If they were to do that, they would be explicitly saying that the country is no longer a democracy and would require a violent revolution to overthrow. That might fly with the extremist progressives they're intent on courting, but that would alienate practically all independents, who make up about 40% of the population. The democrats might be pants-on-head exceptional, but that would be a negative-IQ level move.

I would agree generally that in such an election Michelle Obama as a candidate would pull in a good number of votes. But I think they would end up losing more votes than any possible gains and would have a worse chance with the current rules against an incumbent, Trump or otherwise. It's just a bad move.

I don't think Michelle wants it. She's kept out of the spotlight for the most part. If she wanted to, she could of pulled a Hillary and immediately reentered politics (and as mich as I dislike Michelle Obama, she's more likeable than Hillary will ever be). I think she wants to be a celebrity, and is happy where she's at for now.
