Two 8-month-old pit bulls that were loose in Nanaimo attacked several children, severely injuring at least one. Other people that came to aid the children were also injured.

The children were playing in a yard at the house of one of their friends. The dogs were from somewhere else in the neighborhood and had been cited for being at large previously.

One of the owners of the dogs came and got the dogs but did not stick around. The news interviewed the other owner, a Dangerhair that looked to be in her late 40s or early 50s. While she was devastated at what her dogs had done, she said to the reporter, "People are saying, look at this from the prospective of a parent, well, these dogs are my kids, too," and then she broke down crying.

It was later reported both dogs were euthanized, as there have been other incidents prior to this one, and due to the severity of the injuries the one particular child sustained.

To the dangerhair dog owner I would have to say, "If these dogs were your KIDS, you did a lousy job of raising them. Thank heavens you didn't spawn any of your own."

bully type and bully mix are common in shelter also they have a poor reputation go figure. I don't like the dodo not because of the ''pitbull'' but because it just focus on the cutensess rather than logic. Ex: I'm still traumatised be one of the dodo video; it was a morbidely obese cat that struggled. The video claimed the cat was 'heatlhy'
Did the cat video have a lot of shitty 'Oh Lawd he comin'- type comments and people attacking those in the comments that said that overfeeding it was unhealthy? 'Cause I wouldn't be surprised if there was.

One of the houses near me appears to have recently gotten a new dog. Alas, it seems to be the pitbull type. I was walking down my normal route, and it was sitting on their porch, staring straight at me, growling and barking. I did not trust that it was secured with a lead, and it was a full grown one too. The neighbors look to be some kind of lower income people, so I would not be surprised if it was, and I would just as much not surprised if it still had it's balls on it or if the owner wants to use it for breeding.

people were actually fighting over the accuracy of the claim. Those who defended it said the veteranary said it so it true.
Other stuff that bother me, are the so famous''rescue'' of wild animal that are treated like pet afterward
Like were do they came from?
Aren't they supposed to be released once they nursed back to health?

The only provocation a pitbull needs to attack is for you to exist and be at its reach.

Here is a pitbull attacking a little girl, goes for her like a heat seeking missile and jumps to bite at her face, ( mercifully misses and bites her coat by the scruff of her neck) It took the assistance of five adults to get the fucking beast off of her.

Anyone who defends these shit animals or think they are "little angels" are delusional. Pitbulls were bread for bloodsports. Their aggressiveness and near psychopathy is not some freak behavior. Ever heard the fable of the Frog and the Scorpion? Same principle, it is their nature.

If that were my child or dog in those videos it'd take an entire police force to keep me away from those dogs owners.

I take solace in the fact that the people most in danger of these animals are their owners.

Actually, its the children of the owners who are most at risk. Just look at how many of these news reports are "Child attacked/killed by family Shit Bull".

The happy ending to this story would be if the shitbull was taken to a shelter that was at overcapacity and did not have a no-kill policy in place.

I already had a low opinion of these animals from following this thread, but now even more so since one of them violently lunged at me when I was out cycling on one of the local bike paths a few weeks ago. The shitbull seemed perfectly well-behaved and in good temperament, but the moment I rode past it, the animal just snapped and went berserk. Fortunately the man who owned the shitbull was strong enough to hold it back and keep it from running me down. Many people use the bike paths to walk their dogs, and until that incident, I had never seen any dog out there attempt to attack anyone else, whether cyclist or pedestrian. The worst that usually ever happens is an inquisitive dog might lean out towards a passing cyclist and force the cyclist to swerve to avoid a collision, but nothing like a violent attack.

that bite took off a huge chunk of his face.

this is another beloved dog that never showed aggression before.

And just like that, in the blink of an eye, face disfigured forever for putting his mug that close to the murderdog he bought to compensate for his tiny penis. But as @Coldgrip said, better him than some innocent kid or senior citizen.

It is videos like this that reinforce my belief that this breed of dogs are born with what in humans would be considered psychopathic personality disorders. It has to be the explanations as to why these animals are so irrationally aggressive, even if well cared and disciplined. One day pitbulls simply snap and murder your entire family for shits and giggles.

If there were such a thing as canine sociopathy, their behavior would fit the bill. In dogs, shows of submission (like exposing the belly) usually stops a fight between dogs, with fighting dogs they just eviscerate the other dog in response. Its weird.

pits also tend to not even seem upset when they attack, just excited like most dogs are during a vigorous game of fetch. That's how dog fighters justify what they do, they believe the dogs love to fight, and to be fair it looks like that on a superficial level. They might be living a really tortured existence, hard to say. in any case it is behavior that is incompatible with dog or human societies.

They should have strict criminal liability for shitbull attacks. If you have one of these things and it attacks someone, you go to jail.

This is true. Pardon my PL, but in my old neighborhood there was an issue with a pit on the loose a few years ago. The pit tore through the area for a full week killing whatever it caught. Not hunting and killing for food, just ripping other animals to shreds. I came home to dead birds, fledglings, squirrels, and rabbits more than once. If their insides weren't stretched across my lawn then it would be on a neighbor's lawn. When checking my security camera footage to see if the owner was anywhere in sight (the dog had a collar and no tags), I witnessed the murder machine tossing around terrified and wailing animals as if they were fun little toys. I can't think of any other way to describe it, the dog was thrilled as if it had a new frisbee or tennis ball. Except instead of a toy it was always a small animal crying out as it was killed for nothing.

I called animal control each time I came home to guts on my lawn, and my calls rang through to voice mail every single time. I informed them that there are a lot of elderly folks and young families with kids in the neighborhood, and that many local students visit the area to jog and walk their dogs because the neighborhood is normally very peaceful. I never got a call back. The neighbors didn't get a response, either. On the final day, a little girl down the road watched her elderly golden retriever get ripped to pieces. The pit jumped over their privacy fence to get to the poor old dog. The girl's dad didn't hesitate, and shot the pit multiple times. Good riddance.

Behold the latest from the ghetto and trailer park industries biological experiments division.
"I got a pitbull puppy and got this mutant wienerpit" is a just punishment. Frankly, pitbull apologists should be proud of her and her dog--she's still "saving" a pit and without its full body can be "gentle" with children.

I've read a lot of wretched stuff on this thread but the bored insouciance from animal control in that scenario is pretty much up there with mauled children. I'm glad that pit was put down, it most likely would have attacked the girl next.

That is just a gut wrenching mental image.

And ofc the shitbulls went at the people too. Just put down these owners. If we put down all the owners the demand would disappear.

I really wish there was a study on this as I find this aspect the most disturbing thing about these dogs. Don't shitbull owners ever wonder fucking why??? It's just downright creepy. Like a human version of someone who kills just out of curiosity and doesn't feel a thing afterwards. I've got to believe there are other animals on the planet that do this but am having a hard fucking time thinking of one.

Even mother animals that eat their damn babies (Hamsters for example) have some kind of reason behind it. A study found that mother animals that eat their young would more likely eat some of her own babies if they birthed a large litter. However, if it was small, manageable litter for the mother she would be less likely to eat any of her babies as she would have enough resources for them and herself to survive. Point is, this explaination actually makes this degenerate act less horrific and puts it into perspective.
When we don't have a reason for a pitbull one day just snapping, it's makes this all the more scarier. And I get that it was bred as a fighting dog - it's still weird though for it to one day attack its own family for no reason and be happy about it afterwards. I guess we're putting too much human thought into the equation though to think a pitbull would think, "Omg...what have I done...I bit my masters fucking face off...I'm a monster!"

Instead they always look like this:

I mean, I've heard plenty of stories about dogs and cats mourning owners to sometimes extreme degrees, but I don't think I've heard about a pitbull mourning the loss of its owners, no. They're probably so inbred they don't have the emotional intelligence for it.
