Granted my only knowledge of Maclom X was the Spike Lee film (and I read a little of the biography in high school), but I don't remember him demanding that his followers loot and be violent.

He was pretty much right on the black separatism question too. Malcolm X correctly deduced that as long as blacks remained in white society they would have an excuse not to change or improve. His solution was a breakaway state, which is kind of a pipe dream, but he understood the problem at least.

It's been one forever. What would become Liberia was first conceived by Lincoln during the Civil War as a place to send all the blacks after the war ended so nobody had to deal with them. White separatists and black separatists have the same goal: not living together anymore.

You know, I would love to see what it would be like with these people in charge of their own country for a year and what the results will be once it was over.
It would be a Utopia as in most Utopian novels ie shit, people would starve due to their no need to work ideals, crime would be rife with no police just total hell. Though to be honest they would have some form of Stazi very quickly and give it a new brand name then put down/crush all that disagreed with them. After all the Commie Utopias they all love kept the population in check by brutal measures.
