Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

This is happening everywhere, not just in Austrailia. As cases drop, restrictions increase. I think for the states who hven't been as harsh as Michigan, they are just waiting to get through Easter so they don't get the bad press like Kentucky has. Betting on a lot of "things are still bad, we tried to loosen up but you guys blew it, here's the new lockdowns till June" decrees starting Monday.
I think what bothers me about Australia is how docile everyone is and how hellbent the govis on punishing everyone. At the same time, politicians gave themselves a 12% payrise and literally said "We deserve it and we're not taking a paycut." Among other things they're doing and actively lying about. The Finance minister is an exceptionally spiteful bastard and is smugly enjoying swinging his dick around.

>Infects themselves with their own Holocough.
>Refuses to tell anyone about it.
>Refuses to close wet markets.
>Refuses to stop eating bats
>Bans black people

... Wait, I think I missed a step somewhere. What?

Watch how the UN give no fucks at all!

If anything non-essential is cut that's a hard lockdown. And Australia is semi-rural for the most part without any megacities. If anything it should never had gotten a full lockdown for real. Unless it's healthcare system is so woefully inadequate it could be toppled by the sniffles. Reading how full exceptional individual it's going gratuituously is honestly worrying.

Australia has now got 7500 ICU beds. 28million people. We have 70 in ICU atm and we've been told that it's not and wasn't ever a resource concern. They just lied about that to gain compliance. It was about waiting for a vaccine. So we cant leave our houses until a vaccine manifests. Said finance minister Corman says well have a bouncing economy whenever we open up. S&P said lol what? And downgraded us from stable economy to negative.
It's just a way of easily selling Australia to China. It's been going on for a long time but Corman isn't even hiding it anymore.

This was with a guy who was definitely heterosexual, but such a failure at life he was trying to teach himself to be gay because he figured men had lower standards and at least that way someone would touch him. I bring that up because I think it's relevant.

And the winner for best obituary ever goes to. Seriously what the fuck did I just read.

Edit: also how do you random.txt something? No particular reason for that question...

Just a local observation. It's quiet and today is Semana Santa... Easter. I live very close to a Yaqui Indian reservation (Guadalupe). Semana Santa is the holiest of days to them. Traditional parades that go house to house in the community. BIG boom fireworks going off every half-hour. The party goes on all day and night; can usually hear the mariachi bands from my patio.

Today? Only silence. Struck me as very odd and some how prophetic.

Also, huge Bernie Bro.

I'd say it reminds me of this but, honestly, it seems way worse

I always realized my dick was too thin
Fapping to cuck porn and wanting black dick within
My wife prepping the bull, and living in sin
Downward spiral, where do I begin?
It all started when Bernie went under
No gibs for myself, and no gibs for another
Searching to find a bull upon a higher level
Finding nothing but Pepes and Hitlers

Somebody in my town (LA) is trying to get us to go out and protest today. I doubt anyone is going to show up.
And the people that do show up for a protest in Los Angeles are probably those that are more susceptible to the coof or other communicable diseases. If anything, that makes a more convincing argument in favor of voluntary self-quarantining.

Michigan's original orders were set to expire tomorrow (13-Apr) and I imagine many other states had theirs scheduled to expire just after Easter as well. Even though Michigan made the decision to extend theirs last week, I'm expecting other states to extend theirs during the next few days. While extensions might be needed for those areas that haven't yet peaked, the fact that states are blindly adding more restrictions and not taking the time to determine what can and can't be done safely is concerning and raises the question if they will make good on their initial promise to ease restrictions once COVID-19 peaks and cases/deaths drop to levels less than those when restrictions first became enacted.

As much as Michigan's Governor Whitmer has raised eyebrows with what she's deemed essential versus nonessential, at least she heeded advice -- unlike Kentucky -- when she was told an outright prohibition on religious services would conflict with the First Amendment. I think her lack of a heavy hand with that is why most churches around the state still chose to discontinue traditional services because they had the chance to think it over and realize they lacked the time and resources to screen everyone wanting to attend, enforce social distancing, and limit services to the then-maximum of 50 persons.

From what I was told, quotes may be suggested here.

They have little to no intention of easing restrictions. They keep drumming "new normal" for a reason.

You know what the worst part is? Australia could have benefited greatly from this under the right leadership. It has the perfect combo of industrialization, healthcare and pop density togo into overdrive with medical production to feed everyone else at little risk.but insteas it's the nation that will get hit the worst economically because your president's an incredible fucking idiot.

Coronavirus: 'Half of A&E team' test positive
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-52263285

About half of A&E consultants and nurses at a major Welsh hospital have tested positive for coronavirus, a doctor there has said.

Consultant Tim Rogerson, from the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport, appeared in a video on the Aneurin Bevan health board's Facebook page.
Dr Rogerson is self-isolating and said he had "pretty much a full house" of coronavirus symptoms.

The health board area is one of the worst affected of the UK.

Hey, at least all of the petty Napoleons and their bootlickers are exposing their true colours.
It's been very edifying. This ain't the new normal, but the new normal will be built on what this reveals. I can only liken it to so many late night monsters revealing their zippers at the same time.

That's definitely a "pump the brakes" moment for me.

Hey we don't need to lock shit down but we don't need to be fucking retarded and go out protesting in large groups. There actually is a virus going around. Just be safe and be smart. And if you're in doubt, stay inside or go out on off hours. I don't need some elected dickhead or a cop on a power trip to tell me to not be an idiot.

If I understand what you're referencing, there's a difference between denying life saving procedures to someone you have guardianship over - which is a gray area that depends on the situation - and potentially endangering other people. You potentially endanger people pretty often, it's not a reason to be prevented from doing it. Otherwise places like ski lodges would be outlawed, because it potentially endangers people, including minors, of all ages all the time it's open.

I guess we could also use the example of Typhoid Mary. She killed people and insisted on not being sick.

I mean in practice.

Much like the American federal government, the Canadian federal government does try to undermine provincial sovereignty, but provincial sovereignty still very much exists and they're clearly in charge during this crises as it falls within their jurisdiction. As you can see from the link I posted earlier, Trudeau floated the idea of the feds taking charge and got laughed out of the room. All Trudeau has done is stand on his front step and announce stimulus.

Do you live in Canada?
