Trump Derangement Syndrome - Orange man bad. Read the OP! (ᴛʜɪs ᴛʜʀᴇᴀᴅ ɪs ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴋɪᴡɪ ғᴀʀᴍs ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡs ɴᴏᴡ) 🗿🗿🗿🗿

What the fuck is a Bob's Burgers thread doing talking about politics?

Someone posted a tweet from one of the show's actors, Eugene Mirmen, making fun of Trump (not actually) telling people to drink bleach. Funny guy but has a bad case of TDS. It was also a crosspost from r/LateStageCapitalism. Either way they butthurt I interrupted their partisan circlejerk on an A-political TV show's sub.

Forgive me if im wrong but arent a fair few people who work on that show colbert report alumni? I think it's also considered a bit of a lgbt darling for some of the characters portratyed on the show. I thought it was pretty funny until season three or so but it wasn't politics that turned me off it just didn't seem as funny.

Reddit loves "talking about" (read: spreading) r/politics talking points, and its staff, for one reason or another, are almost all leftists. It always them to build a site-wide echo chamber to drive out the r/the_Donald and other politically incorrect types.
I'm still waiting for r/politicalcompassmemes to get banned for "spreading hate" or whatever AHS believes the sub is. They've been whining about the sub since it launched and I'm honestly surprised its lasted so long.

"Y-you smell, stupy head!"

Damn, how will Donald Trump ever recover :story:

He was comparing opening the economy during COVID to a woman's queer son dating an HIV+ faggot yesterday and it made me chuckle.

Hey! The center of the aisle can be just as shit at times!

Fence sitters give all centerists/moderates a bad name.

I'm glad when I hear they've kept politics out of the show but I just haven't felt like watching any new eps in a while. Last episode I watched I think involved a pinic or some shit. I really wasn't feeling it.

Can't complain about the evil monkey in your closet if you let him go. Why do you think jerknalists rarely talk about Alex Jones/InfoWars anymore?

It's probably just the ultimate form of 'fuck you dad' to them, nothing more.

Sweden adopting what they accuse the dumb science-denying conservadrumpfs of wanting as their anti-coronavirus strategy has probably put the nail in that particular coffin.

The funny thing is, Sweden's "science denying" strategy is the best of all of them thanks to Cojones Virus being less deadly than expected. I foresee them praising it soon to decry Trump for "authoritarianism" or some nonsense.

Not so much...

Sweden is getting fucked way harder than any of it's neighbors because they're treating this more like people treated the Spanish Flu ie: downplay our outright ignore it.

Edit: This is very preliminary right now but countries that seem to be going for a herd immunity strategy are getting higher death rates. I'd wager that this is due to the fact that countries such as Sweden without stringent measures in place are less able to keep it out of vulnerable populations. So no, Shaka, their strategy isn't working better than their neighbors.

I only know this is true because Raz0rfist took at shot at the creator once with "I always wondered what the Simpsons would look like if every character was Lisa."

But at least the show creator is very hard left.

Not so much...

Only because it bugs me but...

Denmark pop 5+ mil
Norway pop 5+ mil
Sweden's? 10+ mil

Glancing at your numbers, sweden's seems to be around twice what the other two country's are which is to be expected - they have twice the number of people to infect.

Denmark and Norway have half the population of Sweden.

I do have a bit of a request. The Nook terminal has different colored items on different islands, and I am building a little park on my island. The Teacup Ride and Springy Ride Ons have several variations, and I want them all. I currently have Pastel and Gorgeous for the Tea Cup schemes, and Red and Yellow for the springy toys. I have plenty of bells to offer!

Eugene Mirmen but he and Kristen Schall seem to have it pretty bad too. Saw the later at an anti gun rally with a sign saying America needs to be more like Australia. They really do think we're a gun free paradise where shootings never happen don't they?

He's apparently a mental health aide assistant

I keep meaning to say exactly what you said. I can only imagine these people have some sort of action movie soundtrack stuck in their head, and is why they take their hatred of Trump so seriously
This is why I'm neutral on trump. I'm more annoyed when people IRL talks about trump.

And they have a way higher death rate. Five times higher, in fact.

But if the infection rate matches, that then means you need to look for another difference to be the cause of death.

I mean honestly think about it a moment: do you really think being surrounded by 4 walls is somehow hindering the virus? That if we shoved someone dying of wuflu into a locker they'd magically get better? The idea of the lockdown is to keep the first number low. If the numbers are maintaining rates, but deaths are different, then you can't go blaming the lockdown (or lack of) as at fault*.

(*UNLESS you are somehow obtaining a near magical spread - i.e. your lockdown is so good, the only ones getting tallied in that first number are those immune to the virus kill streak while the other folks are getting a more wide population spread. TL;DR you deliberately set things to 'cook' the stats. But if you believe any of the governments are able to pull that off... well I'm going to need to see some evidence of it.)

Per capita is what russian trolls use.
Hey! You can check my shiny metal ass.

This bot was mexican made.

We will see at the end of all of this. Part of the herd immunity strategy is that the bad times will be condensed rather than spread out. Sweden might be suffering a higher rate now but they might also functionally clear this and get out of the woods much much sooner than everyoen else.

There's a term for this and that term is "comorbidity."

A big part of the goal of controlling the spread of infection is to keep the infection from spreading to vulnerable populations. That's why they've been harping on the elderly, the infirm and the diabetic. When you adopt a herd immunity strategy, you give up the measures that let those vulnerable populations protect themselves and, as a result, more people die.

To think some still think the right-wing media is worse. In regards to us trying to defend Trump's statements:

"I heard what Trump actually said well before the (well deserved) memes started pouring out. The disingenuous part of right wing bullshit like this is that, when we clearly see that Trump suggested that "injecting disinfectant" was something "doctors should look into," if the media doesn't quote the EXACT word salad that came out of Trump's mouth, the Far Right will jump on them and say it's fake news or he was misquoted. No, it isn't, some of us have command of English and can paraphrase and understand paraphrased things. This is part of the Right Wing strategy of spreading disinformation, Trump says something profoundly stupid, and anyone who factually reports what was said (or factually reports that the companies that make Chlorox/Lysol made a PSA to not inject/ingest their product, even though they did) is "fake news" and "a hoax.""

So apparently, we are the ones who don't have all the facts, or something, because we don't understand paraphrasing.
"Some of us have command of English"

Oh gee! I hate to seem them have command on Spanish.
