Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

Most pandemic flu starts in China. I’ve seen an 80% figure floating about but funnily when I go to google it’s no longer visible.
China has horrific hygiene and horrific animal husbandry practices and horrific crowding. Add in hogs living next to people and wildfowl (most flu originates first in birds) and youve got the perfect bioincubator for flu. If China had farming and hygiene like, say, Norway, only a small proportion of that spillover would happen.
China is absolutely culpable wrt corona. And many flu outbreaks .
Try using DuckDuckGo.com instead of pozzed Google. Hell, even Bing censors less than Google.

This is EXACTLY what needs to be happening right now. Should have happened even earlier. Put some little Hitlers in their place. But Numb-nuts Newsom a "hero"? No fucking way. He's a exceptional piece of shit.

Ya think? Ya think? Ya fucking think? The wise person would never download any contact-tracking app.

Worth a look.

Minnesota religious leaders are telling the governor and attorney general they're tired of being shit on.

Other than Jonah Goldberg, David French and the rest of the gonservative semen suckers (and leftard BDMS types), it is rather obvious that all the governors did was create an economic depression. Flattening the curve was a fool’s errand: pay me now or pay me later situation that only delayed herd immunity. They are legends in their own minds and should all be held accountable for their idiocy.

No state doxs gay/lesbians/LGBTBBQSAUCE people if they test positive for HIV/AIDS, which, to this day, is fatal. Wu Flu is not. Not only is it unconstitutional, it's counterproductive because once everyone realizes they'll be doxed, they won't be tested.

People in WA are already being doxed for filing complaints against "non essential businesses" from remaining open or doing anything they aren't allowed to do. The people who filed them had the option of doing it anonymously, but proudly provided their names, phone numbers, and addresses. Now everyone has access to that information and they are boo hooing hardcore.

These three individuals told KUOW they didn’t realize their names — and contact information — would be subject to public disclosure. A fourth person said she didn’t believe anyone besides state officials would go through the trouble of obtaining the complaints.

Many discovered that wasn’t the case when they received a mysterious email on May 6, warning that their personal information was being circulated online. The email was sent by treamaiden@gmail.com, which appears to now be defunct.
“You may or may not have recently sent a complaint to Jay Inslee of Washington state," the email reads. "Recently I came across your information by what I believe may have been a leak of everyone who turned in a business.”
Ten minutes later, harassing phone calls came rolling in for the Kirkland woman, who asked not to be named in this story, citing concern for her personal safety. Kirkland was the first hot spot identified amid the U.S. coronavirus outbreak.
Some of the emails and voicemails were mean-spirited, others threatening.
“I just got news that you knocked on my business," said a male caller with a seemingly affected New Jersey accent. "You got 48 hours to get the f--- out of Washington, or I’m coming for you and your loved ones.”

This will discourage people from participating in any of this bullshit hopefully. I think it's hilarious, these people got exactly what they deserved, and that never happens in real life.

Circus Sweden: Eugenics Boogaloo
90 per cent do not receive hospital care - die in elderly homes

Far more than half of the total 3,661 who died in covid-19 in Sweden are in municipal care. 90 percent of the dead in elderly homes have died in the home - not in hospitals. It shows figures Sörmlands Media requested from the National Board of Health and Welfare. "Shameful," says the geriatrics professor.

In a series of publications, the magazine has shown that the guidelines drawn up by the National Board of Health and Welfare may have led to people being prioritized away from care they would normally receive. This is despite the fact that we have not yet reached the ceiling for care. Social Minister Lena Hallengren, Chairman of the Regional Board Monica Johansson and Chief Medical Officer Marie Bennermo commented on the newspaper's review on Wednesday. In common, they meant that no one has yet been sold away from care - if there is a need for it.

To get a correct picture, Sörmlands Media has requested statistics for deaths in covid-19.

The statistics from the National Board of Health were presented on May 20, showing partly how many people who totally died of covid-19 and lived in elderly housing or had a home service. Partly how many of these died in hospital.

The statistics from the National Board of Health were presented on May 20, showing partly how many people who totally died of covid-19 and lived in elderly housing or had a home service. Partly how many of these died in hospital.

Statistics for Sweden show that very few people who fall ill in covid-19 in the elderly are cared for at one of the country's hospitals at their death. 90 percent of these have died in their elderly homes. For people with home care who died in covid-19, statistics show that 30 percent died outside hospitals. Corresponding figures for Sörmland show that just over 80 per cent of the deceased have died in the elderly. In the home service in Sörmland, more than 28 percent died outside the hospital walls, probably at home.

The figures for elderly residents are shameful, says Yngve Gustafson, professor of geriatrics (diseases of the elderly). He estimates that significantly more than ten percent should have received hospital care.

- More than half should receive hospital care. These numbers underscore how low we value our elderly, he says.

It is not obvious that a person who has died in an elderly home has been denied hospital care. The person may first have received hospital care, and later be brought back to the elderly housing when the care intervention is considered meaningless. But it must be rare, he says.

- Some elderly people receive medical care at the elderly home by the home care team, but neither can explain these figures.

The argument from the care and authorities is presented that the elderly should feel the best of dying at the elderly. That argument does not buy Yngve Gustafson. The hospitals have access to oxygen, nutrient drip, blood clot prevention, monitoring and treatment of complications. At the same time, oxygen is often denied in elderly care due to lack of resources. The newspaper's review has shown that the National Board of Health and Welfare has changed the national guidelines for oxygen for the most severely ill following pressure - in the midst of the crisis. Instead, morphine is recommended. Gustafson maintains that if people in a retirement home have access to basic care, it can be the difference between life and death.

- I'm sure that a large number of elderly people who are now dead in covid-19 would have survived if they received basic hospital care. Instead, the doctor decides too often - and too early - on palliative care.

The problem that the elderly do not receive hospital care is not new, says Yngve Gustafson. It began in connection with the noble reform in 1992, when the municipalities were given a total responsibility for the care of the elderly. Then the basic hospital care also disappeared from the elderly residents.

- The attention is due to the fact that covid-19 harvests so many more victims. It is a terrible situation, but it is good to be aware of it, he says.

The newspaper has unsuccessfully sought Anna Ormegard, Divisional Head of Primary Care in Region Sörmland, for a comment. Chief physician Marie Bennermo believes that if the elderly can receive the care they need in the elderly, they do not need to be taken to a hospital.

- It is true that it is often better for those patients to remain, she says.

Total amounts of deaths (people living in care homes) = 1777
Hospital deaths = 195
Total amount of deaths (people receiving home care) = 940
Hospital deaths = 666

Not really the same since those tested who had their test results given out were assured the results wouldn't be shared with anyone. The snitches simply failed to read/understand their information would be public and had the option to remain anonymous.

Ebola is an horrific way to go, but the way it behaves isn’t really a threat to the world at large. You need direct contact with infected fluids to transmit. You don’t need much contact, a tiny amount is enough, but it’s direct only, and it’s a fragile virus. So it tends to explode out of the wild, and run amok in places where (real examples) the local hospitals ‘sterilise’ syringes by shoving them in a bowl of warm water at the end of the day and are using the same syringe to give multiple shots. Or a rural birthing ward, or a third world hospital, or a group where buriaL requires washing of the body and manual waste Removal.

but... it kills fast, and because it requires that direct contact, quick quarantine works. I know we slag off the WHO on here but their responses and the African countries responses to the last few Ebola outbreaks were really professional and good by and large. They did well, and they contained it fast.
Ebola in its current form isn’t a threat to the west. Even if someone got on a plane and bled out on arrival and caused a small outbreak, it’s possible to quarantine. It’s a very scary virus, but it’s behaviour is it’s weakness.

COVID is respiratory, and that’s the key to its spread. The really contagious shit that causes huge pandemics needs to be able to get around. Breathing is one way. Water contamination is another. There aren’t many plagues that go worldwide via other routes.

Sars in 2002 was a near miss. It could have been really nasty but it was nowhere near as contagious as COVID. This coronavirus ticks all the boxes - respiratory, transmission via droplets, Many asymptomatic carriers (very few of them with ebola) it’s an absolutely perfect virus to get all around the world.
That explains it. I'm curious how social distancing would've been handled back in 2002, though I'd imagine it be worse since it's a year after 9/11. But for real, i know how scary covid 19 is. Hell i was scared when this was announced, it's just that after several weeks of this, i started wondering is this really helping?

Anyone that says people will die if we reopen wre the same people that doesn't get that keeping people home indefinitely is causing protests across the country. Who isn't to say full blown riots could happen eventually.

Absolutely right.

The imposition of one-size-fits-all statewide house arrests for an extended period is one of the stupidest things ever done in the USA. All that was needed was a couple of weeks' lockdown. Then you identify hot spots. Quarantine the hot spots and buffer zones, let everyone go live their lives, using reasonable precautions. Took me a few seconds to figure this out a while back. NONE of the governors who put their states under house arrest used that logical, health-based approach. Nil. Zero. Every governor went on a power trip. Every one. That should scare the living shit out of every American. Scares me, for sure. Given the opportunity, governors will always go straight to tyrant mode.

Let's look at the costs.
1. Economic - Loss of jobs. Hardships placed on millions of American men, women, and children. Not every person out of work qualified for unemployment. Savings accounts drained. Retirement accounts, if there, drained. Huge use of credit cards to purchase necessities. Enormous lines at food banks. Vehicles in danger of repossession. On and on.

2. Loss of tax revenue. When these "geniuses" went straight to tyrant mode, none of them apparently took into account tax revenues would drastically decrease at the state/county/city levels. Funny, I thought of that right off. Compared to the shitheads running most states, I must be a fucking Einstein. (sarcasm). Compounding matters is the poor financial condition of most of these states.

If you want some visibility into the financial conditions of the states, go here and look around.

https://www.data-z.org/

As an example, you can look at California, ruled by a complete retard.

The state of CA needs every tax dollar it can get, and that dunce went ahead and kept God knows how many people from working.

Observe the financial state of Illinois, ruled by a stupid peterweed. They are even worse off than CA.

Yet that fat fuck Pritzker has also kept people from working.

Take a look at New York City's finances, under the command of one of the dumbest motherfuckers on the planet.

The thought occurred to me that these governors may have considered the loss of tax revenues but figured Washington would bail them out. Fuck bailing them out. They'll get something but nowhere near what they want. I don't give a flying fuck.

3. Health-related. A number of people have died from causes that could have been treated if they'd gotten to the hospital. They didn't go due to the ChiCom Flu, or because they lost their insurance when they lost their jobs. X number of elderly people have died due to Cocksucker Cuomo's demand that ChiCom Flu elderly patients be placed in nursing homes, whether these homes could care for them or not. Their blood is on his hands. Last, but not least, there's been a wave of layoffs of doctors, nurses, and other health workers because people aren't going to the hospital. No patients, no money coming in.

4. The education of millions of Americans, from pre-school to graduate school, has been disrupted. Have heard so much babbling about home-schooling and online learning I could puke. Once again, nobody seems to have thought this shit out. I did. What the fuck? First, not all parents can home-school. They have to work, or they have educational limitations of their own. Can't teach a kid English composition if you can barely write yourself. Can't teach math if balancing your checkbook kicks your ass. Second, online learning is not appropriate for all grades and all subjects. I wouldn't let students in elementary school do online learning at all except as an enhancement to classroom instruction. You cannot teach basic reading, writing, and arithmetic online. NO. Remember that. School also performs a socializing function. This is where kids learn to get along together and work together. Very important in life.

5. The bond of trust many, if not most Americans have had in government and law enforcement, already shaky, has been shattered, possibly irreparably. There have been a number of cases where law enforcement and government have violated people's civil rights. The national level of anger is probably the highest it has ever been. Lots of lawsuits out there. The Attorney General has had to remind the states that the Constitution is still in force. This does not augur well for the next time a calamity hits. Once burned, twice shy. Many people may just ignore any directives from state/county/city government.

Folks, what we have before us is an object lesson as to what happens when a bunch of little Hitlers go on unchecked power trips. Look at what it has cost and will cost us. Believe we can fix most of the economic damage fairly quickly, but the medical, educational, and social damage will take much longer to fix, and to a certain extent isn't fixable at all. All because a bunch of power-hungry demons refused to use any common sense. Keep paying attention. Forewarned is forearmed.

Always seem to write a long thing, but I think about all these matters and apply seven decades' worth of broad-based experience. If anyone can prove me wrong on any of these, please do so. Sadly, believe I have called this one more right than I would like, if that makes sense. Makes me upset to see what's going on. Sure didn't have to be this way.

Im not saying it's exactly the same. I'm saying the leaking of the snitches dox are going to make people paranoid and distrustful. I wouldn't trust the government with a big list of "infected" even if it is never leaked to the public.

And, to be fair, you have the option to remain anonymous by not getting voluntarily tested. They're just going to tell you to stay home and get well if you test positive, so what's the point?

Keeping this one, to go with the snitch list from the St. Louis area. I trust that people are reading the list and getting right to "work", if you know what I mean. 👍

For the snitches and all the little Hitlers - 🖕

(Mr. and Mrs. Stalin, Joe is learning how to use smilies and emojis.) 🙂

Added: When you take a look at the two snitch lists, it's sickening to see just how many people have snitched. Reminds me of what life would be like in a totalitarian society, such as under the Nazis or the Communists. There were shitloads of people snitching. So here, a public service has been done in releasing these lists for all to see. Let the snitches get shamed.

More: The President has said the country's not going to close down should there be a second wave of the ChiCom Flu. He gets it. Hell, he's about the only one that's gotten it so far.

Lo and behold I got an email this morning saying my store will be reopening June 1st, and they're going to start calling employees back from furlough over the next 5 days. Not everyone, though. I have a feeling they're going to start with part timers and people who are closer to minimum wage to save money on payroll.

Everyone will be required to have a "wellness check" before starting work every day. Employees have to take their temperature at home and when arriving to work will be asked if they took their temperature, if it's below 100.4°F, if they have any symptoms of COVID, and if they've been exposed to anyone confirmed to have COVID. We're going by the honor system here, apparently. The company's providing 4 reusable masks that are required to be worn when working. We can't bring masks from home because they want "uniformity among associates".

Given the popular conspiracy theory that the Democrats extending out lockdowns to crash the economy and try to stick it to Trump, but I'm curious as to how many Democrat governors wanted to seriously have Covid be even worse so they could live out their personal post-apocalyptic fantasies of being an autocrat and having the literal power of life and death

These people are fucking sociopaths and extremely petty so I wouldn't put it past them.

It’s a job. Businesses sometimes don’t have a choice: in LA, the city will revoke business licenses of those who run afoul of the County’s quarantine idiocy. These mentally-challenged beings even require social distancing even when people are wearing masks. You can’t reason with bureaucrats. Corporations would never hit back but when you take away someone’s livelihood and they feel they have nothing to loose, that someone becomes extremely dangerous. The worst are the people that have never contemplate violence. Hope it doesn’t go that way but it’s unlikely that this will be avoided.

It would be awfully pessimistic of me to think that re-usable masks (The not so great cloth sort I'm guessing?) might to customers pass as something actually useful if they're "uniform" rather than a mix of different types and obviously homemade. Which would probably benefit from getting changed out on the regular. Apparently they're terrible once they get wet at all and that's something like <1hour.

I ought to go borrow Mom's old singer sometime and crank out a pile to have as better-than-nothings. (Yes, VERY :optimistic:) I'm thinking a dozen as the minimum really useful quantity for a day. Four seems "Look, We're doing something" (Something useless, But visible)

Perhaps this has more to do with massive unemployment and less to do with the coof?

Piles of people got an involuntary crash-course in actually cooking their own food. Plus a good chunk of time to get into the habit of it. Even if money wasn't a big factor restaurants might not see previous customer levels come back for a very long time.

I used to do bread occasionaly and that was nice, But now hotdog and burger buns are on the list of things I can do myself far better than I can buy if I bother to plan ahead a day.

It's definitely for the customer's peace of mind, and probably to help customers identify employees more easily. Before we closed we weren't even allowed to wear masks or gloves if we wanted to because it would "scare off customers". I'm sure I scared off a lot more customers when I was hacking up my lungs on the sales floor throughout February and March than I would have if I had a mask on.

I don't understand the purpose of gloves being required in certain departments. It's only the back of house where we mostly work amongst ourselves. I imagine it's so customers feel "safer" because we're the ones mostly handling merchandise before it goes out on the floor or gets shipped to their homes, but sales associates are going to be touching way more shit, card readers, registers and wrap stands, fitting rooms, and all the merchandise that gross grabby customers have fondled and tried on and coughed and sneezed on.
