That's a really interesting table - it shows clearly that numbers cannot be compared across countries, due to vastly different reporting standards. China is obviously trying some way to profit from this, because their economy is boned. These are the acts of a desperate, untruthful nation, trying to peacock its way back into "superiority."

They are trying to gaslight the entire world into believing that they're swooping in to save the world from this. So far, it's not working ... Because their sweatshop medical supplies are fucking garbage and unusable. A handful of nations have had to send their crap back, which I think has become the straw that's finally broke the camel's back. Worldwide public opinion is just getting started with turning on China; I imagine it will only get worse for them the longer this pandemic goes on.

That said, will the world forget what China has done once we're all back to normal and out of quarantine? I hope not. I doubt Trump will, at least. He's already telling China "fuck you" by basically siding with Taiwan this past week.

Didn't someone earlier in the thread point out that most people sick enough to need a ventilator will die?

That's how the bell curve works. It takes a while past the point where admissions roll back to lower the dead count. England seems to have flattened the curve better than most but next few days will be critical anyway, both due to higher deaths and due to the possibility of healthcare collapse, because less admissions doesn't mean you're safe unless you can start pushing recoveries out the door.

At this point Nationalism has risen like a wildfire everywhere and pretty much everyone outside of (((((their group))))) hates china. It'll never be back to normal. You can even see it on TV here in spain every big biz with chink factories is running image cleansing campaign while plastering shit about how good spain is anf that's why you gotta support them 'cause they totes spanish meanwhile social media grabs those messages, points to the factories, and fills the answers to recomendations to actual local businesses (mostly PYMEs), our economy is shifting drastically to small local businesses, that's just how this ends, and spain had it much harder than anyone due to our import/export focused economy and horrid anti-small-business laws (specially taxes.)
