1- How does Abby find Joel and Ellie? There aren't any phones or internet and they move around constantly.

2- How does Abby know Joel killed her dad? As far as I remember from the first game Joel doesn't leave any witnesses alive.

3 - If Abby knows it was Joel specifically who knifed her old man what's her motivation to kill Ellie and the happy merchant clone she's banging?

1 - This has been answered, but I don't think anyone would ever follow her or she'd have the charisma to do so. "Uh, sorry he killed your dad, but we're not leaving our comfortable base stocked with food, water, protein, books and sex. Fuck off please, we're sick of hearing shit about your dad." There's no fucking way she gets anyone to do this in any sane and rational way except through fear and violence, but the game can't do that because it tries (and fails miserably to do that) to get you to empathize with her. But no sane individual would follow an angry person whose entire life devoted to revenge to the point where she no longer looks female and has been on anabolic steroids for years. Given the intricacies of corporate subsidiaries, I wouldn't be surprised if Sony Japan has no direct authority over Sony America except through the C-suite level. So unless the CEO or COO steps in, it's likely they can't do anything about it.

Its happened before, so there is precedent for it. They can write it off as Abby having some hallucination as she mentally breaks down, and it never happened because she was too broken from her dad being killed in front of her. I think they would have to sporadically leak cool shit themselves to make anyone ever trust another TLOU.

The problem is I don't think Sony of America would do this. Unless the Japanese step in and go 'what the fuck have you been doing?'. If the Japs step in, possibly. I'm putting it at a low chance. If the property is dead, its dead. If trust is completely lost, its hard to regain. So with the money they blew on the sequel, they might just conclude (and maybe rightly so) they'd be throwing good money after bad.

The remake ends with Joel and Ellie conquering them and deciding their own fate. They also kill Abby, preventing her from coming back to kill them later on.

Honestly, I kinda agree with you regarding the game's sales. Even with all the leaks, part of me doubts that its going to hit normie gamers who don't spend that much time on the Internet. It's easier to avoid spoilers than most people think, and a lot of that is just not going to these weird, autistic corners of the Internet.

The truth is that most people playing games don't follow gaming news in the first place. They know TLOU is a popular brand, they probably heard good things about the first game, so they'll buy it. Unless its so bad that everyone is turned off enough to get a refund, it doesn't really matter.

Its possible, but its hard for me to draw comparisons as the situation is completely unique. There aren't just text spoilers, but full cut scenes that back them up, along with game play.

So I don't really know. I'm on the fence about this, because we haven't seen it before. But Sony IS Sony and they are morons. The only comparison is ME 3, which destroyed the brand. Nothing this bad, this disrespectful has been done before and leaked about it months ahead of time.

But at the same time, people blindly consume things. But it didn't save Star Wars from destruction. So while it might sell, the TLOU brand is dead. Possibly even ND itself. Its not this game that matters, its the next one. But since they apparently have a decade long cycle, who the fuck knows.
