Phil isn't going to lose the condo.

You want proof? He said so on stream! He said he was going to file for chapter 7 or whatever and if that didn't work he'd just do the other one.

Phil is a valedictorian, a finance major and the CEO of Burnell Enterprises (which provides on demand and live video streaming services) so I think he knows his stuff!

Bankruptcy is a months long process (years for people that matter, unlike Phil).

Even an update of 'shit's suss so we need more time to look into it' might not be made public.

Phil's particularly weird behavior recently makes me think something somewhere is up and not going 'to plan' for him.

My pet theory is his gacha guild found out who he is irl, but bankruptcy could be a big part too.

"Hello Mr. Burnell. I'm Intern 3 with the Seattle bankruptcy court and Nancy would like to know what these 'Scopley Inc' charges on your bank account are and why they total 27k over the last six months."

Excited to see it get dismissed

Listen, alright. I've heard the new white detractor meme. Ok. I gave the court permission to dismiss my case because we are going to pay my debts the old fashioned way. Debunked! Tips help now more than ever. Vest goal is now $1000. *T-Pose*

if his bankruptcy gets thrown out I think the first place you would see it is here and not on twitter or reddit.

Ya he would be Tweeting something akin to this at around 2am PST:

"Before the trolls telling you false information to make me look bad, I would like to tell my viewers that after thinking hard for weeks, I decided to GIVE THE COURT PERMISSION to dismiss my bankruptcy filing so that I can start to use my 14 credit cards again"

so if he can make $6,000 post creditors meeting, there's a chance it can be dismissed?

that would mean he needs to make $16,000, cause $10,000 in expenses, and he's probably almost there

I'd like to think that Nancy knows his expenses are bullshit

No way it'll stay as Ch. 7 while making at least $100k/year, I'd be surprised if it gets converted to Ch. 13 and not surprised at all if his case gets dismissed overall + a fine or something for lying under oath and wasting the court's time and Phil just gets told to stop spending less money on retarded shit since he clearly has the means to pay off his debts but he's too fucking lazy to do so

It's just wishful thinking.

I'd say the prediction that it will happen isn't really off base. It's one of the more likely outcomes. Whether he gets dismissed or converted and whether it's with prejudice or not really depends on how much they're pissed off at his fuckery and whether there's some threshold where this particular trustee and/or judge can impose such sanctions.

It's within the court's discretion to make a broad range of decisions in a case like this and DSP has more or less left himself at their mercy. They could do anything from dismiss his case without prejudice, giving him effectively a do-over, although he doesn't get as long a stay next time, all the way up to referring him for prosecution for perjury (which is not going to happen).

Also it's not on the docket so it didn't happen. A dismissal won't just come out of the blue. It comes after a recommendation by the trustee or a motion by one of the creditors, or a motion by the claimant himself. For instance if the pigroach realizes this isn't going to go well for him he could file. And maybe they'll grant it or maybe they'll say okay, but it's with prejudice and you don't get a do-over.

A dumb stunt some litigants who think they're clever do is repeatedly file for bankruptcy and then move to dismiss their own petition. I could see Phil doing something dumb like this but it won't work out well for him.

She might not have immediately figured it out because a normal business actually would have margins somewhat like DSP is claiming. I am not sure she appreciates that his "business" basically amounts to being a mendicant having kids throw money they steal from their parents at him for nothing but acting like a fool online, to the tune of six figures a year, and he actually has virtually zero overhead.

I saw that reddit post this morning. It hasn't been thrown out, it's just people misunderstanding what the post said. It's merely talking about the deadline for when Nancy would have to throw out the case for abuse. Like others have said, you would see a new thread about it here first and 1000 posts about it.

Edit: I take that back. The guy titled it "Phil's bankruptcy is going to be dismissed..." so yeah

Depends on whether anyone who knows rss and Twitter bots could just create a primitive bot that looks for the Burnell bankruptcy in the court's rss feed and just parses it and posts to Twitter.

With the prospect of him losing the ability to go into bankruptcy, I wonder if he'll try to capitalize somehow on the creditors coming to his house and a day to day basis.

I also wonder how long it will be before the creditors going after his WWE Legends debt just abandon all hope, maybe that debt will be sold off to other collectors, and then he'll just have to deal with a new person each week coming up to his door step and asking to see his phone.

If Phil has 400 real subscribers on average and he makes $100,000 a year in tips, cheers, and subs, that averages to each subscriber throwing $250 at Phil per year for this garbage content that you can watch for free.

And would be a far more entertaining show if everyone just stopped paying for it. Not sure I've ever found anything else where you pay money to make something less fun.

It would be very interesting to see the median kahntribution to be honest.

The average is always a bit skewed due to Jeff-sized whales that give him 20k a year.

Median contribution for which type? Cheers or subs?

Afaik pretty much all the info is in the threads. @actually breaks that shot down to the vent so you could probably just search is profile for it. I’m not quite good enough with numbers myself, if you or anyone else could take a look I’m sure it’s all there.

Edit/ninja’d by the man himself. Shoulda known @actually would’ve already had his ears pricked for it lol
(“Edit” is constantly being changed to “meditation “ on my phone wtf)
