For reference Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 launched at the same time and literally nobody cared that it had female characters including one of the most popular in the series. The difference being BO4 was a futuristic shooter.

I think having it as optional pleases both parties, look at Bethesda games for example. You look at fallout or elder scrolls screenshots for an hour and theres gonna be quite a few female avatars. Maybe thats part of the wider communities obsession with beautification mods and tig bitties, but again I think that speaks volumes about what people want from thier vidya.

Looking on the footage, I have two questions to ask:

1. Do we know when Abby gets shots in the stomach and head? Is there any possibility that it is an end sequence where players can be satisfied in killing off a psycho bitch? Or is there scar details on the character model to show they miraculously recovered from a gunshot to the head?

2. Is there any footage around of someone attempting to just peacefully circumvent the Fireflies at the end of the game, in particular this creature's Dad? If not, could some former TLoU sycophant please replay that part and record it? Got a feeling that detail might be important when saying I have no sympathy for Abby or her dead NPC dad.

Ellie's now a teenager and isn't killed by the golf club, but it's 99.99% certain that the straight white male protagonist Joel is. It's up in the air whether Ellie is beaten into a coma or killed, but the point is moot: you play as the malformed serial killer for a portion of the game.

And they're backpedaling on the leaks, not the content itself. They probably won't say anything story-related until after the game comes out, which gives them time to rally the typical Sony Defence Force.

And you are absolutely not wrong. With the way she's beating Ellie's face in, she'd be losing teeth, face a completely broken jaw and probably have a massive concussion, if not skull fractures from her face being slammed into concrete. Not to mention a seriously broken nose. If you've got a broken jaw, it needs to be wired shut. You've got some extremely serious injuries, if not massive brain damage from the beating she takes. Basically, its a death sentence in the apocalypse. So for all their kowtowing about 'realism', even if Ellie survived that fight, she'll probably die from complications and infection afterwards. That bitch looks like she's 200 pounds of straight pure muscle, punching a 90 pound teenager. They can say that Ellie's 'fine' afterwards, but its honestly implausible. There's no way you can take that beating and survive without immediate medical attention.

I have no idea. But its entirely possible its just from a 'game over' sequence instead of being part of the story since you play as the tranny for the rest of the game instead of a story thing.
