I don't understand the logic for this. Surely, we can all enjoy bad movies that have problems. Defending them as if they aren't problems is the more autistic option.
I meant more in the 'objective' analysis of Mauler - he's hedging his bets because he knows how hated the prequels are, but can't reconcile that with his own feelings of the movies.

I always thought Qui gon was the hero of the first prequel film, with Obi Wan and Anakin splitting the protagonist roles in the films afterwards.
There was an interview with Lucas or possibly on a commentary track, that the main character of TPM was Padmé, but the story was told through the eyes of the Jedi, similarly to how ANH was told through the eyes of the droids. Regardless, the RLM argument that Episode 1 doesn't have a main character is fucking retarded.

He's made comments before about how he acknowledges the 'huge problems' with the prequels but can still enjoy parts of the movies, which is honestly worse than straight up defending them.

This is something I don't get either. I understand the idea of guilty pleasures but people with guilty pleasures completely enjoy the movies that they know are badly made. But this seems more like suppressing what you really feel about a movie to avoid pissing people off. The whole "I subjectively like this movie but objectively I know it's complete dog shit" is a weird fucking distinction to make because if you can acknowledge that it's filled with problems but you're not passionate about it then why do you like?

Also, did he actually see Parasite or is it on this list just because it ousted his 'best film evar' at the Oscars and realized people would give him the Robert Storms treatment if he complained otherwise?

Parasite is a shitty movie compared to other Korean films, including "Mother" and "Memories of Murder" from the same dude. He put this shit on the list just to prove he is not mad because Joker lost at the Oscars.

None of them deserved the award though, everybody knows the best film of the year was 1917.

TBF though, Parasite makes for a perfect introduction to Korean cinema for the uninitiated. There tons of better Korean movies out there, but Parasite can definitely make for a good "Baby's first Korean cinema" type film.

He looks like the bastard offspring of James Corden and Ross from Game Grumps.

To me, he looks like the Irate Gamer ate Movie Bob.

There's no shame in being an uggo, lots of people make popular videos about movies and video games while being ugly. Not a lot of them make fun of other people for being ugly while doing it though.

Could you imagine Rags face reveal after all the shit he's talked about pretty much everyone lol.

He revealed it in this cringefest.

Are there any channels that compile the best clips into a manageable format? I wanted to see what they were saying about MovieBob at one point, but five hours is just rețarded.

Tbf, he's not that bad looking. Far from good looking but at least his face is easier on the eyes than Calum's.

Rags seems to be the most normal looking when compared to MauLer and Wolf, although it's been a few years since he's last shown himself. For all we know, he could have gotten fat like MauLer and gone bald like Wolf.

I feel like the biggest issue with Mauler and the prequels is that it completely undermines his "objectivist" approach. A lot of the people he's responding to are doing the same thing: Finding something they enjoy in an otherwise bad movie. Why is he allowed to enjoy films for different merits, but not the people he is responding to? I seem to remember him once stating that enjoying the cinematography or special effects in TLJ was wrong because the movie is fundamentally flawed and those were just excuses to defend a bad film.
It just comes off as insanely hypocritical, and not very objective at all.
I was gonna say earlier in this thread, it won't surprise me if we get an Unbridled Rage video on Parasite for that exact reason. I sure hope we do, cause watching a nerd bro lose his shit over something not based on a comic book or lightsaber toy commercial not winning Best Picture is the only thing more entertaining than Parasite itself (and I say that as a huge comics fan myself).
Won't happen. He congratulated the film in a Twitter post he made to prove he wasn't mad about Joker. "Awesome film" I believe were his exact words. I don't for a second believe he would have watched it if it hadn't beat Joker, especially seeing as previous best picture winner Birdman is "too obscure."

I recall in the TLJ video, he said it was fine to "subjectively" like something no matter how minor it is. I think he's said he likes Batman and Robin, for example, because of Arnold.
However, you should "never try to argue for it" because it is "subjective" but what the fuck is wrong with someone being subjective about a movie they like?
I actually do support the idea that writing can be objective but I don't give a fuck at all if people subjectively or objectively talk about films. As long as you can show your argument and articulate your point, it's good enough for me.
But Mauler believes that being subjective with your take makes you the devil and I don't fucking get it. Can people not have an opinion?

I remember he was supposed to do a video on it, but he either took it down or didn't release it because he felt it wasn't good enough. He shut down his Patreon around that time because he felt he wasn't honoring his pledges to his donors, which says something about him that can't be said about MauLer and Rags.
I recently rewatched Wolf's final goodbye video, and at some point when he's talking about how much he didn't like his content, he mentions that he "felt like he was a thief" by taking people's money by making what he considered to be shit content. So yeah..Mauler and Rags definitely don't give a shit.

MauLer and Rags aren't even making content, let alone content worth paying for. Some day, Wolf might come to regret spending time with them when he realizes the type of people they really are.

Ironic how Mauler, who kept calling Rose from The Last Jedi "Shrek", is only a pair of tube-like ears away from being a proud swamp owner himself.

MauLer claims he wasn't making fun of how she looked, as if there weren't millions of other out of place characters he could have called her instead.

Does he really think people are this stupid enough to believe this bullshit excuse?

Agreed, I feel like Mauler and Rags and EFAP in general may have made his mental state even worse, considering how negative the whole atmosphere really is and how it's just shitting on people nonstop, it almost definitely impacted him badly. I do believe in his Reddit post during the Avatar stuff he mentioned how Mauler would literally ruin movies for him by listening to what he says, so I don't think it's a stretch to say he was easily swayed by them and perhaps even bullied by them a little (I know for certain Rags did this, considering you can sometimes see it in some EFAPs). I'm sure Wolf is already starting to regret being with them, although it seems like he still talks with Mauler, and Rags breaking up their friendship over the Reddit post probably helps Wolf see who they really are.
