Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

THAT! That right there is why. I won't even post the photos of those enemas go check Myles Power for them. They destroy the intestine like crazy. No joke, literal chunks of intestine fall out. Forst part is the pseudoscientists claim it's "parasites" and tell the parents to keep it up. It is some horrifying shit. And if you think the enemas are bad you have no idea what it'll do to your blood. Kimberly Clark Saenz was a serial killer who specifically used bleach for her murders. Let me tell you. It's not just the fact it's lethal, but how it kills you. Bleach causes liquefication necrosis. For those not in the biz. That means it dissolves the fat that forms the lipid bilayer of your cells, effecitevely liquifying you from the inside out. YOU FEEL YOURSELF PARTIALLY MELT. And thanks to the massive amount of OH-, an oxidant, it also feels like you're BURNING FROM THE INSIDE OUT. Don't fucking inject bleach. Even after being dissolved, even on non-lethal amounts, it fucking sucks. It has no advantage, and it's, it's just horrible. It's awful.

Bonus. The MMS cult also tells people to literally drink bleach. DON'T DO THAT EITHER. There's already been multiple deaths. The fact we need a reminder not to drink bleach is possibly the greatest shame of the human race. Fucking hell.
My attitude towards this is that anyone dumb or delusional enough to drink bleach or shoot it up his ass might at least serve as an example to others dumb or delusional to be on the fence about doing the same.
The problem is that this is done to children that are sick or disabled and that gets my blood to a rolling boil.

Yes. We have seen the inherent follies of "globalization" and "just-in-time" parts inventory.
Both are great as long as they work, but it's like building a house of cards on quicksand with a thunderstorm on the horizon.
Being able to sell and buy globally is absolutely great, it offers great opportunities and JIT-delivery cuts down on a shitton of costs, which is a necessity to offer goods at competetive prices, but the moment you lose your ability to buy raw materials in Mexico, to have them ferried over to China to make parts that are brought to Canada, to be assembled with stuff bought in Finnland with raw materials bought in Russia, so you can export that shit to Japan... well you get the idea.

Any kind of production, even entirely based on domestic raw materials and labour, can be disrupted through something outside your own control. Even delivery of a product just across the street can become impossible... but it is a lot less likely than a chain of supply&demand spaning the globe several times being disrupted.

An economy should always be able to function with only very limited supply by the outside. A bare minimum should always be as independent from outside work as possible.
And anything relevant for bare survival should be available via domestic production. At least the capacity to produce that stuff on very short notice should be there.

Overall, globalization, just-in-time-production and so on, these things aren't bad, but overreliance on them is bad.

We have also graphically seen the extent to which the CCP treats their people, and lies about anything and everything.
That, too. Too many politicians flirt with XinPooh, just cause he offers cheap labour and production. It's hypocritical and any western nation worth a damn should work towards withdrawing their investments from China... it's not like it's a sustainable market anyway, their rampant industrial espionage means they will replace any foreign product with their own knock-off version soon, anyway. How long do we have to sit idly by and watch them legalise patent theft and watch them manifacture carbon copies of Airbus Jets, Bullet Trains, cars and so on before those motherland-less bastards in megacorps finally understand that they are selling their own company's future by working with the Chinese.

In contrast, President Trump donates all his salary, and has been busting his ass to help get us the stimulus payments and the unemployment compensation supplement. The man isn't perfect, but he does care and he makes an effort.

Didn't you know? Being nice and helping others has become a staple amongst Nazis to dupe others into joining their cause!
Not even kidding, A&H had an article on it a few months ago.

Not suggesting that this is even slightly promising:

... but I love how Trump's stupidest pronouncements leave me wondering after a while if he can bend reality to his will.

Nice strawman! What I was answering to was his perception that german exports are somehow vital, while everyone else's exports are replaceable. A perspective that I will shatter since you've pushed me to spend the time and autism to write this shit.
who do you think produces all the machines? the chemicals, the cars, etc? you think people will be okay with driving fiats or imported cars from the US/China?
you think you can kickstart an ecomony with chinese machines? germanys export are highly important for pretty much every economy, thats why they cant be replaced. it would take decades of missery to replace german exports in south europe.
You can replace food and wine without big problems.

erman economy would be going worse, because you depend on having cheap spanish imports and expensive german exports
Spanish imports arent that cheap, but we like to have exotic food in the winter, brandy and wine.

Just perceive a lot of attitude. Don't see that at the commissary or Walmart. Not planning to go to Costco again until the first fresh cherries start showing up, and that only until the commissary gets cherries. Just about everything I buy at Costco I can get at the commissary, in maybe a different size/form, except for the big bags of frozen shrimp. Sure don't like paying to be treated like a criminal or a supplicant. Then Costco tries to get you to upgrade your membership. Fuck that and fuck them
Try Aldi or Lidl.

Don't have either one here. Commissary's prices are cheaper than any other grocery store in this area.

LA Suburb Update:
- Grocery store remains hit and miss. I went in the evening, and got my b-choice on canned soup, some hot dogs, lots of coffee creamer and a pizza. Roommate #1 found a big pack of scented toilet paper (???) and Roommate #2 found organic paper towels (They're brown so you can tell they're recycled).
- Grandpa's doctor has been consulted about the nursing home infection, and says that *if* the nursing home is following proper protocols, it is still safer to leave him there. The nursing home has tested all residents for Covid, and we're waiting to hear how many are affected besides the two symptomatic ones.
- The number of people at the (non-LA County) beach has risen exponentially since lockdown started. (Week 1 = four people, Week 3 = @12, Week... whatever we're on = 200). This was the first week the beach has been legally open. You're supposed to keep walking and not sit in the sand but everyone was tanning on towels as per the norm. They say if the beaches get too crowded they'll close them again, but the weather hit 90 the week so... yup.
- One local (non LA County) ski resort has opened, and is letting in 15 people an hour.
- My local "small nitch hobby shop" is supposed to be doing mail in only but was happy to sell me stuff out the back door.
- The fabric section at Walmart is totally decimated. The mask makers have found their true calling at last.
- A bunch of (non LA County) golf courses have reopened.
- My friend who works in medical supply production just got her hours cut. My friend in one of those not-quite-pyramid-schemes says her mother-ship-company just laid off half the sales-force and is forcing the remaining ones to continue paying subscriptions for products they can't move. My nurse friend just signed a new contract and is making bank...

Looked at SF's COVID-19 stats and there is again a large percentage of "unknown" and "other". Also, that a lot of the patients who come from homeless shelters had mental health and addiction issues. If I had to guess, "Unknown" means "Tan Homeless Person who incoherently screamed at me when I tried to ask about demographic information" for both counties.

The Spiked podcast interviewed Wilfred Reilly on the problems with the Ferguson study, which is the study that made the UK government change from a herd immunity strategy to lockdown. Basically the problem is that Ferguson assumed 80% infection rate and 1% mortality. Reilly points out the Diamond Princess only had a 17% infection. And current antibody tests make it likely the infection fatality rate is below 1%. So Ferguson's study was pessimistic.

Reilly also points out that the infection rates might well be higher indoors.

im not certain if this was posted, but the MI governor has made her response to the numerous lawsuits being brought up against her.

By decreeing with Order 58 that there is no time limit for replying to civil court precedings so she can now ignore the court completely.

She effectively suspended the court in MI untill she rules otherwise or she is forcibly removed.

Why does this sound familiar...

Michigan, USA

Governor Gretchen Whitmer, D, has extended the stay-at-home order until May 15, but loosened some restrictions while adding others. [Edit: Facial coverings, over the mouth and nose, not "masks" specifically,] will be mandatory in all enclosed public spaces, except places of worship [edit: I misread the order. The struck-out phrase is not true.], unless a medical condition prevents it, as of 11:59 PM Sunday, April 26. Among activities now permitted, effective 11:00 AM today, Friday April 24:
The sale of seeds and other gardening supplies, both at stores specifically dedicated thereto and at "big box" stores
Travelling between two residences, if you own both of them, (but vacation rentals are still forbidden)
Bicycle repair shops
Golfing
Boating, including motorboating
Addiction recovery meetings, limit 10 at a meeting.

[ETA: No criminal penalty will be enforced for failure to wear a mask. I'm not sure if a civil penalty can be levied. Breaking other portions of the shutdown order can still be punished as normal.]

I should note there is some dispute over whether Governor Whitmer actually has the authority to extend her order till May 15th without the approval of our legislature. Her emergency powers are currently set to expire on April 30th. She argues that one of our laws gives her the right to extend the stay-at-home order as long as the crisis lasts. The legislature argues that said law only applies to riots.

The Republicans in the legislature are working on plans to reopen the state in phases and/or on a county-by-county basis. Our House of Representatives has officially formed a committee to examine the state's response to the crisis. Our Senate has passed legislation designed to limit Governor Whitmer's authority in emergencies. The legislation would be subject to veto. The formation of the committee is not.

Edit: "examine" for "investigate."

Michigan State Representative Karen Whitsett (D-Detroit) is expected to face censure by the 13th Congressional District Democratic Party Organization after meeting with President Donald Trump to thank him for his endorsement of hydroxychloroquine, which she credits with saving her life from Corona-Chan.
Quote from the article. "The admonition means she will not get the group’s endorsement for this year nor will she be able to engage in the group’s activities for the next two election cycles."
The article further claims that this is not Rep. Whitsett's first quarrel with other Democratic officials, and quotes Greg Bowens, "a Detroit-area Democratic political consultant and a member of the executive board for the 14th Congressional District," as saying Rep. Whitsett's actions could be "undermining the party's ability to win Michigan."

Up-to-date count of available hospital beds, etc. in the State (the Detroit area is "Section 2, North and South.")(government website)
Detroit field hospital admits first 8 Corona patients. It will only be taking the less-serious cases. No one on ventilators.(archive - April 14)
Another field hospital in Detroit scaled back after drop in cases. Original plan was to open with 1,100 beds. Now they are only going to open with 250, planned to open April 20. (archive - April 11)

LAW AND ORDER
All localities given more discretion to release prisoners early (archive). The State prison system is not currently releasing inmates early.
Lansing (the capitol) police are not physically responding to minor crimes such as larceny, property damage, and break-ins to unoccupied buildings, including garages. Other police are adopting similar policies (archive) (archive).
Detroit crime still down (archive - April 12); Muskegon police report crime is up (archive).
Breaking the lockdown is a misdemeanor, punishable by $1500 fines and 90 days jail time. Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D) has stated there will not be a "ramp up" of police enforcement (archive). The attorney general has left it to local law enforcement to close businesses, as her hands are full with price-gougers and con artists (archive).
The police cannot, at present, pull drivers over simply for being out during the shutdown (archive). Local police in the rural north and in Detroit suburbs have alike stated they will not be enforcing parts of the order (archive).

DEATH TOLL

The State added 55 previously-overlooked deaths to the total yesterday, Thursday, April 23.

MDHHS said:
*Note on deaths (04/23/20): Regular reviews of death certificate data maintained in Vital Records reporting systems are conducted by MDHHS staff three times per week. As a part of this process, records that identify COVID-19 infection as a contributing factor to death are compared against all laboratory confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Michigan Disease Surveillance System (MDSS). If a death certificate is matched to a confirmed COVID-19 case and that record in the MDSS does not indicate the individual died, the MDSS record is updated to indicate the death and the appropriate local health department is notified. These matched deaths are then included with mortality information posted to the Michigan Coronavirus website. As a result of the most recent assessment, today’s data includes 55 additional deaths identified by this methodology.

Detroit Metro (pop. 3,860,000 total; 1,796/sq. mi.; 694/sq km):*

27,233 confirmed / 2,532 dead

*** 95 statewide deaths were added on this day because of a review of the records. Presumably most were in Detroit, but I don't know exactly how many.

Some basic info about azithromycin. Among other bacteria, this medicine kills the h.pylori bacteria that cause certain stomach ulcers. Get a Z-pack of six of these pills, does the job quickly. Also good for treating known or suspected infections after certain major surgeries. One Z-pack does the job there, too. Inexpensive, can get it at any pharmacy.

Saw the above article about Michigan's Fuhrer. Doesn't matter. Bitch needs to be recalled. Get it done and get her boot off your necks, people of Michigan.

Imagine being this petty.

Don’t fucking drink disinfectant.

When I was little, my mum forced me to drink watered down Dettol to get the evil out of me; the baths in scalding water and bleach and the beatings with electrical flex having failed to do the job.

When my dad caught her, she had to go and live with my granny for a while “for a rest”.

Don’t try it yourself.

Exhibit a: argentiniggs whenever the subject of nearby britbong-owned islands comes up and they magically forget the fact they themselves are the loud and inexplicably proud decedents of mass murdering dagos and of the wops brought in to settle the now ethnically cleansed land.

Exhibit b: mexicans autistic enough to be upset they got kicked out of texas and californy

I suspect its one of these concepts that never really arises in general populations, only in either an ultraspergy nationalist fringe or an insincere performative outside element looking to push a narrative. Like how "NON WHITE PEOPLE NEVER CONQUERED OTHER LANDS OR HAD SLAVERY" took off only among the more autistic borat nationalists in the third world and loudmouthed edgewoke assholes in western media and academia, with the vast majority of the descendants of these non white empires and slavers having no illusion that this shit never happened and not giving a shit about it one way or another.
I was under the impression that the vast majority of people only remember history because they have to for class, or if someone makes an entertaining movie based on some historical event. So people just latch onto BS narratives like that (propagated no doubt by the aforementioned spergs) because it conforms to their biases and they can't be bothered to look into it, or because a movie presented it that way. And the left-right divide is largely determined by whether someone remembers "social studies" or Mel Gibson's filmography better+their own perceived self-interest.
