I or somebody else has probably said it before and will say it again, but what exactly can be accomplished in the US comic book industry anymore? People are more tuned into other sources of entertainment than actual comic books. There is a greater chance for people reading it/getting once some kind of very popular adaption of a comic book(s) is made (so for example a new Spawn animated movie could inspire some people to get into Spawn comics). How are you exactly supposed to thrive in such a medium (and that's forgetting all the gate-keeping)? Answer is you don't. At least not particularly much.

Mainly because they make high quality albums for general audiences, instead of overprized pamphlets for 40yo manboys.

Japan makes anthology magazines collected into cheap volumes. At $7 for 200 pages mangas are a steal. And they have different magazines for different age groups, not a catch-all Marvel universe for manbabies and tumblerinas crossing over. The US comic book industry can be salvaged, but this means that 90% of comic professionals will be out of a job, this is why it is not changing and tries to be saved by Holywood

Cecil’s star has been fading since he got publicly kicked out of his sister’s house. I get the feeling Liam or someone in WC is going to do something to push him over the edge.

The only other possible contender I could think of is Donal, but considering he’s been hanging low with the lateness of his book, it won’t be as big a blow up as the others.

Anna's a case of Findom. She's got her paypigs, so she fits right into the grift of CG. I think she's got psychological issues stemming from her developmental years. Most women tend to prefer dating up from their age, but she extends that to her social circle of hanging around a bunch of bearded fat bozos that are much older than her.

Frog hasn't done it. No one inside or outside of Comicsgate (including the mainstream) has done it. Zack provided a great impetus for CG in the first place, but these days he's more interested in receiving the nebulous status of a "real publisher" along the lines of IDW or Fantagraphics then answering the questions you pose, and Zack was the most flexible and adaptive of all the inceptors of the original idea of Comicsgate. It's a lot to put on one man's shoulders.

Stan Lee had Marvel to work with. Its not whether it could be turned around, its that DC, Marvel, and Image aren't interested. That's 85 percent of the top IP.

Honestly, I don't see how CG (or crowdfunders generally) ever solve the whole shipping conundrum, especially to countries outside burgerland. Just too expensive to interest normies. Its a pity they can't somehow hook into Amazon Prime and print the books (somehow) via Print on Demand and ship 'em a lot of places for free or at minimal cost, but I doubt that is going to be a feasible option any time soon, if ever. For a whole lot of reasons. To say nothing of the fact that that would mean not collecting all the shekels to produce the book up-front.

But I also thought CG would have gone the GamerGate route by this point and be largely in most people's rear-view mirrors, existing more as a media boogie man than anything else. It has obviously held up better than that. Whether it continues to? Who knows? Maybe some solution will somehow present itself, and @FROG goes on to become the next Ted Turner level media mogul.

EVS likes to use the net to troll and for fakery. He hated Trump then Trump won and he started using Trump as a device to troll leftists and it blew up in his face. Was he a real Trump supporter or just pretending to be so he could troll people in the comic book industry? Whichever the case, and I think he was just trolling, he didn't realize just how butthurt leftists would be after Trump's win.

It was already apparent to DC that he was never going to be one of the top artists and sales draws in the industry. He was never going to be a John Byrne type who could all by himself take a poorly selling comic and make it a top seller. He would never have the respect and big name drawing power of McNiven because his art was not as pleasing to the eye and it was clear, he had went as far as he was going to go, he was not improving and was actually deteriorating. He tried drawing realistic like the masters: Bolland, McNiven, Adams and Reis,. But his drawings looked like Bolland had inked the amateur drawings of an 11 year old kid.

He had already went to Marvel and killed their interest in him. Other creators were refusing to work with him. His trolling about Trump was going to hurt sales of any comic he would do for them. He was not an asset to DC but was a huge liability. He was Drew Bledsoe when the Pariots realized he was never very good and was never going to be. So considering all those things...DC knew he couldn't hurt them by helping the competition and he was an increasing pain in the ass for them.

Then a DC employee complained that EVS harassed him. And at that point, DC cut his dead weight loose. He seemed to think that even if DC editors hated him, he was too valuable to be dropped or fired by DC Comics. And when DC did let him go and no legit publisher wanted him, his bubble was burst. All the staged fan following crap, the rise of his ego, his delusions about his worth to DC Comics...it all came crashing down.

And so now he lives in a knew delusional world where he ran off to IGG, sold comics to a few thousand people, and is somehow hurting DC and Marvel Comics. He went from one imaginary world to another. His ego has been re-inflated as he repeatedly points to this number and that thing that supposedly proves he is a big name in comics. Now each day is about keeping alive EVS' new delusion and revived ego.
