The situation is a hollow victory for his fans. Even though the debt has been discharged, they will never see any long-term improvements. His streams will still be the same shitty streams. No improvements in his office, his demeanor, or the content. Maybe some token bullshit now and then, like the vest thing, but nothing substantial.

What he should do is dump a bunch of money into improving his chair, his computer(s), his consoles, even his green screen that he never uses, even just put a bunch of money into the food he eats while gaming. He's just been given the license to do that.

Instead he will just miserably sit like a lardass piece of shit on the garbage chair he has, continue to play on shitty equipment, because he is just that much of a piece of shit, and otherwise completely fail to take advantage of the amazing free giant bag of money he just got from the literal fucking federal government, that he completely didn't deserve.

And he will squander that and continue on in his miserable fucking existence.

I'm really angry about that for some reason but I shouldn't be. I should just calmly view that as just Phil's punishment is just that he has to continue being Phil.

Fuck me. I'm still mad, though. I shouldn't be.

But I am. I bet some of you are too.

That's why I almost hope he hits that 100 vest streak and has to come up with something, and his fans know he'll have the extra dosh to make it something more special than a halfassed troll video made by a mod.

Besides SadBoiPhil, him putting himself into a situation where he might have to work or put in effort is usually my favorite of his antics. He always sounds like a bitter under-appreciated housewife talking to his fans about the work that they better be thankful for.

Speaking of which, does anyone have a clip or know where the video of him complaining about low views on his reviews n shit would be? I remember him specifically saying that the "views weren't congruent with the effort." Going down a list of all his efforts such as editing and text overlays. Was a camcorder aimed at the PC screen video

I mean I can understand being mad that the American economy and legal system is so fucked that the state gov't is willing to give lazy jackasses like Phil a pass at paying debts at someone else's expense. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't mad at the principle of the issue because it's a bitter reminder that karma's a lie, and you can't always count on assholes getting their just desserts.

That said I draw the line on wishing extra harm on Phil or anyone else involved in the bankruptcy since he's already plenty miserable and a slave to his own paranoia and ego. It's amazing and hilarious how depressed and ungrateful he is today despite being cut yet another lucky break of a lifetime.

Not to get overtly political, but there does seem to be a certain incentive in these left leaning states at the moment to over inflate their numbers. Considering the flip back and forth from Nancy, it could very well have been a top down decision to just let bankruptcies through, especially cases like his, that would be too time consuming to really weed through. Just another 130k added to the billions in hardship the state will claim to get more fed bucks. Or, like others have said, she could have really done her job, looked through those emails, investigated, and found some were not true, or over stated, and just dismissed the rest as not worth it. Regardless, don't go reporting her or any ridiculous nonsense like that, you don't have proof of anything she did or didn't do in either direction. Hopefully there will be the final report and we can see why the decision was made.

Also, @actually , since DSP did get his official bankruptcy, can we add to his description on the front page to include: "Successfully Bankrupt"? -or- "Financially and Morally "Bankrupt"? - or something like that? Maybe do a poll? I'd think that's an apt descriptor to add to his lolcow profile (also would totally piss him off).

Well not too long ago he let his fans know when this bankruptcy is finished along side the pleasure of paying for his honeymoon they might also be paying for a new gaming PC. Plus we have the new consoles coming out in a few months that his fans will be paying for one way or the other. Man put all this stuff together and it sounds pretty expensive. Might be better off putting it all on credit.

Alogs will be alogs. Do your part, my lovely little kiwis, by staying 50 ft away and laughing along with whatever happens, just don't engage Nancy or try to convince other people not to be alogs. If Nancy comes out and says "Hey you fucking retards stop emailing me, you're flooding my god damn Outlook!" then it will be hilarious. If someone from Twitter says "look guys look what I emailed Nancy, its the video of Phil jerking it in front of children," then it will also be hilarious and we can all laugh at them collectively.

Until then, just sit back and watch what happens from here.

this just happened, whatever it is

Still waiting to see what debts are officially discharged. I'm wondering if the unpaid state tax can be.
I assume he will get stuck with that, and he will still have the car to pay for and and Wakando. Midfirst is still waiting in the wings and once the CT Kahndo is sold off I would think they would sue him for the difference. Banks that buy other bank's mortgages that aren't being paid usually are pretty aggressive.

Looks like state taxes are not discharged, which makes sense. I'm still stunned that American bankruptcy law can lead to this outcome. A high income beggar who does nothing to curtail his personal spending (eating at restaurants etc), sloppy paperwork at best (fraudulent at worst). The guy would simply prefer to not pay his debts and to continue to live in his primary asset, the value of which he understated on the form.

Some debts are not discharged
Examples of debts that are not discharged are: ♦ ♦ debts for most student loans; ♦ debts for most taxes; debts that the bankruptcy court has decided or will decide are not discharged in this bankruptcy case; ♦ debts for most fines, penalties, forfeitures, or criminal restitution obligations; ♦ some debts which the debtors did not properly list; ♦ debts for certain types of loans owed to pension, profit sharing, stock bonus, or retirement plans; and ♦ debts for death or personal injury caused by operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

It's fun to think about the $50-70k debt that he's going to regain from Midfirst from the ~$130k that is going to get discharged, and we don't know how much of that is going to get discharged.

he either has to pay it, or if it's "written off" / not pursued by midfirst, he has to pay taxes on that deficiency as if it was taxable income

I doubt he would bring it up, but if there's some kind of begmergency, this will probably be why

he'll never get out of the endless loop of yearly taxes by paying the bare minimum, exactly the same behaviour as his credit card payments, I just hope the irs reject his 3rd or 4th attempt to default of on tax payment plan, so we can point and laugh

I guess the Twitter tards couldn't resist emailing Nancy, I guess it won't stop now.

Chad Pooptoucher vs the virgin noninterferers, fighting to ensure Boomer Nancy doesn't get flustered and decide to award Phil an even million.

A discharge is absolute. It expunges a debtor's personal liability relating to any past, present or future judgments on pre-petition claims. Midfirst can't come after Phil for the deficiency and they don't care either. They buy bad mortgages, the market value of those is the estimated auction price minus foreclosure costs. They probably broke even on this. They just buy tons of shitty mortgages and make their money off the few people they can bully into paying again. In the event of a bankruptcy, which happens more often than not, they get rid of the property so they can free up some cash and buy more shitty mortgages.
