This thread's reminding me of the early days when Ralph's thread started to come around to him being a lolcow.

The obvious fans coming in, giving the thread topic an unreasonable amount of leeway, a ridiculous amount of favorable doubt, saying shit like "well he's always done this" to excuse the cowish behavior and antics, the whole thing.

It's what cements to me that he's only going to get worse, just as Ralph did. The parallels between when Ralph's thread "turned on him" (fucking lol) and Dax's current fall from grace are remarkable, though it seems he's going through the motions much faster than Ralph did.

It's interesting to me that there is a recognizable similarity to all the cows and like you said a pattern within their threads. It's always slow, with "there is nothing here" and "they aren't a cow" and then that small snowball rolling off the mountain turns into an avalanche of fun to mock.

a phenomena that rarely happens is people not continuing to pay for a Patreon, that's why charities do that reoccurring donations model, if you get someone to pay 83 cents a day, you can siphon off $300 a year. people forget to switch off reoccuring payments after doing it long enough. It wasn't hard to find Marie's full name and picture all along if you were a fan. The timeframe in which Maddox dated her lines up with around when he published Crappy Children's Art, so just go find that book and check the acknowledgements, get her full name, slap that shit straight into Google and you'd find that same picture that everyone's been reposting (and that's on the foot in my avatar). I think I saw her for the first time about 3-4 years ago and didn't give a shit because Dick wasn't acting up yet. Or if you have access to Maddox's social media stuff, there are pics of her with Maddox at some convention from around that same time period.

I'm still listening to the show weekly too, though it's so clear it's running out of gas. The #1 problem with the show is the peanut gallery from the Discord that absolutely nobody, and I mean nobody outside of that group gives a flying fuck about. It really hit a crescendo when the MintSalad shit started happening, and Dick oddly defended it. I think it's safe to say that if you're closer to Dick's age (39) than Mint's (19), it's pretty damn creepy to care at all about her sex life. Half your age plus 7, motherfuckers!

And now it's cascaded down to... whatever this is. I'm sure Corona-chan's reign hasn't helped Dick's sanity, but it was tumbling downhill anyway.

In all honesty, I think a lot of this chaos comes from how Dick's turning 40 this year. He's just five short months away from the big 4-0. An age where you can't even try to say you're not yet middle-aged.
