Twitter is unironically supporting local businesses being torn down by criminals.

How would they feel if it was THEIR livelihood down in flames?
Idk this is pretty funny

(Video description bc I can't archive: a planet fitness lies in ruins but for one white male using an exercise machine while another white male takes pictures)

ive seen so many people saying not supporting looting is the same as choking out that black dude and man im tired

What kind of idiotic mental gymnastics display is that? When did people start equating not supporting something to being in support of that things opposition?

It's like the currency of our time is logical fallacies and everyone's playing Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

And then it’ll also be white ppls fault when they don’t want to invest in urban areas that have a higher chance of being burnt down due to race riots

here is picture from live map showing what is going on right now at the second shopping mall being targeted east of. the first one

dumb question
they're either on welfare, sitting on a trust fund, or work for an entity that is too big to be seriously affected by something like this (government, multinational corporations, big NGOs, universities, etc)

How many small business owners are on twitter?
Fact is most people on twitter are employed by a big multinational corporation, if they're employed at all. They've only ever worked for other people. And anybody that's thought for a moment will just assume insurance covers this. As though, you're an idiot for thinking a crowd of rioters won't destroy your livelihood at some stage.

Well, destroying your neighborhood and driving out all local businesses sure is a great way to stick it to whitey/the popo/big corporations/Trump/christians/insert generally maligned group here.

Any bullshit excuse to steal a flatscreen tv and some new sneakers, while the white middle classes applaud their "bravery" on twitter (as long as it's not happening in their neighborhood).

Patrick Casey was giving some literally retarded takes on live stream a little while back, talking about how this "wasn't a big deal" compared to the size of Ferguson and Cincinnati riots. Maybe it's just me, but I have never seen this level of public support for looting and illegalism before. I think quibbling about dollar damages and casualty figures is missing the forest for the trees, even if the destruction in this incident doesn't become as extensive as I think it will become. What matters is that there is public sanction for uprising, even if it is a very opportunistic and unfocused type of uprising. That has the potential to develop in interesting directions.
In a sense, this is quite exhilarating to watch, because I really do think that we are continuing to see more and more confirmation of Turchin's hypotheses.
I still believe that the 2020s will be the most momentous decade since the 1960s.
