Didn't the Spanish Flu start in China, just like this flu? Seeing that "started in America" bullshit in that article title tells me that Smithsonian may be engaging in a little bit of revisionism.

No it didn't. There's no consensus on where the Spanish Flu originated from. We will never know at this point.
Spanish Flu is commonly believed to originate from America, however it does trace to China and Russia. Stating as a fact that the flu originated in anywhere is imprecise, or just downright lying.

Why would anyone trust historians on this stuff though? It may as well originated from China, Russia, or America, or whatever. I really don't think it actually matters at this point. Are we going to hold the origin accountable? Most countries have done close to nothing to prevent the virus after China started going through lock downs and shit.
Temperatures weren't tested at airports. Travellers from hotspots of the virus weren't profiled. When it was just a dozen cases, the media were quick to race bait and claim it's nothing, just look at the posts before it actually blew up. People calling it a nothing burger etc, nothing to fear about, while most active posters here have been saying "actually, it's not nothing, go buy food when you can".
This holding the origin accountable argument won't work on gun control, it doesn't work on anything.
Coronachan originated from Wuhan, China, and yet most of the developed world have been retarded at handling it, making authoritarian states such as China and Singapore look like geniuses. That's not a compliment, Wuhan were shit but somehow many western countries managed to be shittier.
Just when the virus blew up, I saw numerous videos of the "love not hate" type, featuring cockroaches from the shithole that is NYC running out of the city and going to some rural area, or metropolitan area that's not as populated. NYC has about 9 million residents, Wuhan has 12-13 million, yet the numbers are beyond fucked up. These rural places have worse health insurance and medical equipment, yet they are being swarmed by selfish loaded city cunts. Let's not forget that 1 in 20 or 30 NYCer is a millionaire.

Hubei is one of the provinces that is connected to the most provinces in China, many which feature their own super city, characterised by 10 million+ residents.
NYC is in a fucking corner. It's like Shanghai. Easily locked down, easily contained. Hubei is like Nebraska or Colorado geographically, comparatively Hubei is worse, Wuhan is a blue collar supercity, 50%+ residents come from outside cities and go home during CNY, when Coronachan starting spreading. Nebraska and Colorado doesn't have major cities.
Can you imagine NYC being in the middle of America? Thank God it isn't though.
At this point, WHO might as well be considered credible in their China butt licking. Actions were taken when there's around 200 cases in China, we were still being fed race baiting trash non-stories and don't panic buy news when the virus was at 1000+ fucking locally.
Yeah, according to my
timeline, Wuhan could have been locked down at least one week prior to reality. This would only suppress the spread within China. Coronachan would have arrived no matter what measures China took. Even if China nuked Wuhan, or a meteor landed on Asia turning the entire continent into scorched land (hey, at least there won't be any gay anime anymore), the incubation period of the virus means that it will reach various places no matter what, and it will be up to our representatives, our media and politicians to handle it.
Statistically and mathematically, also logically, we suck. Don't like China, then compare to Singapore, or South Korea, or Taiwan, who took similar measures to China. The people in charge should be held accountable, as well as the trashy MSM. "But the virus came from China" is no excuse for politicians being useless and the MSM not informing anyone.
This is shameful and pathetic. 400+ pages ago, I stated that "Chinese in the west running back to China are retarded. The western world has better medical supplies and far more medical professionals per capita, why run into some hotspot where hospitals are being overloaded, and sometimes corpses aren't even being processed efficiently?"

NYC should just become their own state at this point. The rest of the state of NY are republican, yet the entire state is being based on how a shithole city votes. Make NYC a state, and allow other states to bar off NYC from travel. Director of Wuhan's health department doesn't even have a medical degree. Director of Hebei's and Shanghai's had PhDs in virology, experts with experience in the field of medicine and had first hand experience with SARS, which originated from Guangdong or HK, a rather easy place to lockup.
Wuhan is basically WHO, and both are extremely corrupt, very useless.
