Corona-chan is a chink flu AIDS virus made in a chink lab is my best guess

India's had a recent uptick in their death count. There's no way they can quarantine that many people and I suspect that this thing is spreading like wildfire through the hundreds of thousands of malnourished street urchins languishing in the slums of Bangalangalolololarashabad. Maybe some of them will be lucky and get trampled by an elephant instead of having their lungs melt.
As an Indian, I can safely say that is a good thing. Most who are dying are lower caste, slow in the mind animal rapists and the faster corona chan wrap her thighs around, the better the world and India gets. Also you misspelled "Bangalangalolololarashabad" Its actually BangalangalolololarashaRAbad

I see people on my Facebook newsfeed unironically saying that the people who protested in Minnesota yesterday are fascists.

It's fascist to protest against a state lockdown ... ? Fascist? Really?!

Insert that Princess Bride quote here.

How can you have a reasonable discussion with people who say this kind of exceptional shit?

From what I'm hearing from Southern U.S. Law enforcement buddies, they're seeing a lot of unusual activity on the mexican border. Some people wanted to leave or enter over the last month, so the flow of people alone has been unusual in both directions on top of angsty cartel guys trying to find new gaps in a less-active border patrol. Add in the fact that Chinese-made precursor chemicals necessary for the drug trade have dried up, on top of that a less-mobile populace to overall traffic the end product and shortages are quite possible.
When economies tank drug addiction and suicides go up. If you count alcoholism as a drug addiction it's a no brainer, but people get creative. Look at the Russians and krokodil, or locally we've got dirty shake n bake meth.

I've never been too fearful of the virus. I'm much more afraid of social and civic instability in a populace that is one paycheck away from feeling morally obligated to crack down every front door and beat the owner over the head because they see anyone 'better off' than they are as having become an enemy of the people. People are dumb, panic-ridden animals, and it really doesn't take much to flip the ones on the....less-civilised end of the scale? I worked with lots of people in the poverty zone, and I can tell you from personal experience, I want to make sure they're stocked with doritos, weed, cigarrettes, whatever the hell they want, because we're only 9 days of withdrawals away from having a living zombie army on our hands. Hell, without power, water, internet, etc. even normal everyday working people can get nutty. Groups are scary when those inside feel less personal responsibility for their actions. Imagine whole blocks coming together out of mutual anger and heading towards those who still do have power and smokes.
So hopefully people will manage a bit better after the restrictions lift. I think we all could've been fine if people were actually sober enough to use masks and wash their hands, not eat sandwiches in the public bathroom, etc. and pay attention to not catching funky sicknesses.

I'll be sure to play the world's smallest violin over here for people who can't save money or figure out what financial stability really means.

By the way, did you hear the new iPhone SE is only $399? Waht a steal!
Because mortgage payments, car loans, college loans, childcare contracts, food, gas, electric, and water bills, as well as interest, all just magically come to a stop are are totally not just delayed if you are lucky until the crisis is over. Everyone who doesnt have 3+ months of savings is utterly irresponsible. You do realize that, while everyone is unemployed, all those payments are deferred, not canceled, right? They are all going to come due once this is over, and the loans are not having their end dates move, so people with payments will still have to pay the same amount this year but with 2-4 months less income. Most people, even those well off, are going to feel the sting of 3 months of bills all coming due at once while loosing 2-4 months of income. And many who have lost their jobs are not going to get them back right away, it will take time for the economy to recover.

For people worrying about not being able to get handsoap here's a handy tip

https://archive.vn/5JWpG

Now you'll say 'But that's from The Mirror! You'll get an aneurysm from reading that'. And that is indeed true, but Laurie Lee ain't wrong. Here I'm quoting the Mirror in non-aneurysm inducing amounts. Don't click that link above!

Revealing her heartbreak for a distressed woman at budget store B&M, Laurie said: "I was in B&M yesterday and saw a young woman nearly in tears because they didn't have any hand soap and she had young children in the house.

"I told her to use shampoo instead. She didn't believe me that it could be used because it's not 'antibacterial'.

"For anyone that doesn't know. The active ingredient in hand wash is a surfactant called sodium laureth sulfate along with sodium chloride.

Sodium Laureth Sulphate is a detergent. It breaks up the lipid membrane around viruses and it's gentle enough you can use on your hands. And in other places too...

It's the active ingredient in pretty much all liquids soaps and shampoos. So if you can't get liquid soap, shampoo is just as good!

Can you blame these people?

A month ago, the narrative was that we were doing this to prevent overwhelming the healthcare system. We've succeeded at doing so.

Now the goalposts have suddenly moved, and now we're supposed to all be locked in our homes until the government says we can come out. In some states, you're even banned from buying seeds to grown your own food during these lockdowns.

The government needs to be reminded of who is working for who, here.

TL : DR It may actually be just a flu bro.*

*By mortality rate, chill sperg.

Well, for the flu we still have vaccines, and quite a lot of people have some immunity to some strains, but if we can get both of those things it's probably not going to be horrible, excluding mutations that are not covered by the initial vaccine.

Another nursing home spread resulted in a localized spike of detections, so we have 461 new cases today. A lot more than in recent days. 18 deaths and 92 recoveries too. I impatiently await the day when recoveries start outpacing new detections. This has been happening in the Czech Republic for a few days now. Things have slowed down to a crawl over there, but here they persist in the 300-450 daily range. And I just know there will be another, delayed spike because of Easter.
