Seriously if a show makes you uncomfortable or whatever, why watch it or think about it? Just ignore it.

That's been the million dollar question about SJWs for years.

When they don't like something they actively want to take it away from everyone that does.

Why are they that way? Well for starters I think it has a lot to do with the incredible levels of narcissism they have, the concept that the world does not revolve around them is utterly alien to them.

That and how shithead anime fan "elites" like Hope and Zac channel their frustrations into the SJW movement like how all of them do. Only instead of jealous girls who tried to slander and bully more attractive girls regardless of disposition or were entitled spoiled brats back in high school, Hope and Zac were often the anime fans who never stood up for themselves and their hobbies when they got made fun of, and instead blamed how everything went wrong because anime has "problematic elements" that got them wedgies and humiliation instead of popularity and getting respected and laid.

Because you know, how dare anime and nerdy things that inspire you to buckle down and be a man and stand up for what you believe in and treat you with entertaining and at times indulgent imaginary things be horrible. How dare such a medium do that. If it wasn't for anime just being anime, Zac would have gotten his dick sucked for being a "profound film critic his peers could be proud of" and for being "such a profound conniseur of anime taste" taken seriously to where he wouldn't have turned gay out of being rejected constantly by shitty vapid Californian women, and Hope could be praised as a famous shallow internet celebrity sensation for spouting shallow nothings about anime like the socipathic narcissist she is. It's so not the shitty aspects of one's social environment that must be vigilantly cleaned out with taking a stand and pointing out what is shitty and wrong, so much as it is all anime's fault. A medium that outright destroyed the credibility of censorship onto animation when it came into the USA and dared to show that it could do so much more than just children's shows and superheroes and glorified musicals with artistic merit and depth. Truly, anime must be changed because it has somehow denied Zac and Hope their greedy little self absorbed and selfish ambitions.

I 'memba back in my day, admitting you watched anime just got you called a loser or a fag, or told to stop watching cartoons and grow up and that was that. I 'memba the biggest slapfights between anime fans was whether or not you preferred the subbed or dubbed version.

It's just fucking ridiculous leftists have turned anime into a political agenda in the same way they've done with comics, tabletop games, ect...

Anime held out for the longest out of any nerd hobby, when stuff like Gamergate was going down anime was an oasis from all the political in fighting that was affecting everything else.

There were a few early rumbling (like the Prison School dub "Gamergate" line) but things mostly held steady until #KickVic happened, then like a swarm of bees out of a hive SJWs have descended demanding everything change to suit their tastes.

What's sad is the inevitability of it, it was literally only a matter of time, but it's least kind of incredible that it took until 2019 for all hell to break loose.

SJW's in the west had and still have much more limited influence on anime and manga than on any western nerd hobby. It's one of the few nerd hobbies SJW's can't subvert at the source. The most they can do is alter the dubs, but hating dubs is basically the mainstream opinion in the anime fandom. Then there's all the fan subbing and piracy. Corporate attempts to clamp down on it have been met with only limited success, and the more woke scolds infiltrate the medium, the more innovative fans will be about cutting out that middle man and getting and sharing shows without them.

It's true and thank goodness anime and manga has that firewall around it, but what we're really talking about is the anime and manga fandom in the west, which SJWs can easily ruin, if they haven't already.

I'm talking online communities like ANN, I've seen firsthand just how toxic online forums can get when Social Justice fuckery takes a hold.

Or conventions, the "party" days of anime cons in the 2000s are probably gone, now people will have to walk on eggshells afraid of being the next victim of the mob.

These are things that just a few years ago did not really affect the anime community much, while it doesn't matter that much at the end of the day, the most important thing is anime and manga itself, it still sucks when SJWs fuckheads take something and make it worse and I bemoan what anime fandom used to be.

I remember back around 2012 on GoGoAnime I saw advertisements claiming "Want to get paid to watch anime?", and it linked to ANN for like their hiring team or something, meaning you could get paid to write anime reviews. It was super tempting for me, in actuality, because I kinda wanted to try my hand at being a reviewer, more for text than on video since I really enjoy writing and I apparently have a way with words when I'm super passionate about something. But I thought it was really weird there were ads on these so-not-legal streaming sites, like it almost felt like a scam, so I didn't go through with it.

In hindsight, I totally dodged a bullet. But I doubt I was ever going to be considered hireable to them lol, and I would've turned it down in a heartbeat if I had to suck dick to even get a position.

A bunch of ANN people and his friends on Twitter were all talking about how you should check up on people in quarentine and how it can drive some people into this last night. I figured someone killed themselves but didn't know who until I saw the ANN article and then it all clicked.

I'm not surprised. I won't cheer or dance on his grave like he did for TotalBiscuit, but I'll just say I'm not surprised. The guy came off so damn bitter all the time and hateful of everything it seemed like he was stuck in a job and hobby he grew to hate and had so much resentment for the industry. I guess JesuOtaku leaving him was one of the breaking points and then he had to sit at home for a few months was the last straw.
