Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

It is a lot easier to forgive a fuck-up that springs from good intentions than a spiteful clusterfuck. That is simple human nature, but as the Soothsayer Ya Boi would say, "SJWs don't human very well." These shills are either paid to ignore, or simply can't understand that the Disney films are the cinema equivalent of a jilted ex shitting in your mailbox and setting your car on fire, versus the burned birthday cake and apology blowjob of the Prequels. Folks were already coming around by the time of Sith, for fuck's sake.

I don't know if anyone will ever forgive or forget what JJ and Ruin did.
I still struggle to forgive Dave Filoni and Henry Gilroy sometimes for Filoni Wars and to a lesser extent Rebels.

The entertainment industry is about to find that when consumers can't afford to mindlessly consoom anymore, the market naturally defaults to that pesky thing they've been struggling to forgo for the better part of this last decade: quality-driven competition.
MovieBob will be depressed by this.

I stumbled across this.

This is precisely the article I'd expect from ScreenRant, considering that this is the same shithouse website that published the whole "No, The Prequels Aren't Better Than The Sequels" article a couple of months back. They are bending themselves like living pretzels to cope with the fact that nobody likes their garbage Disney Trilogy.

Reminds me of when the shills at Collider threw a fit on YouTube when they held a poll for their readerbase to rank the Star Wars films, and Episode III came in at No. 3 behind ANH and ESB, outpacing all of the Sequel Films. One of them even called it "disrespectful." Fucking wagons of salt.

Rex actually makes some level of sense because of the mandalorian/clone connection (I refuse to recognize the retcon that the Fetts weren’t Mandalorian. I’ve always interpreted that one line from the episode as the Minister pulling a No True Scotsman fallacy.
I’m sorry, what the fuck did they retcon? How the fuck can the Mandalorian not be a Mandalorian?

There's an episode of Filoni Wars where a Mandalorian official brushes off Obi-Wan's inquiries about Jango Fett by claiming that Fett wasn't a real Mandalorian.
Was that more of a he isn’t descended from the Mandalorians or he’s been outcasted from the Mandalorians? I could see the later as a political move to keep Mandalore out of the war.

And if I recall, Jango was part of a distinct group of Mandalorians, possibly separate from the majority of Mandalorians.

It's ambiguous.

Filoni's "New Mandalorian" faction wanted to separate themselves from all of the Mandalorian warrior traditions, which would include Jaster's/Jango's "True Mandalorian" honorable mercenary ethos unless Open Seasons doesn't exist in Wolfman Dave's increasingly difficult-to-escape headcanon...

By how much I post in the Star Trek thread you guys might think I am not into Star Wars... But it's actually the opposite.
I have been a Trekkie for less than a year as of now (new fan of that franchise), and when I joined this site I was actually more into Star Wars.

...yet Disney was really good at killing my interest in Star Wars. I only pop up here to read those great posts of all the regulars here like @GeneralFriendliness.

I liked the Mandalorian, but overall there is just this emptiness inside me. I haven't even watched episode 9 yet. Not because I can't but because my love for this franchise transformed into indifference.

I still have hope things will get better, but after they turned all my heroes into failures, after enduring that disappointment, I'm having trouble getting attached to this franchise at all.

I've never seen any of the sequel trilogy (don't really care enough to see it), but I recently saw the trailer for Rise of Skywalker. That one lady I saw in the Force Awakens trailer leaps over a TIE fighter (reminded me of jumping the shark), and there seems to be some kind of scene where a bunch of Star Destroyers are in some kind of gloomy atmosphere. The original and prequel trilogies seem more realistic. Point is, even from the trailers alone (what's supposed to entice you to see the movie) and from a fairly neutral viewpoint, one can still tell RoS seems to suck.

"Seems to", you don't need to have seen a single Star Wars movie to know a movie where the bad guys are launched like circus clowns at the heroes, to which the heroes reply THEY FLY NOW, and is not a comedy, is going to be a godawful train wreck.

So it is a political move. Good, I thought Disney had decided to shit on the legacy of another character.

They haven’t “re-canonized” anything about the “True Mandalorians” in the DU, so all of that falls under the old EU. Don’t worry, eventually they’ll have some YA author formally buttfuck that piece of EU trivia.
