I think that's what they tried to do in the first place, and it backfired pretty hard on them. People just weren't as horrified by Trump as they expected.

That said, if they approached him with less... horror and hatred they'd probably do a better job making fun of him and in the process discrediting the stupider things he said. He's attackable on plenty of political and personal issues, he doesn't have to be the worst genocidal dictator of the modern era...

That requires an emotional maturity he doesn't possess. The only difference between Trump and other lolcows is he can't attempt to DELETE FUCKING EVERYTHING to hide his stupidity. Instead, he attempts to reframe his responses to shift the blame to those who don't agree with him. It's not his fault he talks out of his arse constantly and looks like a tard. It's his critics who obviously can't understand his genius and that he's the Chosen One, the Greatest POTUS Ever in the History of Ever.

I'm not looking forward to this campaign. US politics has become so polarized, it's tedious to observe.
