courted public unrest and the city as a natural result gone up in flames. looting is ethically wrong, but besides that it screams to average citizen that police interests are above the duty to protect. the police asked for this, and got it and as a result more people are being indirectly harmed by their arrogance. how much damage has been caused? how many business owners possibly bankrupt? and all because the cops didn't want to own they done fucked up. im not supporting the looters but everyone here remembers what happened in prior instances youd be an idiot to not think it was gonna go another way.

What these events show is that the USA is slowly descending into lawlessness and tribalism. On the one hand, you have law enforcement who are largely unaccountable and who kill unarmed citizens with near-impunity, while on the other hand, you have so much urban decay and social breakdown in the communities most effected that riots and looting are always soon to follow.
To make matters even worse, the country is so bitterly divided along ideological lines that nobody can see the forest for the trees, and thus, nothing will ever be done to rectify the situation. It's truly sad, but it looks to me like things will only get worse from here.
