Hansen does seem like he was way out of his element when he went after Onision. Hansen built his career on ambushing people. He'd lure people, who never had any public exposure whatsoever, into a strange house with the promise of underage pussy. Then he'd pop out of the shadows and say "Why don't you have a seat over there?"

Where he fucked up is he went after a guy who had heard it all and telegraphed every one on his moves. Now had Hansen made every girl he interviewed sign an NDA and used the footage he got thereafter to make a documentary describing their allegations against Onision, he probably would have out on top. But instead he chose to live stream every one of his interviews with Onision's accusers. He might have been thinking it would a good way to build up his audience. But again, Hansen's forte is ambush interviews against starry eyed perverts and he was dreadfully out of his element by playing the long game against someone who had spent years wallowing in internet drama and liking it.

I think the biggest letdown of the whole drama around Onision, for me, has been seeing Hansen perform so poorly. He used to seem so good at what he did, and I think a lot of people like me were genuinely excited to watch him ask Onion Bum to have a seat. Now he's cucked up the investigation on the legal side, done some sketch things, and more or less become responsible for the escape of a malignant predator that we all almost had dead to rights. It's extremely disappointing.

Hansen has always been extremely incompetent. The only reason original TCAP wasn't shit was because of the ridiculous amounts of money and production value NBC had to offer. He is and has always been nothing more than a host of a show. The fact that he is trying to recreate what one of the largest television networks put out to pasture is comical.
