Ya Boi has said he initially wanted to pursue the lawsuit for exactly that. To discourage shitty future behavior by Waid and his ilk, but his lawyer disabused him of that notion. He said you aren't going to change a 50 year olds shitty baby behavior, all you can do is attach a monetary value to it, and move the hell on with your life. I went through a few vids, but I don't have all night to find the exact quote/timestamp, but it's out there.

Aw. Well, here's hoping for a 'why not both?' situation, then.

I knew Waid was a lost cause, but I hoped that attaching an emotional as well as financial burden to his assholery would help make it sting more.

It would certainly be more entertaining for us.

I'm with you, but like he said here it's Horse trading. I initially thought this was the Vid where he said it, but I'm not an autistic digger, I'm just going from what I remember from a year ago

In my earlier post I was trying to think what his settlement requirements are, and he basically says it. Admit to all of it, and pay me a nominal amount of money that covers my attorneys fees and we are good. So yea, 200k and admission to TI and Defamation. There you go Waid.

He drew this thing out for almost a year already, Hell the Trial is scheduled for April of 2021 FFS. Discovery set for when? July or August of 2020? I'm tempted to kick Ya Boi $100 to his GFM because I just want to see this shit play out. The 44 mil value was cited earlier in the thread, but much of that judgment was mostly attorney fees on a case that went all the way to SCOTUS.

Lawsuits like shit don't get better with age. Especially when you are caught dead to rights like Waid is. He might be able to weasel out of the defamation but its absolutely impossible for him to dodge the TI. More importantly though the TI is where the actual provable monetary damages are anyway. Its hard to say how much money Meyer lost due to Waid calling him a white supremacist on twitter and at conventions, but its very easy to show how much damage shit canning the AP deal caused. Just based on the volume of sales of the recent comic books a 500k judgement on TI is the absolute floor IMO.

I highly doubt that would happen as the folks that are behind Meyer are vast in number and he's making solid bank off his comics that are getting better and better. All Meyer has to do is go on a few live streams with @FROG and company and thousands will pour in like sweet sweet bloodhoney.

I agree with you, but I wasn't saying what was likely to occur just what Weid is trying to do.

The man knows he cannot possibly win at trial, his only hope is to make the process to painful to get to trial.

How the fuck am I supposed to know what he meant? My best guess is that he meant that Waid is just so deeply fucked that his only option is to burn as much money to delay this from seeing a day in Court for as long as Humanly Possible, and maybe he exhausts Ya Boi's cash and patience and he drops the case.

If he hasn't already, I'm sure among Meyer's evidence is Waid's statements from Comicpalozza 2018 (preferably audio/video of Waid making the statements).
