There is some serious spook shit going on here. Those are guys in military BDUs escorting what is clearly a malnourished patient, not a COVID-19 victim. What the fuck?
Think about it. All the stuff for the past four years about securing the border, stopping human trafficking, the weird military intelligence planes circling cities years ago, the DOD training troops to fight underground, and then there are all these alleged reports of seismic activity in the vicinity of supposed locations of Deep Underground Military Bases.
The US Navy has fully armed combat personnel serving on every boat. They're called Marines. Something is amiss here? Well yes, its NYC. The US Military is usually more competent than their civilian counterparts in this kind of scenario. And the only cover the pandemic is being used for is having the populace stripped of our rights, not some wacky Q larp. Really, you should know better.

Remember back in the 80s when you or your friends were forced into the army and even before then were told which job you were going to have based on the needs of Reagan's America? And back in the 80s no one ever mocked the president on television, movies, and especially not in music. And at the end of every work week, you were coerced into spending your money on war bonds, by your boss on the same day as pay day, with checks right there ready for you to sign so everyone could see how much you were going to give to help the US every week.
And then at the end of the workday you had to till in your garden and donate the food to the government as well as give the government any crafts you made after work, and people would publicly shame you like you were a Nazi fi you dared not to do crafting or gardening for free for the government.

State and local health infrastructure appears to be holding up alright so far. One of the older ladies in my circle of acquaintances keeps herself busy by doing a lot of seamstress work for friends and clients, and I had the chance to put a bug in her ear about making her own masks. I sent her some of the resources from this thread - you weirdos really are doing genuine good by collecting this stuff - and she's going to get working on producing some for local services who will take them.
In local scuttlebutt, the legal and legal-adjacent professions have been hit hard. Anyone and everyone who is involved in any legal proceedings has been trying to delay and extend and continue as much as possible. I'd bet that nearly everyone else who was previously considering litigation has put those plans on hold. That means fewer billable hours for attorneys, less of anything to do for paralegals + other law firm employees, and consequently very little work for people like the court reporters + videographers.
All of those groups have been eyeing the Zoom train, because that's the hot thing everyone is talking about. Of course, this confuses me because the local court systems don't even use Zoom (obviously). They either use Skype or WebEx, and now that people are finally beginning to see the problems with Zoom, quite a few are freaking out because they've boarded the wrong train. The whole thing sounds like a bit of a shit show. Today I had a local court reporter ask me if I had ever heard of Jabber. I hadn't, but for me it further underlined just how much legal and legal-adjacent jobs have been thrown into disarray by all this.

Even N95s are totally inadequate for a virus like this. Ideally, everyone treating these patients would have, at the bare minimum, a full-face PAPR hood, but the necessary PPE does not exist in the quantities required. As you know, our healthcare workers—like you, I assume—are getting sick in droves with this thing. Hundreds of doctors and nurses worldwide are coming down with COVID-19, and some of them are dying of it.
There are people right now who are trying to claim that the virus isn’t real and this whole thing is one big coverup. I think that’s absolutely insane.
There have been multiple independent confirmations of SARS-CoV-2’s gene sequence, and over a hundred countries have people getting sick with this thing and blatantly showing symptoms, and yet, there are those who dare call it a hoax, while people are dying.
I will continue to advocate for healthcare workers receiving better PPE to fight this terrible disease. I am sick and tired of this. It’s like nobody cares about our doctors and nurses. It makes me sick!
