He's not quite saying that his parents waking him up made him wish he were dead. He's saying that he was suicidal whenever conscious as a teenager, so he hated that his parents woke him up when he didn't have responsibilities he needed to be awake for because it just resulted in more time experiencing suicidality.His parent waking him up made him wish he was dead:
In general, chronic suicidality like that is cause for sympathy. But it's Zach and also I don't believe him. In any case, a child suicidal to such an extent should probably be in intensive treatment. Being woken up is the least of that kid's concerns.

Yeah this is how every workshy I know is responding to the pandemic.
They're all locked up at home and demanding the government issue checks through summer 2021. It's the ultimate excuse, you get to look like you're protecting the disabled and elderly and saying "fuck capitalism" while starting up a do-nothing patreon to get assistance from the friends you have who are going out into the world to work.
I feel bad for Heather's kids, because Zach is definitely planning to keep them in that house where the sewage backs up all the time for at least 6-8 months. Unless, I guess, they send the 18 year old off to go get a job and help support the family since step"mommy" is too afraid of working.
It will really figure if Heather ends up with one of her children doing more to support her than Zach ever has done.

I was reading an article a couple months ago about what drugs are considered "essential," since ingredients for most of our pharmaceuticals come from, you guessed it, China. (When asked if we could trade with world pooper power India, their response was "fuck you, get your own.")
If you have something like epilepsy, you SHOULD be okay. But the powers that be have been very (intentionally) vague about whether or not psych drugs are counted among "essential, life-saving medication."

I think he'd be a lot fucking fatter already if they could afford that much food, but at least for awhile we're going to see even Heather losing some weight- those finances are strained to the breaking point, and her kids are hitting that age where they're basically locusts. But don't worry, we probably don't have that long to wait for Zach to balloon up.
Penny's gone, so he has absolutely zero motivation to try to stay thin- you could see how grossed out Penny was when Zach got fat before. He's posted that his idea of lunch is 600 calories of mostly sugar and saturated fat, and he loves the MSG shaker when he's "cooking", so he's already got the deathfat palate. His dick doesn't work anymore and if he's been taking HRT, he's going to lose ANY ability to crank one out with his prostate before too long.
Face-stuffing is a little more expensive and a little less rewarding than ass-stuffing at the moment, that's all, the second that ol' marginal utility per dollar shifts... they're one additional income stream away from Zach gorging himself into Baron Harkonnen. He'll manage it at a truly impressive rate, too, probably 100 lbs inside a few years.

It's the totalitarian ideal. I can easily picture ZJ denouncing neighbors at a public meeting "Cultural Revolution" style, but first I have to suspend disbelief that a regime of that type would even tolerate ZJ (let alone making ZJ a cadre).

Radical leftist groups are different, but they are rather "wholesome" (pro-family and pro-community) in significant regards. The Black Panthers for example stood for traditional gender roles. While more women joined the Panthers and they became more egalitarian, women Panthers were protectors of their children, homes, and communities. While women and men were considered equal, they were considered suited for different gender roles.
Stalin, as @Baloney Face said, promoted motherhood and the family unit. He also made it illegal to be gay, made abortions and divorce harder, and put extra taxes on childless families. The USSR wanted to engineer families on more radical lines earlier in its history but became more traditionalist over time.
Radical leftist indigenous groups, like most indigenous activists, heavily emphasize protecting their heritage, families, and traditional communities. Indigenous people's perspectives on gender roles and the family are as diverse as the people themselves, but regardless the family and community are deeply important even to the leftists.
Of course, several leftists like Mao wanted to destroy the traditional family outright. However, Mao criminalized homosexuality and even now China does not let gay couples adopt children and gives little rights to intersex people. So while communist China was not wholesome in its treatment of the family it was hardly accepting of "alternative" lifestyles either.
Bottom line, not many vanguard parties would like Zinnia very much. They would regard her as a self-serving and parasitic person who threatens community and party solidarity if not as an outright degenerate warranting imprisonment.

Late but I just want to point out this photo of Zinnia and Penny wearing the same swimsuit bottoms. I really doubt Zack's "womanly curves" make Penny's clothes flattering. Penny sort of passes in this pic, whereas ZJ looks like an adult who is trying to squeeze into a child's clothing because he lost a bet or something.
