Because now that they think Un is supposedly dead it means his sister will take over and that she will free Best Korea and bring about prosperity while proving to be a better leader than evil Dr. Drumpfenshmirtz. David Pakman and Based Dilbert Merchant went at it on Twitter. I already knew Pakman had no self awareness, but even he should be able to see the irony of crying ad hominem directly after he called Scott Adams a bad faith actor.

Before Un grabbed power, many hoped his sister would be the one, as she's more "reasonable" (for a North Korean Kim dynasty member). Now that Un is MIA, it seems that she is now in control. Should be interesting.

I know, it really is idiotic even by dirtbag leftist standards.
China makes sense on a certain level despite their appalling human rights record since they are known for economic prosperity and the PRC is the main economic and geopolitical rival of the United States and the only one who can come close to matching the United States in power.
The fact that for most of the late 2000's and all of the 2010's, most of the experts kept predicting that China would be the one to supplant the United States in the world order did not help things.
Really, the one good thing that has come from this pandemic is that it got the masses to start to finally seriously question China's role in the world order. The fact that Silicon Valley and all the major media outlets are stanning for them is only making matters worse and raising more suspicion of the PRC.
Germany and the EU also make sense to idolize because of their social democratic welfare states and the fact that leaders like Merkel and Macron are every bit as self-loathing towards their own countries as most SJW's are.
There's also the hate speech laws and strict gun control laws, as seen with the UK.
Germany and Sweden in particular have very draconian hate speech laws and also criminalize wrongthink, albeit in a less visibly heavy-handed way than China or North Korea does.
