Were I to give the likes of Otaku and Fantasy Soft (and all the assorted cosplayers-cum-wanna be voice actors) the most charitable interpretation of all this nonsense, I would say that they are creatives and dreamers who are green behind the ears, have no clue how the industry works, and are just dreaming of that chance to make it big, and in doing so fumble about and make rookie mistakes.
Were I to look at it with a more jaded eye, I see a bunch of pretenders, who don't know the years of hard work, networking, and determination that it takes to turn dreams into reality. They don't realize that for every success, there are one hundred failures.
An even less charitable view is that they are talent-less pretenders and charlatans, who see the amount of money fans are willing to spend to support their projects, and are just hopping on the notoriety of the current situation to line their pockets.
To think that someone with zero experience in the industry would have the absolute gall to use the name of a veteran performer/director to boost their projects and in doing so, miss their chance to actually learn something from someone who could teach classes on directing/producing/acting , is the definition of hubris.
