Because the fire fighters are not armed. In order to do their job safely they need to not be in a position to be shot.

America has experience with race riots sadly. When it gets to this point the police form a cordon and keep black people out of white neighborhoods and wait for them to finish burning down their own neighborhood. Usually with the dawn when they see the local corner store is a shattered shell and the irate barber of the barbershop is demanding to know how his business is going to recover with it burned out, they wise up and settle down.

This is standard procedure and has been so for over a century. When a race riot happens you contain it and wait for them to realize they are beating up on their own.

That said though fuck the Minneapolis PD. And fuck their idiot mayor.

Rioters loot and set their own commercial centers on fire.

Sounds like they want that shit to be on fire to me, if Target, Walgreens and the Dollar Store decide not to rebuild..I call that cause and effect.
