Good credit score and high income for a few years. Remember that this was in 2014. He had little debt and was still riding high on YouTube money.
I imagine with what you say plus the then good standing CT mortgage, he was around or over 800

I’m not sure what the excise tax is other than another term for state B&O tax. The type of business Dave engages in doesn’t typically generate excise tax as I’m familiar with the term. It’s a priority claim, so it’ll be first in line after Nancy collects her fees from any liquidated assets. Also noticed that Dave was using his Citibank card as late as mid-October. The creditors have been notified this is an asset case and they smell pigroach blood in the water. It’ll be very interesting to see if creditors are going to start file objections to discharge. Knowing Dave, he charged on every card right up to the limit where it is presumed fraudulent. Thanks for the money dummies. ACK ACK ACK. Indeed.
This is was the 1st result I found when I looked up 'Washington excise tax'

Business & Occupation Activities

This return is customized for annual taxpayers who report under certain B&O tax classifications and do not collect retail sales tax.

He can, just didn't want to. He probably decided that he'd file for bankruptcy soon and were deciding which debt he could get away with.

What a great way to start a marriage! People usually aspired to be a better man so that they could become better parents. Phil was planning how to get away with running up 14+ credit card debts so that he could play some mobile games. Legacy!!
That brings up a good question. Did Kat know he had 14 maxed out credit sources before they were married, and would she have still wanted to marry him had she found out before hand?

He actually talked about the Emerald7 money being what let him string things along until they got married. I really don't think she had any idea until after they were married.

Kat had to know something was up. She drives Phil to the mailbox to get the mail twice a week.

If she had no idea, that could only mean Phil was hiding things from her. Women love that.

Q from browsing the docs: is there a reason these (such as the 15k) are listed as 'loans' when the description box of the requested line has 'credit cards' as a separate example?

Credit and loans function very similarly: When you put something on credit (doesn't matter if it's secured) the bank is fronting you some amount of money on the understanding that you will pay it back over time, just like any other type of loan. It's strange that the bank and court are using inconsistent terminology but either way he used someone else's money to make purchases and then never paid it back.

I'm guessing Phil is hiding things from her. She's probably a gold digger/trophy wife and marrying into $130,000 in CC debt is not part of that MO. He also picks up the mail only a few times/week and it's full to bursting each time, so he probably gets tons of spam from unfunny wannabe trolls and could hide the letters in there or dismiss them as fake if she asks.

I know there's theories that she is exceptional or zonked out on pills but she'd have to be REALLY out of it if Phil explained the debt to her and she did not bolt immediately. Stronger marriages have collapsed over much less.

Kat's lived at Phil's place the longest out of anyplace afaik based off all those old addresses she has. She has to work 3 days a week and doesn't pay bills.

Its a great gig for Kat until Phil can't afford her anymore. Besides, Kat's so transient and has 'her own debts' she probably feels right at home kiting credit cards.

She isn't some normal broad like Leanna that would take Phil's recklessness as a red flag. Its just the usual as far as she's concerned.

The ball won't drop for her until the repo man shows up and takes her TV.
