Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

What a fantastic night!

$854,756! We're now within distance of a million dollars, and we'll get there in the next few months of InDemand funding.

Thanks everyone who backed CYBERFROG 2: REKT PLANET here on KiwiFarms!

Translation: "$854,756! See?!?!?! I'm a worthwhile human being! Please love me anons on an obscure forum!"

Money can't buy you dignity FROG.

At the end of the day the only people who like you are people ignorant to who you are and the kind of low IQ scumbags nobody want's to share air with like mommy beating Liam, delusional scumbag Micah and Matt & Ashley Lewis.

You used to attract comics fans Ethan but now you just attract flies.

At least there's the money but it won't make you worth knowing.

Why does it upset you so much?

Upset?

Ethan is the kind of guy I love to watch and since he comes here seeking approval I enjoy telling him what I see. He is what he is and his followers are what they are.

Why do you feel the need to ask?

There's a few people who believe that that should be them with the million dollar campaign and if not for EVS it would be. Seems delusional.

My beef with EVS is the unnecessary gay-ops that threaten to bring the whole thing down for everyone else and the insult to intelligence by pretending that he didn't encourage some very sleazy things to be done on his behalf.

He comes here to troll the fuck out of you. And it seems like it is kinda working. 🙄

If you say so. Perception is reality after all.

I used to have a beef with EVS pretty much the same as yours but now I look at it as damage done. Anything good that might have come out of the CG thing died some time ago.

Now it's just fun to watch the car wreck. The guy who caused the wreck coming here to tell us there is no car wreck is an added bonus.

You're the one responding to literally everything he posts, often with banal nonsense. 🤷‍♂️Seems like my perceptions in this instance do in fact reflect reality.

You're a bit like one of those people on Twitter who fart out some silly reply every time Trump tweets. Not that Trump's Tweets (or EVS's posts here) aren't usually predictable, ridiculous or often a bit of both. Still bait. And you bite.

It met its goal of 50K in less than an hour and a half.

Lets take a closer look at the campaign. SGM is offering a 100 page softcover for $30 with a digital option of $10. Backing a physical tier provides you with a free digital anyway, which is always nice.

Already his done what Comicsgate has failed to do and that's provide value for money, he also has a stretch goal to increase the books size by another 22 story pages.

I personally might wait for the hardcover, it would make a nice addition to the shelf alongside Bigfoot Bill, Earthworm Jim and The Expendables (when it arrives.) The only thing I can criticize is the wait time since the campaign has a fulfillment date of March 2021, but the digitals will go out in February. Given that SGM intends on delivering a 122+ page book, I guess the wait time is reasonable.

Story synopsis:

>The Plot Holes are a squad of fictional warriors who transport themselves into the pages of other books, using their unique skills to save the plots in order to stop them from being destroyed. And Cliff is their newest recruit, a comic creator who's just realized his world isn't real—in fact, it's a complete fiction that literally exists inside a novel. The other members are misfits like him, pulled from unpublished books that couldn't be saved: a manga samurai, a barbarian tiger, a kid from a comic strip, and a vampire assassin. Outclassed by the other members, Cliff sets out to prove his worth to The Plot Holes as they fight to save as many books as possible. The only thing stopping them is Surge, an ex-member who's gone rogue—not only is he threatening to destroy the digital matrix containing them, he threatens to destroy the database of digital libraries all over the world!

>On its surface, The Plot Holes is an adventure story that treks through dozens of different genres with a wide range of characters, offering something for every kind of reader. But on a deeper level, The Plot Holes asks meta-textual questions like no comic ever has: if Cliff knows he's not real, then why does he want to survive? Is the team really “alive” if they only exist in our imaginations? And what happens to them if they die?

Definitely sounds different, its not just another capeshit story or a TMNT ripoff.

How does it fair so far to previous campaigns?

*The Expendables made $25,995 in its first day with 405 backers. :agree:
*Jawbreakers Grand Bizarre made $27,371 in its first day with 640 backers. :agree:
*Iron Sights 2 made $31,443 in its first day with 679 backers. :agree:
*Cash Grab made $47,243 in its first day with 566 backers. :agree:
*Black Flag made $55,242 in its first day with 615 backers. :agree:
*The original Bloodhoney made $66,898 in its first day with 1168 backers. :agree:
*Earthworm Jim made $95,233 in its first day with 952 backers. :agree:
*Rekt Planet made $318,715 in its first day with 2468 backers. :disagree:

Edit: Updating the campaign totals it beats as the first day progresses.

That's a dick move for SGM to launch his campaign while you're in the middle of your gloat tour. It's on pace to beat your two-month achievement in less than 24 hours. He couldn't even give you a day of happiness before the beclowning?

When does Warcampaign go after him and his family? I hope he didn't back Vestige!

It looks like it will pass 60K in the next few minutes.

It should blow past Bloodhoney and EWJ's first days easily. I don't think anyone is beating 319K anytime soon unless they have a name like McFarlane.

I'm puzzled why he'd choose IGG over KS. I think he would have broke 100k by now if he'd chosen the platform with the larger pool of shoppers.

His campaign is a mess tbh, and I think it's going to hurt him.
I disagree his creeping up on Bloodhoney's first day total in under 2 hours. His page is very quick to read and has 8 perks, two of which are sold out. He lists the books page number, stretch goals, plot and writers/artists attached to the book in an easily read format that would take minutes to skim over.

If you want an example of a campaign page thats a mess check out Billy Tucci's Shi.

That campaign had 58 perk options and it would take close to half an hour to read his main page description.

I'm not sure if it will beat Rekt Planets first day total, backerkit has it trending at 1.3 million but those totals are always wrong. Rekt Planet was trending 3.5 million and made nowhere near that amount.

He listened to Zack and Ethan because the Comicsgate paypigs boycott Kickstarter, but I agree he'd probably do better on KS. Personally I use both IGG and Kickstarter. Kickstarter is run by SJWs and Indiegogo is owned by the Chinese, either way the commies win.

Yeah. I think CG would have backed him on KS just like they backed McFarlane.

I'm not sure he was listening to Ethan and Meyer though. I think it might have been Doug T who he listened to about IGG versus KS. Doug didn't do huge numbers on his reissue of EWJ on KS and I think that made him nervous about using it as a primary platform for first launches. He said as much on stream once.

The KS audience is massive though and I think Murphy is leaving a lot of money on the table if he's trying to capitalize on the CG crowd over the more mainstream KS crowd.

Edit: I agree about Backerkit being wrong if for no other reason than the projection being based on what looks like a few minutes of data at this point.

Fixed that for you.

No, he's saying he's going to inevitably blow past Earthworm Jim.

Hard to argue against it at this point.

A good story is what provides value for money, not necessarily the page count. Something that I think EVS does not fully appreciate. A book with satisfying story and good art is invaluable and one that is lacking on one or both counts is worth very little.

And yeah you definitely want plenty of pages if your paying 25 dollars plus shipping for a book, some Comicsgate projects have provided that, some have fallen short of what I would consider enough book for the buck.

I'm going to back Plot Holes but the description kinda concerns me. It's very hard to craft a satisfying story with this sort of 4th wall demolishing meta-plot, in my opinion. I gets in the way of immersion and escapism when the characters know their part of the story.

The concept is ambitious but White Knight might have been the best written cape book of the last several years. I think SGM is probably up to the challenge.
