I know that Deryn isn't real and that I can't marry her, but I still have some feelings for her. She is a nice character and the thought of her cheers me up. I'm not delusional or autistic. I'm not paedophile either. But I still think her age (15 years) is part of her appeal, because she is cute and innocent.

There is nothing "degenerate" about me and my feelings for Deryn Sharp.

This made me kind of sad. Not even mad, you just seem like the kind of person who's had bad experiences with women and are now lashing out at them to protect yourself. So you've retreated into this fictional fantasy where the 'person' you are with can't ever betray you or go against you.

Yeah, maybe the rest of us open ourselves up to being lied or hurt or cheated on, but we all put ourselves out there and allow vulnerability into our lives, and that makes our relationships more meaningful. It's the mutual reciprocation of trust that forms the foundation of a loving relationship. It's not even that you need a physical connection- many people do long distance relationships for months or even years - but the interaction with a person that has free will who willingly chooses you, every day. And that's why fictional relationships can't work. They're not real, there's no free will, no consent, no anything at all. They're not even like animals, who have a rudimentary idea of trust and self-preservation. They're just imaginary.
