Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

I was aware of Adam before I knew about CG because of his JBP videos.

The dude is a cypher. He's just putting his finger in the air and trying to go where he think the wind blows strongest. If it was 2013 he'd be full on SJW I'd expect.

If I gave a shit I'd check out what he was doing before the right started pushing back and I'd expect he was pretending to be a full on latte sipping hipster SJW. I don't think there's an honest bone in his body. I also think Ro figured it out quick that Friended would do Ethan or more importantly Ro himself dirty if there was a dollar in fucking his new allies. But he's a sycophant which is a weakness of Ethan's so Adam remains for now.

At least that's my theory.
Your theory sounds solid to me, Adam Friended looks like a latte sipping hipster SJW I couldn't think of a better description of him.

Zacks latest video had me pissing myself laughing.

"Steven Colbert is about as funny as the fricking Holocaust."

My fucking sides!!!!:lit::lit::lit::lit:

Timestamp included in the link.

Clipped for prosperity since Colberts Jew, so he might catch some flak for that one.

EDIT: @SuiSui1 I wasn't referring to you as the blackmailer, it was some guy called Cryptic Comics who was asshurt at Ethan demanding refunds from him because the moron maxed out his mothers credit cards buying Ethans frog books. He planned on reselling them on ebay for a profit but since Ethan was a year late he was raking up 17% interest on the credit card without being able to offload the books.

Honestly, Kickstarter firing that “outreach lead” of theirs could mean pretty bad things for Frog-CG’s whole grift, if Kickstarter becomes even slightly more lenient with the comics that appear on its platform.

IndieGoGo’s browse feature is genuinely fucking awful, putting far more onus on the project creator to shill their comic wherever they can, including whatever third-rate livestreams they can get a few minutes’ airtime on. It works perfectly for the big established creators like Zack, Doug, and Ethan himself, because they’re always at the top due to the “Trending” algorithm. But smaller creators have to deal with getting their books stuffed between already-completed projects from six months ago with InDemand campaigns, projects that aren’t even out yet, and most bizarrely, projects that have literally ended without InDemand campaigns, yet still show up in their main comic section for some reason.

Hey, but maybe they can get a minor bump from people browsing “just launched” or “ending soon” when they’re starting/ending their campaign? Not exactly, because both sections are literally just “projects launched this week” and “projects ending this week” sorted by that same trending algorithm. So their campaign, just barely needing a few more backers with a couple hours remaining, could be pushed below a bunch of more popular comics with a full week left because the algorithm says they should be.

Comparatively, Kickstarter has four extremely simple, effective methods to sort on mobile, the platform that I’d expect most purchases to be made on because of the Apple/Google Pay options:

1. Magic, staff picks plus algorithm.
2. Popular, which seems to just be the same algorithm but with a slightly different method of sorting.
3. Newest, all projects in chronological order, sorted by most recent.
4. Ending Soon, all projects sorted by end date.

Having those last two makes the site a way easier browse than IGG could ever be, and gives smaller projects a better chance. (The browser version has three more, Most Funded, Most Backed, and Near Me, but those are self-explanatory.)

As a side-effect of all this annoyance, though, I noticed something about both platforms that makes the comparisons just a bit spicier: The actual success rate per comic project.

Right now, 31 comic projects on Kickstarter are ending in the next seven days. 84% of those projects are already fully funded.

At the same time, 16 comics projects are ending on IndieGoGo in the same span of time. Surely, the supposedly-thriving comics community on IGG could get them to a similar percentage, especially with half the projects? Well, the final total comes out as...

44%. Just a bit more than half the Kickstarter rate, and even that’s being boosted by both Cyberfrog and Robotoad ending in the next two days. Outside of the big CG names, the chance to actually get a book funded on IGG seems pitiful compared to KS.

I’ll say that being at the top of the CG pyramid is certainly goddamn profitable, though. The top comics Kickstarter right now(not counting a how-to-draw book) is a beautiful-looking 148-page graphic novel being sold for $40, yet is only making roughly 15% of what Cyberfrog 2 is.

Cheers for bring me up to speed on Adam, I'm guessing this is why Warcampaign is weary of him if he has a history of carpet baggery.

That's why I tagged him... ;)

Yeah I think we all know what Ethan was intentionally doing, I was just reporting on his "clarification" from an objective stand point. Clearly he got blowback and had to turn about face once he realized gloating over a shitbitch like Tess Fowler having cancer was probably bad optics.

I doubt it, Liam is a pathological liar imho.

Also I'm not sure if this has already been brought up, but I noticed an Indiegogo campaign thats been running.

>Hi, I'm Michael Finn and along with comic creators Ron Frenz and Barry Kitson (our pencilers), Mark Waid (our editor) and a host of other comic creators, we are making an original 100+ page graphic novel in full color featuring dozens of super-heroes and villains from Comic's Golden Age, the 1940s and 1950s.

Sean Gordon Murphy plans to launch his campaign on Indiegogo and never hears the end of it, yet Mark Waid is involved with this one and not a cry of outrage from the usual suspects.

Curious about the plot?

>The story takes place in the middle of World War II. Hitler, advised by Misery, the Claw and others, has hatched a plan to assassinate President Roosevelt using the combined power of some of the biggest villains of the past, including the Clown, Mastermind, the Rat, the Scarlet Skull and the saboteur, Frost. The only thing standing in Hitler's way is The Liberty Brigade, a team comprised of the Blue Flame, Cat-Man, Kitten, the Mad Hatter, the Green Turtle and three brand new heroes: Mr. Freedom, the Bill of Rights and the National Anthem.

Oh no, its every bodies favorite villain... Hitler... again...

At least their goal is reasonable.
The comic looks like utter trash. Even worse than old Archie super hero comics or the worthless Malibu comics.

Fuck the carbon copy archetype comics & movies like Brightburn, that are some asshole's take on Marvel & DC characters. They are parodies.

I'm not sure why the animosity between Ro and Adam Friended exists but I'd wager it has something to do with Adams personality, the guy is extremely unlikable as a human being. It appears to me he jumped into the movement late while currying Ethan's favor so perhaps Warcampaign views him as a carpet bagger, grifter or maybe Ro is jealous of Adam being elevated by Ethan. Considering WC acts as a group to police CG as a whole I think they view Adam as a potential threat to the movement in some capacity, I'm not really familiar with Adam's history or what goes on behind the scenes so maybe Ro knows something we don't.

I see you are also a student of Kreia, respect. :semperfidelis:

Not in this thread but it couldn't be very hard to obtain since some CG sperg is claiming to already to have it. From memory the only people doxed in this thread are Renfamous and some minor other SJWs, then some guy who was attempting to blackmail Ethan and Ethan himself in the Drama-Hanger On thread.

Yeah the Alfie Norris saga has unusual similarities to what people in "anti/ex/OG" CG claim to experience now. Interestingly if you look close at one of Alfies screenshots you can see Richard C Meyer taking part in trolling him. Most was done by four of Ethans friends, although I'm unaware whether or not they are active in Comicsgate.

You can check Edwin Boyette's channel, he tracks a lot of Indiegogo/kickstarter data in streams called "By the Numbers" he also has google docs with spreadsheets that automatically update.
Adam Kish AKA Adam Friended and Adam Strange is a mega-leftist. socialist, atheist...all of it. He used to pretend to be Hollywood filmmaker guy but he's just some nothing who has participated in fan flicks made in the Hollywood area.

EVS plays conservative types. Kish would not suck EVS' ballsack if he thought EVS was a real Trump supporter. EVS would not give a boost to Kish is EVS' ideology is what he says it is.

EVS recently said that it would be funny if before Mike S Miller's MAGAnificent came out, Trump lost re-election. He would want the democrats to win just to damage Mike S Miller. Kinda like how he wishes the comic book industry would die just because it shit him out of it.

No Trump supporter would say that. No legitimate adult would hope the direction of the country would be changed just to satisfy their hate. EVS might look like a old sack of shit but his mind is that of a bi-polar child.

This is trying to mimic the old Atlas (pre-marvel) Invaders group with some DC shit shoved in, but I already have no interest given who's attached to it and the fact there is no creativity in it at all. Pallette-swapped Android Torch, Batman, Bucky, and Minuteman does not do it for me. Especially with that very lazy and uncreative action run for them.

It does not at any point feel like or look like a Golden Age comic. No insane violent bullshit or whacky as shit powers like being raised by chickens and learning to hurl special eggs. Hell, cheap out for it; make it four colors like the old shit used to be.

Hard pass.

I liked it better when it was called Freedom Force.
Freedom_Force.jpg

I miss that game. Using Skins to make your favorite superheroes team up in a single game was great.

I'm not sure which character is ripping off which character but if Freedom Force actually is being ripped off of, I've got to say I'm impressed by the laziness.

It's one thing for video games to rip off of comics. I can't think of a lot of times where comics rip off video games.

The characters in the book are actual Golden Age superheros from the 40's and 50's.

So I'm thinking Freedom Force was actually the rip-off.

We're at 13,293 copies of CYBERFROG 2: REKT PLANET sold so far, with 11 hours to go!

BackerKit predicted we'd land at $790K at it's final prediction last night. Maybe! We're at $788,695 with 6701 backers right now!

This is the biggest crowdfunded comic book of all time. Much bigger than BLOODHONEY, and it'll go on to beat ORDER OF THE STICK before I close the campaign out.

Not too bad. Still, once we reach $800K, Kyle Ritter is getting an immediate cash bonus of $10000. Make sure to back it, Kiwifarms!

So you lost around a third of the original buyers. Oh, and the remainder just bought more than one copy like good paypigs.

Okay.

This is the biggest crowdfunded comic book of all time*.

*specifically using a definition of “comic book” that does not include graphic novels because Doug’s EWJ comic is still a thing

Fixed that for you.

Edit: Wait a second... Cyberfrog 2 is 48 pages. While there are absolutely comic books that length, it’s worth bringing up that one of the most famous graphic novels of all time, The Killing Joke, was also that exact page count as well. So unless you want to get really far into the definition of comic book vs. graphic novel, it’s looking like you can’t even quite claim that unless you want to argue... like, staple-binding or some shit.

You could say he's making more efficient use out of the existing buyers. :sonichu:

I would hesitate to count the campaign's backer count as the true number of Cyberfrog Fans, there are doubtless more ebay customers and late comers that will hitch on to their chance to grab a copy in later campaigns. And some folks likely only want an omnibus edition. Comic book floppies are pretty anachronistic. And paying for a product that doesn't exist yet doesn't suit everyone.

I only buy my Cyberfrog comics from street vendors when I visit Kiev.

I already beat EWJ though. It raised $696K in it's two month run.

You need me to beat his 5 month total of $815K tonight?

OK.

So insecure he needs to peacock about how he has a smaller and smaller crowd who only buy so many copies "to own the libs, trigger the libs", or because they're mongos who speculate.

And then has to peacock harder and harder and make up new reasons why he's important and not an irrelevant and lazy hack.

Remember, this guy thinks Mitch is great for grifting people who gave him their money for their comics.

Live by the InDemand sword, die by the InDemand sword. By definition, you can’t say it’s the most crowdfunded comic until it is, and even then you’d only be the most crowdfunded comic book on IGG, considering the Stick books that I personally didn’t even know existed until you yourself brought them up.

I am curious to know why a man in his 50's with a wife and children lurks on Kiwifarms spamming F5 to respond to people talking negatively about him.

Also what is with your obsession with Doug TenNapel? Did you want to meet him behind a pizza parlor but he turned you down? Just get Andrea to cut her hair short, wear some glasses and let you call her Doug in the bed room.

Reminder that he didn't have an autistic tantrum and do this with Billy Tucci, despite how he also did not thank him either. Also a reminder that Ethan doesn't actually care if you call people dick sucking faggots given he's called people that too, so the "antigay" thing is also a bust.

So that leaves only this option really. Well that and entitled jealousy that Doug isn't a burn-out who hates his job and who actually had successful IPs he personally made that even normies know about. That might be it.

50's? I'm 45 years young. And very heterosexual.
