Plans are made for economic reopening with social distancing, masks are required indoors. Discipline and social distancing prevails! With these we can keep the economy on life support and keep people fed, while keeping the virus from spreading too much.

The Order about these changes was published in the 18 March edition of Magyar Közlöny. Mihály Varga Minister of Finance and representatives of Hungarian Banking Association had a meeting regarding actions listed above.

We are also getting our "Orban Forints" , goverment aid to those whose work hours have been halved by economic restrictions.

I think reopening travel and eateries is early by half a year, but so far the goverment did a good job. If it explodes again I'm sure they'll clamp down again.

The light is green, the trap is clean you can enter Phase I on Friday. 4 Regions qualify today to do so, but 2 are close and might hit by Friday. Capital Region was 6/7 Tuesday but backslid today.

Phase I means you can open manufacturing, construction, curbside retail, tennis courts, drive in movies, agriculture, fishing and forestry. It also means you are 2 weeks out from being able to enter Phase II, where Regional Control Groups can pick and choose which businesses are essential to open to the public, if they deem those businesses to have submitted a proper plan for safety meeting as yet undefined critera.

Once in Phase I, said Regional Controllers will decide if and when their Regions qualify for Phase II (but no earlier than 2 weeks after 5/16). They can also roll back from Phase III to II, II to I, or I to total lockdown depending on the metrics. One issue is that 3 days into a Phase one or two metrics might slip in a given Region--do you shut it down? To avoid this, they have decided on a control region, that being North Country. So everyone will watch them and if their numbers slip, then dialing back in other regions will be on the table. Otherwise, at the close of 2 weeks, you either progress to Phase II, or go back to PAUSE. After another 2 weeks, Phase III.

I've been critical of Cuomo, but I'll say this--the process seems transparent and based in numbers as opposed to feels.They go through a lot to show you each Region's numbers and what they are based on. There's a lot of wiggle room for people to get fucked over but it seems a lot less arbitrary than other states. Also he seems to be right in saying NY's numbers are declining, while the rest of the country is going up. California for example seems to really be getting worse. Through all this he has been fairly consistent in saying he's never going to do things like restrict travel or do shelter in place home lockdowns, and he seems committed that we have to reopen and he wants to do it in a way that avoids a lot of backsliding.

But on the bright side, the MN Supreme Court has decided that White Minnesotans will be forced to learn native Moon Language in order to pronounce the name of a prominent and popular lake that's been in our history for the last 150 years. Surely this will end slavery and oppression for all time!

Here in Michigan, Governor Whitmer and Chief Medical Executive Dr. Joneigh Khaldun have decided not to give hard and fast numbers for reducing restrictions. They're justifying it on the grounds that high numbers coming from a nursing home or one workplace are different and require a different reponse from high numbers of community spread.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court has struck down Gov. Tony Evers' order shutting down daily life to limit the spread of coronavirus — marking the first time a statewide order of its kind has been knocked down by a court of last resort.

The state's highest court sided with Republican lawmakers Wednesday in a decision that curbed Democratic Gov. Tony Evers' power to act unilaterally during public health emergencies...

Republicans who brought the lawsuit had asked the justices to side with them but to stay their ruling for about a week so legislators and Evers could work out a new plan to deal with the pandemic. The justices declined to do that and had their ruling take effect immediately.

To put any limits in place, the Democratic governor and Republican-controlled Legislature will be forced to work together to deal with the ebbs and flows of the outbreak — something the two sides have rarely been able to achieve before.

With no COVID-19 policies in place, bars, restaurants and concert halls are allowed to reopen — unless local officials implement their own restrictions. That raises the prospect of a patchwork of policies, with rules varying significantly from one county to the next.

It remains to be seen whether the Governor and legislature will compromise on any replacement shutdown orders/ reopening plan.

The state government has changed gears hard this last week. At the beginning of the month the reopening plan called for all customers to have masks to receive service, and said that outside of offices and retail spaces, all other businesses will remain shut through the month.

Then a week later it was announced the state would have to cut at least $770 million out of their budget. Suddenly the mask requirement for customers was revoked.

Like magic, suddenly restaurants, massage parlors, tattoo parlors, sports arenas, and government offices are on schedule to reopen later this week or early next week. Schools have gone from "we're not planning on reopening until further notice" to "here's our plan for students returning in the fall". Funny how money talks. The states calling for shutdown into july are going to get his HARD economically, they know this is utterly unsustainable. Everyone who is out and about is calling for the lockdowns to end, and resistance to mask wearing and glove wearing is spreading.

The ruling, for now, immediately throws out the administration's tool to control the disease for which there is no vaccine and comes at a time when Evers has already begun lifting some restrictions as the spread of the virus slows down for now.

It will force the Democratic governor and Republican-controlled Legislature to work together on the state's response to the ebbs and flows of the outbreak — a dynamic the two sides have rarely been able to achieve before.

Well I guess if there's no vaccine and the restrictions were due to loosen up some soon they shouldn't have even bothered to decide if it was even permissible or something. And the second paragraph's got me wondering if I'm adequately stocked up on popcorn. (No. There's not enough on the planet.)

The WHO just released a statement that this virus may go from "pandemic" to "endemic." People are absolutely losing their shit on Twatter over it, letting the panic fully set in as they are ready to let the government force us into a "permanent new normal."

Thirdly, this is my prediction: the Chinese Coronavirus is the modern day Spanish Flu. This Spring has clearly been the peak of it, but that doesn't mean it's going to go away in the immediate future. Over the next several months to couple of years, this thing is going to mutate into something not at all severe like the Spanish Flu did. In order for that to happen, though, countries and cities need to open up! Herd immunity, y'all.
