Trump Enslavement Syndrome - Orange man good. /r/The_Donald and any public demonstration of rabid pro-Trump enthusiasm in spite of all reason.

They're turning on Fauci now, or as they call him Fauxie. Here's my favorite comment:

Sounds familiar.
Fauci was appointed by Trump (at least indirectly). So really, they're saying Trump doesn't choose the best people.

I'm trying to figure out a way to interpret what he said in any way but "inject bleach directly into your cock vein" and honestly I'm at a loss. Does he simply not understand how disinfectants work, or is he incapable of speaking clearly?
We've known since 2016 he can't speak good. There's a reason his University speech is famous. He sounds mentally ill.

:story:

There seems to be a surprisingly big crossover between Trumpers and anti-vaxx (although to be fair, anti-vaxx stupidity can be found in the left too). Then again Trump has repeated the "vaccines cause autism" myth, so...

Oh come on guys, Trump did not say to inject bleach, just read the entire quote... He just did his usual rambling stream of consciousness stuff that is definitely the best possible approach when people are worried about a pandemic.

That UV blood irradiation therapy is a thing... but widespread antibiotics made it obsolete. So good for Trump for thinking up an outdated medical solution on his own, next up maybe he'll suggest doctors use some of those X ray dealies to look inside someone and see if there's any corona hanging out in there...

If the president doesn't offer me like 4 or 5 conflicting and incompatible viewpoints in a single speech, why am I even listening, right? It's funny, Bush 2 was often criticized for not saying enough, but obviously you can go way too far in the other direction.

It's just funny to say he suggested bleach, because it seems like something he'd say.

I was just thinking that I have no idea why so many people on a lolcow-watching website love Trump so much. Because he is undoubtably a lolcow.
  • Never accepts criticism
  • Not only never accepts criticism, but freaks out and whines on TV and social media when he’s criticized
  • Demands that the people around him only praise him, surrounds himself with yes-men
  • Believes that any negative attention towards him is due to a vast conspiracy against him (in his case, Fake News and the Democrats), not because of his own shitty behavior
  • Openly engages in inappropriate and corrupt behavior and is shocked and upset when people call him out
  • Extremely thin-skinned, can’t handle being made fun of (see his war with SNL)
  • Completely out of touch with the lives and concerns of normal people (as much as people want to believe this billionaire champions the working class)
  • Has a habit of impulsively saying stupid shit his supporters have to make excuses for
  • Spends too much time on social media
Yeah, he’s probably the most successful lolcow ever, but a lolcow is still a lolcow. I really think a lot of people only like him because his embarrassing behavior pisses off the libs.
He has done a good job making libs and other tds people look like frothing rabid animals. Although his behavior at times is very laughable and downright embarrassing.

Yeah, that's the thing that makes Trump so special for both extremes. He is such a goofy silly asshole, but he makes some people who hate him act utterly insane and it's hilarious. To the point of taking a funny moment of verbal diarrhea and ginning up a bunch of moral outrage over all the people he's going to kill, instead of just making fun of his nonsense and mushmouth.

We should be in a golden age of political comedy right now but too many people were driven insane by the orange bad man, so we have to settle with laughing at them for the most part. The fucking host of the apprentice is the president, the opposition party is running a legitimately senile old man against him, this situation is hilarious if you can take a step back from your own political views.

It was a lot more amusing before the realty-TV host had to handle a raging pandemic and economic shut down. His covid-19 briefings would be hilarious if he wasn’t actually in charge of shit right now. I honestly think his old man dementia is worse than Biden’s at this point.

That's the thing though, Trump supporters don't seem to ever acknowledge his laughable and downright embarrassing behavior. It's always "Well he meant to say this," "He's playing 4D chess," "This is justified because of x," etc. It must be exhausting constantly having to justify the behavior of someone who acts like Trump. Especially when he throws tantrums like the one I mentioned earlier.

I agree it should be comedy gold, his running opponent is practically grandpa Simpson for fucks sake. I forgot to mention that he filled his cabinet with some questionable folks. It just doesn't help when the democrat party is about effective as the bad guys in Adventures Of Sonic The Hedgehog.

The funniest thing is, underlying all the ridiculousness, he's got pretty much the same approval rating as obama at the same point in his presidency. Despite the strangeness of the two candidates, polling is very similar to most other recent elections.

Everything is so stupid but at the same time it's apparently always been this stupid. The illusions of politicians having respectability or even basic competence really aren't necessary for us all to play the game as seriously as we ever did. If the republicans put up a potato and the democrats put up a bowling ball there'd be screaming matches about whether potatoes are more racist than bowling balls or whether bowling balls are more communist. (Spoiler: Potatoes are both racist and communist).

Society has become more aware that political figures are absurd puppets. In the case of Biden, he could win while being a mush-brained shell for simply "not being Trump". Conversely, Trump doesn't have as much power or control as he leads us to believe.

His press conference today will be a definite shitshow. Press will go full retard and Trump will either commit to the bleach meme or downplay it.

It really isn't exhausting for those who are team trump. his existence is one of the few things that is keeping them going. They'd still be spinning/shilling for the GOP but Trump in particular is giving them a lot to stay busy with, and they love it.

Couldn't have said it better, seems like in today's age where we have more access to information it's easier to see the man behind the curtain. At the rate things are going the potato and bowling ball analogy is on point.

It'd be funny if it weren't so scary that such an incompetent goof was the actual president, especially during a pandemic. Biden isn't exactly an elegant speaker, either, but at least he would put competent people in positions and wouldn't try to undermine actual experts. No one knows everything about a subject, and this includes the president. A good leader puts competent people with expertise in charge of those positions and listens to their input. Biden would actually do that
