and they go through rigorous testing to prove their safety. But because of anti-vaxxers, diseases that should have been eradicated (like measles) are making a comeback.

Nah not unless Putin gives him 50 tzar bombs lol .

Now this ree is also antisemitic. Israel is ruled by Hitler! Bloomberg , do not strike at yourself.
Bloomberg's antisemitic contents gets even better: Baruch Feldheim tries to sell masks at inflated prices, coofs on FBI agents, gets arrested. (archive)

Coronavirus is mutating and now has eight strains: doctors

Did someone post this and I missed it. I didnt have enough coffee yesterday. At least none are worse than the main branch.

Moscow will enact a citywide quarantine starting Monday, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said as the city's number of coronavirus cases surpassed 1,000 over the weekend.

Moscow going down.

Coronavirus In The St. Louis Region

Other notes from Parson’s daily briefing: He is considering closing state parks because of overcrowding. Warm weather over the weekend sent people flocking to nature to escape home confines. But having so many people in parks clogged parking lots and trails, making mandated social distancing difficult.

Aw shit, 8. Im excited to hear about scientific reports on this but not excited if they have to have one vaccine each.

WHO: Don’t Wear Face Masks

Don’t wear face masks to fend off the coronavirus, the World Health Organization says.
"There is no specific evidence to suggest that the wearing of masks by the mass population has any potential benefit. In fact, there's some evidence to suggest the opposite in the misuse of wearing a mask properly or fitting it properly," WHO executive director of health emergencies Mike Ryan said Monday.
God why cant they just say "Hospitals and healthcare workers need them more since they have a much higher chance of being affected by the virus" instead of this exceptional shit goddamn 🎩

Sensing the time of humans is coming to a close and the age of the goat is dawning, mountain goats have started to roam the streets in Wales

I for one welcome our new goat overlords 👏

Why would anyone care about stupid people dying other than lols?
There was a reason the Darwin Awards were invented in '93.
The only reason people care about anti vaxxers is because they harm others with their stupidity. They can choose not to get vaccinated, but they make the choice to also screw their children out of one (who dont deserve to suffer for their parents dumbassery, just their own). Even if you hope their kids dying teaches em a lesson in a sad case of MaTI, one of the nice things about vaccines is they provide herd immunity and help protect vunerable people with conditions like cystic fibrosis and our 50+ population. Basically, itd be nice if the rest of us didnt suffer for their retařded choices.

Cause it also affects other people unaffiliated with this garbage. There's always someone who can't be vaccinated, hasn't yet been vaccinated or has had an issue that makes him more prone to become sick, even if he was vaccinated.

Anti-Vaxxers are a vector through which sicknesses can spread and reach those, that aren't protected. Otherwise, I would not give a single shit about them. Same as idiots in Africa, that drink poison cause their batshit insane pastor told them it would be a great idea. Same as people, who drink bleach or take MMS and similar stuff.
But the moment it affects kids that can't decide for themselves or others, that didn't choose to be buttfucking insane conspiritards, funtime stops.

Lol knock yourself out with those "negative" ratings. Beer is for faggots, like you, if that's all you can afford. Straight up Wild Turkey.
Hey I like beer. The fact that I'm a faggot is totally a coincidence.

Actually that was just the joke I wanted to tell. I agree with you. But it has to be ice cold vodka, not tarnished with mix-ins or ice. Also I swear it's just a coincidence that I'm a faggot.

The amount of tantrums and denials most RWers and Libertarians are throwing is hilarious yet worrisome. I think they just can't get over the fact Trump changed his mind about his initial reaction to this (hence, admitting he was wrong), combined with how they can't stand the idea of the government telling them what to do as though that's bad by default.

They're honestly acting like teenagers whose parents are telling them to no go out at night. They can't just sit one moment to think "hey, maybe dad isn't some authoritarian lunatic, maybe he worries about me", except they can't grasp the notion that sometimes, the government needs to control a situation by telling people "do/nt this or hundreds could die".

If anybody thinks our current cultural or political wars have affected only the Left, this is proof enough they've also damaged the Right. If the Governmetn says "stay home", then it's probably some conspiracy to make the economy crash and make Trump bad, also, it's entirely about removing people's liberties because if the government says, then it means it has to be a lie. Truly, the people dying on the streets in Ecuador are on the joke, too.

I mean, I personally wouldn't mind what ideologists do, but we're talking about how hundreds of people could die because some moron who can't stand being told "stay home" left his house to prove everybody that things are normal. Things won't be normal again in a while. Deal with it.

LOL "some flights" are cancelled? Has anyone here actually been to New York?

Many flights are still flying, albeit empty. The reason being? Landing slots. Read an interesting article on this. Every airport has X number of landing slots in a given day. They are allocated to each airline on a "use 'em or lose'em" basis. The airlines have requested this restriction be lifted for the time being, but I I haven't seen anything concrete that says it has. It should be.

So, some airlines are flying empty flights in the meantime to ensure they keep their most profitable routes and landing slots.

Personally, I live near the flight path for Phoenix Sky Harbor airport. Just saw two airliners take off. However, I have noticed incoming flights over the past week (pass right over my home) are GREATLY reduced. What was a flight passing overhead every five minutes is now less than one or two an hour.

The air traffic has slowed immensely. It's still there, have no idea who's on those planes, but it's a pittance of what it normally is. A friend who's a manager of the biggest food court at Sky Harbor said the airport itself is a ghost town. He got layed off this week and they shuttered the food court completely.

It's going to be awhile before any of this returns to normal, if ever.

No, shit. However there's no vaccine for WuFlu currently so at best this is early nothing.

See above.

Did the Megathread get merged with the 'anti-vaxxers are dumb' thread?

UK Daily:

143,186 Tested (+8270)

25,150 Positive (+3009)

1,789 Dead (+381)

The Nightingale Hospitals are nearly complete. Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre is also getting its area turned over to some 5,000 bed temporary hospital. This will make it the third largest hospital on the planet.

The UK's hotspots are:

London, Slough, Sheffield, Birmingham and Derby.

It's weird the way Hollywood celebs are mostly not Christian, particularly the left-wing ones. They cobble together some sort of 'Me-ism' out of eastern religions, Kabbalah and new-age flapdoodle. And yet, despite being post-Christian, they've managed to keep one of the most irritating parts of American Christianity i.e. very rich people telling everyone else to not be materialistic while they drive nicer cars and live in nicer houses than the average peasant. In fact, with celebs it's even worse. It's supercars, private jets and mansions instead of a somewhat nicer house and a new Land Rover. But I fear I'm jerking the circle here.

Also in Corona related news Dave Jones of Eevblog pointed out that Medtronics lied when they said they'd open source their ventilator design. They released a PDF schematic and a service manual. Not PCB schematics you can import into a CAD package, CAD files to build the turbine, no software at all, not even a binary. So it's not something you could send to a factory and get them to build. I.e. it was all basically a marketing stunt that the fucking idiots at Techcrunch completely fell for (Archive) without either fact-checking it themselves (fat chance) or finding someone who could fact check it.

I bet some other company will open-source a ventilator design for real, and they'll quite rightly get the kudos for it. And, as people pointed out previously, all these monkey-model ventilators are going in the trash once the current crisis is over and people will go back to buying the real ones because once the crisis ends liability will be an issue if you don't use the right kit. So it's not like open-sourcing a ventilator is going to affect your business in the long run.

Just to add another anecdote, I live near an airport whose take off routes are kind of above the house. Modest sized city, pretty typical international airport that primarily hubs to the bigger international hubs. I still see planes taking off most times I go outside. Granted I'm not actively observing it but even in the smaller international airports the routes are still running.

Sometimes flights have cargo that needs to go without waiting for UPS and FedEx to fill up their planes. I agree with you on the slots being used as the airports want their fees and would not be happy to have the airlines stop flying.

Slight powerlevel, but my kid is supposed to get a scan at the hospital, so they wanted him tested for Cornoavirus. We scheduled it yesterday, got him testing this morning, and should have the results back between 24 and 48 hours. You may have seen the diagram where there have the scary looking probe in the dude's nose but the test itself took about 2 seconds. It was very easy.

In other news, my wife's friend is working at an doctor's office which is getting one of those Abbott test machines that tests people in 5 minutes, so they're opening back up for appointments soon. Hopefully more of those machines get rolled out soon.

I went on the conspiracy subreddit and oh boy. They have gone full stupid. They're convinced the virus is a fake news propaganda machine, that hospitals are actually empty and in some cases, the virus doesn't even exist! I've always had a love hate relationship with conspiracy theory online discussion but fuck man, they give media outlets and the medical field too much credit for their organizational skills.

he number of confirmed coronavirus cases worldwide has reached 800,000
