You'd be correct if not for the fact that the odds of death vary significantly by who lives in the area that police supervise. If a cop in majority white city had the same chance of death as one in a majority black city then yes we could say that the risk of death comes with the job. But that's not the case. There is absolutely no justification to allow good people who want to uphold the law and decent society to be killed by those who want the exact opposite. Those people shouldn't have protection or rights. Not shooting at police is not a hard standard to meet.

if you take away their rights then there's precedent for taking away yours as well lol

The precedent has always existed. It's called force. It never went away it can never be banished. If you think your rights will stay forever as the world continues to change, you're in for a rude awakening.

the Founding Fathers were aware of this and that is why they put the second amendment into the bill of rights in the first place, so that we can safeguard our rights and fight back against those who want to take them away
