Jesus christ. I've found Venus annoying and attention seeking at times - I'm not a fan. But this is someone bearing their soul about a very serious issue and openly admitting to their flaws and mistakes.

As someone that claims to have had an eating disorder, it's absolutely disgraceful to see her behave like this towards someone suffering. Where the fuck is the empathy? For anyone who hasn't kept up with Venus's threads, Venus Angelic is a lolita YouTuber who, in 2016, ran away from her horribly abusive bitch of a mother. Margaret, her mother, had been emotionally abusing her basically since birth and had treated her as a doll rather than her (Margaret's) daughter. This abuse also manifested in a very dangerous eating disorder for Venus, who had been infused with a pathological fear of being fat by her mother since she was a little girl.

A while later, Venus almost died after a quack doctor performed weight loss surgery on her. Note: Venus was, if anything, underweight, (but suffered from body dysmorphia that made her think she was obese) and she went to dozens of doctors before finding one corrupt enough to take her money and do the surgery. The surgery involved sewing shut a portion of her stomach to make it smaller and removing 120 cm of her intestines. After the surgery, she constantly threw up and lost even more weight. Eventually, the stitches in her stomach collapsed and she was unable to take in food or water, necessitating an emergency surgery to save her life.

So yeah, just to really hammer it in again, Anisa made fun of the victim of child abuse who developed an eating disorder because of her abuse, a disorder which nearly killed her. And she made fun of Venus on the video where Venus discloses all of this and even provides pictures of her ordeal. Fuck Anisa.

For someone who faked being anorexic she sure is very shocked to see an actual anorexic person.

Yeah, you don’t have to be one of Venus’s fans to empathize with her struggles and tragic circumstances. I wouldn’t call myself a fan of Venus, but I do admire her for trying to heal from her trauma and being open about it with her followers. It’s really important that people are aware of how much abuse and mental illness can ruin someone’s life. Like, in the video Anisa was reacting to, Venus was being very open about her ordeal and how her eating disorder almost killed her. I don’t think it was for attention, I think she was genuinely trying to warn her followers about the dangers of not getting help for your mental illness.

So yeah, you’d think Anisa would be more sympathetic instead of acting grossed out and making fun of the way Venus talks and looks.
