EU Anti-Semitic crime in Germany hits highest level - in nearly two decades

Germany's interior secretary on Wednesday said anti-Semitic crimes in the country are increasing and reached their highest levels in 2019 since the country began recording them in 2001.

Interior Minister Horst Seehofer called the rise in anti-Semitic crimes a "great concern," according to a report by ABC.

Data collected by the government shows that politically-motivated crimes overall were up 14.2 percent last year compared to data from 2018, which is the second-highest level on record.

Crimes committed by the extreme left increased 23.7 percent to 9,849 cases, but the extreme right did the most politically motivated crimes, totaling 22,342 cases and an increase of 9.4 percent last year.

"The largest threat, as in the past, is the threat from the right," Seehofer said. "Extreme-right politically motivated cases make up more than half of all of such recorded crimes — it is an order of magnitude that causes us concern, great concern."

Anti-Semitic crimes were reportedly up 13 percent last year to 2,032 cases, with more than 93 percent of perpetrators associated with the far right. Crimes against Muslims rose 4.4 percent to 950 cases, and over 90 percent of those perpetrators also had extreme right ties.

Seehofer said far-right extremists left a "trail of blood" throughout Germany in more recent years, referencing the synagogue attack in Halle last year that resulted in two people killed in the street, along with a more recent attack in February which ended in nine people of foreign backgrounds killed in the Frankfurt suburb of Hanau.

He also said the country's domestic intelligence last year increased surveillance of the Alternative for Germany party, focusing attention on its youth arm along with a faction known as "The Wing," which has a history of downplaying the country's Nazi past, according to the report.

Germany's intelligence is also closely monitoring followers of the Reich Citizens movement, which rejects current German state order and has an overlap with right-wing extremist groups, Seehofer said.

On Wednesday, authorities raided over two dozen homes with ties to 31 suspected members of the movement, who are believed to be involved with forged licenses, citizen certificates and passports, according to prosecutors in Stuttgart and Karlsruhe.

Seehofer said officials had been revoking firearm permits from Reich Citizens since 2016, revoking a total of 790 in the past four years, including 380 last year.

First, I suspect that Germany has very lax requirements for anti-semitic crimes. Secondly, these people are well known around the world for faking anti-semitism for personal gain.
I don't doubt it's actually happening across Europe. I happen to know that Jews are leaving Amsterdam in droves because of certain demographics, at least.

Wir schaffen das!

Supresing the Goyim for Profit and Privilege ?
Wir schaffen das ! *rubs hands*
Imprisoning any resistance, taking their children away and ensuring they get fired from jobs and end on street?

Thirdly, I guess some percentage of the crime is real and done mostly by the lovely immigrants.
I recall reading how most yeshivas and other, less religious, but still Joo-ish schools had to hire armed guards all over Western Europe.
I don't doubt it's actually happening across Europe. I happen to know that Trump's Chosen People are leaving Amsterdam in droves because of certain demographics, at least.
AFAIK a great number already left France and Swedistan. Not sure about Germany, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same.

We got a proper exodus going here, and I don't blame them.

A while back a city here held a memorial for the night of broken glass, and the jewish community was not invited for "their own safety".
Safety from whom, you might ask? Since the pesky racist white men was not mentioned once in regards to the decision, I will simply leave it to your imagination.

"Hey golem, behave. ... GOLEM, behave! ... ... No golem, no! You anti-semite! I made you! You wouldn't be anything without me! I own everything; you own nothing- no golem not that! I poop from there!"
No seriously what were the real attacks? Did a bunch of krauts just not pay their extravagant mortgages, rents and college loans because reasons?

nooooo? your tellin me allowing en masse sand niggas who arent the biggest fans of the chosen people are then committing acts against them? who could have foreseen such things?

? you might have missed it, but it's not Arabs who are committing the crimes, but right-wing Germans. Those are usually anti-immigrant and would hardly include Arabs if you are trying to say "Arabs did it" but I didn't really understand :-)

@WeWuzFinns regarding lax German reporting of antisemitic crimes - I also have no idea where the statistic came from and what is included (reports? sentences by a judge?). A few weeks ago Deutsche Welle (let's call it official international radio) said:

"A documentary broadcast on Monday by German public broadcaster ZDF estimated that only 8% of 2,558 attacks on asylum-seekers' hostels between 2015 and 2018 resulted in perpetrators actually being convicted, fined or jailed." (yes, I know, "asylum-seekers" is not Chosen Ones but the point here is that many things happen which result in nothing).

Synagogues in Germany now have police in front of them. btw "police in front of them" goes from 1-2 policemen walking around to policemen with submachine guns.

@Boris Blank's glass eye:

excluding a few cities in western Germany, there are not relatively not many Jews in Germany (total population of Germany about 85 million):

was about 20,000 up to 1991, then with the reunification there was a steady influx of Jews from the former Soviet Union (i.e. not religious but the documents show 1 grandparent from Germany) and it kept going up reaching a peak of 100,000 in more or less 2005 then steadily down but not especially since the refugees were allowed in a couple of years ago:

about France and Sweden maybe check the statistics and let us know? no disrespect here but imho better to check the sources to be sure :-) I know Israel makes a lot of propaganda to get Europeans to live in Israel because Europe is meant to be awful etc. but imho it's better to check sources and not take things at face value :-)

@Drifting Panzer:

source for the "mass exodus" you mentioned? statistics show otherwise.

"A city cancelled its celebrations" for Kristallnacht doesn't mean it was against Arabs and many, many cities didn't cancel anything. There are too many to show, search for "pogromnacht judischen gemeinde"

I also searched in English and German for crimes committed by immigrants / arabs against chosen ones in Germany in 2019, couldn't find a single one, but maybe you have a source? :-)

making things up out of thin air make one's arguments silly imho but just a suggestion

In some countries anti-semitic crimes without obvious perpetrators are automatically assumed to have been committed by the right. Whether that is the case in Germany, I don't know, but it's something that would need to be checked before we can jump to the conclusion Germans have decided mass brown people migration means they should go out and smash up synagogues.

What ever made them connect the two?
