I don't know what exactly gamers expect when they can't look at the first Last of Us and admit that it's at least a solid game.

Hopefully 2 will make cynical gamers appreciate the first game more.

It's a C-string zombie movie made by a bitter hack butthurt because hollywood didn't want his script for "Generic Zombie Movie #397: It's Totally Creative and Original Because We Didn't Call Our Zombies 'Zombies', Right?". It only makes the barest minimum effort to even try being a game, and even then, it's a 3rd person cover shooter, the bargain bin of video game genres. It does nothing unique, and doesn't copy anything well. If it's "THE PINNACLE OF VIDEOGAMES AS AN ARTFORM" as every single review when it came out claimed, gaming deserves to die.

Good gameplay? I mean, did you see how much they watered it down from the trailer they showed at 2012 E3? You got the bare bones, beta like version, of the gameplay. They took interesting enemies and turned them into damage sponges. The Last of Us was supposed to have intelligent AI that would use the environment to their advantage. People tend to forget, for some odd reason, how much Naughty Dog promised and didn't deliver on.

Also Amy Hennings UC4 was about Nate's brother wanting revenge, also No More Heroes 2 did the whole child of random guy who killed in the first one is now the main villain

I doubt that TLOU2 could even pull off the theme of pointless revenge half as well as NMH2, (that game didn't do it well either but the overly long last 2 levels and the goofy final boss hammers home the message).

Ok so supposedly giga troon beating Ellie isn't the final cutscene but the end of disk one and disk two picks up with us as Ellie again hunting down Big Mclargehuge.

That's slightly better I guess? The game still has huge problems the least of which is all the female characters looking like super mutants.

The entire list of available chapters was included with the leaks. With the lesbian throwdown happening towards the end.

The only reason there'd be 2 discs would probably be to separate the chapters you see on the list. Ellie is disc 1, Abby is disc 2 for example. Someone also mentioned that the scene where Ellie decides to leave her gf to seek revenge is actually after the bull dyke curb stomps the shit out of both of them, which makes sense seeing as there are 3 more chapters after they fight.

Unless this list comes from some early build of the game or something, Ellie hunting down Dyke Nukem will most likely happen in part 3. Assuming they even decide to make a part 3 after this garbage.

Nothing else has zombies quite like the ones in Last of Us, you don't seriously think the only thing that makes it different is they simply don't call them zombies? This is completely 100% a factually false criticism of the game.

Same as you calling it a "a 3rd person cover shooter", now maybe this is dependant on the difficulty, which I played on the hardest one, but in my experience the game was far more about stealth than shooting, in the rare instances I would get in a shoot out I would have barely any ammo, it's literally nothing like Gears of War or Uncharted.

And no, even I don't think it's "THE PINNACLE OF VIDEOGAMES AS AN ARTFORM" but I do think it's good and maybe even great.

There's fair criticisms of the game to be made but they should be based on what the game actually is, not made up stuff.

Subcontracting, getting the code, and then running off without paying is a nasty little trend that has developed in the IT community for the last few years. If true, this would be one of the first really big pushbacks.

He was basically some parasite/virus that gained sentience, trying to figure out his memories. When he discovered those memories are fake and the real person he was impersonating is way worse than he is and long dead, he was basically disgusted at the reveal. Even then, he still tries to protect the real deal's sister and better himself.

It's just that 2 made him hate humanity and wants to become a god... for what? 1 ended with him shrugging and basically going along with humanity with his techanically non-biological sister, so where did the hell did that behaviour come from?
TLOU 2 even got most of the beats of Prototype 2, right down to the "revenge plot" of James killing the main character of the series.

I mostly mean with the deal with the Son(?) killing the main characters, then the nuke finishing the rest of the cast off. Been a while since I played.

I still think 4 is great, well written, and I am very satisfied with the ending. Just because TLoU 2 is bad doesn’t mean all of Drukmann’s work is bad. Keep in mind he still had Amy’s characters, tone, and writing to work off of. And honestly I don’t think he’s a bad writer at all, just drank way too much koolaid and is now going down the gutter with unrestrained story decisions.

Thougn as much as I loved 4, I would have liked if Amy wasn’t screwed over, obviously.


On a positive note, with the way 4 ended there’s no way they’re going to bring back Drake and potentially ruin him. At least, I hope. Who knows if they end up making a game where his daughter is a lesbian.

You forget he isn't the only writer. These things are usually a collabortive work of about 5 people. He may be head Jüden, but he has others with him.
