I love you Joseph Stalin.
👍 All the best. Just calling 'em as I see 'em. And when I look at AOC, I see some BIG titties!

On a more serious note, our county's incompetent "health director" still maintains we'll have 33,000 cases in the county by mid-May. We presently have maybe 160. The local paper has excoriated this clown. Saw a bunch of letters to the editor, a number from doctors, agreeing with the paper's editor. A member of the county Board of Supervisors wrote in to express her support for this turd.

I just wrote the following letter, paraphrased, to the editor of this paper. Maybe he'll print it. I got all my stats off the web.

Dear Editor,

I noticed our county "health director" is very big on certain numbers.

Let's talk numbers.

So far, as of 23 April, there have been 50,243 deaths in our country from the coronavirus. 1,272 have died in California, out of a population of 40,000,000.

The total number of deaths worldwide from the coronavirus is 191,061.

The daily death toll from all causes, worldwide, is 153, 424.
The number of people who have died of all causes, worldwide, this year, is 17,559, 246.

In our country, in 2017, per the CDC:
2,813,503 people died.
647,457 died of heart problems - over 50,000/month or over 12,500/week.
599,108 died of cancer - 50,000/month or 12,500/week.
The leading causes of the remaining 1,566,938 deaths were, in this order - accidents, lower respiratory diseases, chronic lower respiratory diseases, stroke, Alzheimer's, diabetes, influenza and pneumonia, kidney diseases, and suicide.

Looking at these numbers, why don't we put entire states under house arrest to fight the spread of heart problems, cancer, and accidents? They seem to kill many more Americans than this virus.

And why does this "health director" demand even more draconian measures of house arrest for us inmates of this county, when nearly everywhere else is looking for ways to ease these restrictions? Why does the Board of Supervisors seem to believe everything he says? His numbers have already been shown to be a joke. He probably hasn't even noticed the steadily rising amount of pushback against these house arrests, nationwide.

Time to put things in perspective and get a new "health director". I'm beyond sick and tired of his egotistical power trip.

Funny how this happens to Japan a couple of weeks after China lifted their lockdown momentarily.

Chinese Nationals flocking to other nations again, maybe? The Japanese Prime Minister has been extremely vocal about how China and the WHO suck over the past month ...

It's weird how nobody says, not even the alt-right. It's pretty much only countries with sizable Chinese populations that are getting punched down.

USA, Italy, Spain, Canada, etc. Guess renaming it to COVID worked?

The U.S. really keeps dancing around the fact that obesity is a huge factor in deaths here. It's the most prevalent underlying condition in hospitalized patients between 18-49 according to this.

The CDC even mentions it as a risk factor, but I keep seeing articles about people in their 20s and 30s dying and it says "no known underlying conditions" but then you look at a picture of the person and it's plain to see they're obese.

I was thinking about it when I read about this 26 year old former football player who died in Connecticut. It's sad that someone so young died and he seemed like a decent guy, but it's a bit ridiculous to say someone is "perfectly healthy" carrying around that much weight.

I've also noticed a lot of the articles don't include a picture and I have to search around for one and my first thought is "they're probably fat".

I know it's a touchy subject that hurts people's feelings, but it's a serious health issue and this should be a come to Jesus moment about the obesity problem here.
Without drifting to far into the "its conspiracy!" waters, I think this is also partly to do with the media hype/fear mongering. If you point out that the average Joe is less likely to get this thing than Big Tony Fatone, then it makes the average Joe less likely to care and less likely to support going hungry & bankrupt.

I don't know. I'm still curious why Cuomo and his idiot State Health Commissioner used executive orders to mandate that Nursing Homes must accept All Coronavirus infected patients sent to them and not tell anybody? Just found out my wifes 96 year old Grandmother tested positive in a NY nursing home. Thankfully she seems to have just run a fever for a few days and shrugged it off. Tough old gal.
Do you have a source for this?
Not that I dont believe you, just for later use

I thought this would go to A&N, but then I realized it'd have a better home here. I searched the thread, and I don't think anyone posted this already, so sorry if you did and I missed it!
Democrats plan to censure lawmaker who credited Trump for COVID-19 recovery said:
Detroit Democrats plan to vote to censure and bar any future endorsements of a Democratic lawmaker who credited President Donald Trump with advocating for the drug that she said cured her of COVID-19.
State Rep. Karen Whitsett, D-Detroit, broke protocol by meeting with President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence during an April 14 meeting of COVID-19 survivors, during which she credited hydroxychloroquine for saving her life.

“Thank you for everything that you have done,” Whitsett told Trump at the meeting. “I did not know that saying thank you had a political line. … I’m telling my story and my truth, and this how I feel and these are my words.”

Trump appeared to offer his support for the state representative late Thursday, tweeting, "Disgraceful. (Whitsett) Should join the Republican Party!"

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 24, 2020
The meeting and other comments Whitsett made prior to and during the coronavirus pandemic have landed her in hot water with the 13th Congressional District Democratic Party Organization.

The group, as first reported by Gongwer News Service, plans to vote Saturday via Zoom on a resolution to censure Whitsett, a first-term lawmaker representing the 9th Michigan House District.

The admonition means she will not get the group’s endorsement for this year nor will she be able to engage in the group’s activities for the next two election cycles.

“At the end of the day, we have political systems,” said Jonathan Kinloch, chairman of the organization. “We have political parties, and political parties exist for a reason.

“They do not belong to themselves,” Kinloch said of endorsed candidates and elected officials. “They belong to the members and precinct delegates of the Democratic Party.”

Up until March, Kinloch was Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's community liaison to southeast Michigan.

The developments quickly drew the ire of Donald Trump Jr., who tweeted Thursday: "What a joke. Remember folks, the narrative can only be against Trump and if you break those rules the left will turn on their own."

'I will continue to fight'
Whitsett, meanwhile, said she plans to continue working for the district, adding she has been delivering food and cleaning products to those in need throughout the pandemic.

"I will continue to fight for the city of Detroit and the people in Detroit who need it the most, and that is the black community," Whitsett said. "We’re the voiceless, and I don’t care who I got to go up against to do that.

"I’m a Democrat, and I plan on continuing to be a Democrat, but they will change their ways. I have my First Amendment right, and no one will take that away from me.”

It's not unusual for there to be strife within parties, but those differences usually play out at the state or local level, said Greg Bowens, a Detroit-area Democratic political consultant and a member of the executive board for the 14th Congressional District.

n Whitsett's case, the issue quickly rose to the national stage and could be used as a wedge to peel off Democratic supporters in Michigan, Bowens said. Whitsett's actions, he said, could be "undermining the party's ability to win Michigan."

“She is in her own way trying to champion the inequities in our system," Bowens said. "But everybody knows Trump’s a user. If you give him any praise, he’s going to use it in his campaign to win the state.”

Several lawmakers in Detroit or elsewhere have been censured in some way by their parties over the years because of "serious trouble with the law," but the idea of zinging a lawmaker for meeting with the president is "unheard of," said Bill Ballenger, a longtime political analyst, a Republican former state lawmaker and head of the online Ballenger Report.

"They obviously feel this is something that cannot be tolerated," he said.

Kinloch said the party’s problems with Whitsett date back to comments she made about House Democratic leadership and the Democratic legislative caucus at large.

In February, Whitsett told WWJ-AM (950) that House Democratic Leader Christine Greig of Farmington Hills was a racist because she wouldn’t consider an urban agenda for the caucus. Greig also pulled Whitsett’s communications staff because of an unfavorable vote on an early rendition of the no-fault auto reform bill, Whitsett said.

A later version of the no-fault auto reform legislation received overwhelming support in the state House and was signed into law by Whitmer.

Slammed for misrepresenting Dems
The resolution Detroit Democrats will vote on notes she has "misrepresented the needs and priorities" of Democratic leadership to the president and public.

The resolution also notes she's participated in events with the Republican Women's Federation of Michigan to express gratitude to the president.

Whitsett, the resolution said, "has repeatedly and publicly praised the president's delayed and misguided COVID-19 response efforts in contradiction with the scientifically based and action-oriented response" from Michigan's Democratic leadership, "endangering the health, safety and welfare of her constituents, the city of Detroit and the state of Michigan."

Michigan State Medical Society President Dr. Mohammed Arsiwala prescribed hydroxychloroquine and an antibiotic for Whitsett after she visited one of his Michigan Urgent Care clinics in Wyandotte. She had symptoms of COVID-19 and an underlying condition, he told The Detroit News.

The Trump administration has deployed about 28 million doses of hydroxychloroquine from the federal government’s Strategic National Stockpile. While hydroxychloroquine is effective at treating lupus and rheumatoid arthritis, the drug can be dangerous for people with certain heart conditions.

On Sunday, after Whitsett continued to make negative comments about the party and Whitmer, the 13th Congressional Democratic group asked her to come in for a “screening” of candidates for her house district. Whitsett refused, Kinloch said.

“Don’t play with us,” Kinloch said. “This is very serious when we ask to have a conversation with you and you choose not to.

“We’re not going to accept that. How they handle you in Lansing as far as the Democratic caucus that’s on them. But how we handle you back at home, that’s on us.”

Whitsett said she didn't have time for the screening.

"I don’t have time for politics," Whitsett said. "That’s ridiculous, during a pandemic, that they think I have time for a screening. ... I have people that need me.”

The Detroit Democrats are acting less like a political party and more like the Mafia. Is it something in the water?

Hopefully it won't be too much longer before this quarantine business is over and we can attempt to get back to a normal life.

Goddamn AOC is a fine-ass bitch. FUCK.

Also I'm pretty sure when they are at that podium they are social distanced by default. AOC sit on my face.
Yup, all three on AOC. Suck those tits, squeeze those buns, plow that pussy, on a one-time basis. But she can't talk. She lives with some guy. Bet he's a beta to the max, maybe gets it once a week, when she gives him his balls back.

My man.😎 It's good to see that there are others here on the Farms with good taste.

Here gents, have some gifs of a college-aged AOC dancing.

Question for everyone that's not American:

Are you seeing any back to work protests like the ones in the states? I'm trying to search YouTube for some in England and such but you know the algorithm - is anyone in your country protesting government overreach?

>England
>Protesting about government overreach

lol no we don't do that here

As a New Yorker, all I wish for is a wall around NYC. Fuck De Blasio, he has blood on his hands. I'll give Cuomo a pass for now even with the dumb shit he proposes.

And as always more and more assuming you're needed (you aren't) people will just magically stay put (they won't) and no one will actively fight you (they DEFINITELY will), also LOL at thinking merkel will backstab the refugees and turkey. Slavery through overpopulation is her core thesis, it matters more than germany itself to her. She'll keep trying.
I do enjoy how much you point out that "we" are not needed in a discussion revolving entirely around why Spain needs "our" money.
:story:

The south's long since been hacking itself to death to try and get out of debt, but it is the north's trade regulations, stifling our exports and literally fixing prices in your favor, which have ensured we can never do as much.
Wonder where that perception comes from. What motive would the EU have to keep Spain down? Do you really think the EU wouldn't welcome it if Spain was economically stronger?

As I said, this whole thing, to me, feels more like some people are shifting blame away from their own politicians towards the EU and use them as both a scapegoat and a bogeyman.
Seems to me, Spain suffered tremendeous losses during the aftermath of the 2008 economic crisis, the collapse of its housing and banking sectors and was forced to modernise and restructure their economy. And since some of that stuff is not very popular, it's easier and more convenient to blame it on the mean EU than to acknowledge, that they are necessary and overdue. The ESM provided Spain with money to help them get out of the credit crunch when they became unable to trade national bonds, and ESM credits come with a very benevolent interest rate, far lower than what anyone else would offer.
Now, we see a continuation of this trend, complaining about help being insufficient, since it doesn't take the most desired shape.

Your perspective on this seems to be that the EU is doing this exclusively to fuck with Spain (Italy and Greece, too, I guess), as if the EU had nothing better to do.
Why would the EU want to prevent these nations from becoming more prosperous?

All I see is a difference in opinions about how this crisis should be handled and increasingly louder complains about how unfair it is.
How fair is it to accept nothing less than other nations taking responsibility for your own economy?

You claim we want no fiscal responsibility.
Anyone supporting Eurobonds is fiscally irresponsible. Spain is now demanding such bonds and they want to sneak them in via Corona-Bonds.
I do not see how anyone could think it's fair to force nations to pay off the debts of another nation.
The EU is offering help and they plan to come up with an investment strategy to mitigate the fallout from Corona.
As I said a couple dozen pages ago, seems to me Spain is mad that they only get a horse, when they strictly demanded a unicorn.
If that is enough to make them snap and leave the EU in a puff, so be it.

Until now you've dictated the rules, you've made the restricrions, and you've rigged the game in your favor. And all we've done is obey and self-mutilate.
Victim-complex much?

I've already heard talks of what some will do if the government doesnt go the spexit route. And it involves violence against EU officials, and lots of it,
The YEARS of slavery did.
Turbo Story.png

This kind of unreflected vitriol is what makes me doubt your words btw.

I already warned you, spain does thing by root enterprising.
So?

I'm doubting your words on one hand for your wording, which makes it pretty obvious that you are biased and thus your perception of what is going on might be biased too.
I do not doubt that people are mad at the EU (and as I said, I think a substantial amount of that is linked to playing the blame game), but I do doubt the extend and scope of it.
Then again, maybe people really need to vent and it's easier to trashtalk the EU than anything else? I mean, it has been the favorite pasttime of many nations that somehow still neatly line up to receive their subsidies.

If I'm wrong about the Spanish attitude and it is far more severe, which is very well likely I'll admit, and Spain does kick off Spexit in the near future, all I can say is:
So what?

What a wonderful idea by our new leader of the opposition. What a perfect time to have an inquiry into the shameful racism of a virus! And what better person to conduct an independent and impartial review than a woman whose only qualification is being the mother of St. Stephen Lawrence, race-martyr and Prince Of Our Hearts! It brings a tear to the eye! #ClapForDoreen #SayNoToVirusRacism #VoteLabour
