Okay, I wake up to 169 notifications and find out that the mayor gives a non answer to the riots happening.
I'm dumbfounded.
Since everybody is playing the race card, let me ask you something? What exactly is being accomplished with this whole ordeal? Do Whites just like to see the world burn?
That response from the mayor was one of the most spineless, timid acts of leadership I've ever heard. Your city, which you're one of them in charge, is on fire and the most you can muster up is "just brick and mortar?"
News flash. People worked at those buildings. Those buildings provided services to the community. Their livelihoods may be at stake. And if they DO get a massive insurance payoff, they'll take that money and go somewhere where their business may be respectful.
Less businesses means less opportunity for employment, money and self worth. The city will crumble under the ashes through social economic despair because it's not worth starting up anything there.
Way to make local businesses feel worthless while rioters run amuck.
To the people on Twitter and elsewhere condoning these rioters in the name of "revolution", FUCK YOU. You're sitting cozy in your little safe space while actual people are recording this mayhem, putting their lives at risk because nobody else will showcase the raw reality in fear of getting their "feelings hurt."
To the Minneapolis Police Department and the LEO brown nosers, screw you as well. Your hiring process is beyond fucked up. You let an officer literally knee a guy to death over $10 or $20 with an history of violent behavior, yet have the nerve to say you can't find any wrong doing.
I don't understand the sheer defense of law enforcement. Cops have protocol that they're supposed to follow. They're supposed to protect and serve, not be power hungry bullies that get a rise off overpowering people.
Also, while there's rioting going on, you arrest a pawn shop owner that is protecting his property but let the actual criminals around you go free? I hate that about the criminal justice system: you try to protect yourself and your property, the cops and system will make YOUR life difficult no matter how justified it appears to be. Yet murderers, pedophiles, and looters are granted amnesty or a slap in the wrist, only to have the same thing happen again.
The peaceful protesters and medical tents around, I'm very sorry that your message is being silenced by the ruffians and looters pillaging everything within a four block raidus. I respect the right to free assembly and peaceful protesting. You're doing a great service out there amidst civil unrest. Same with the civilian live streamers. Document this so people can see the raw destruction that the city is letting unfold in front of them.
To the looters and violent protesters out there, they don't give a fuck about anyone but themselves. Way to mock a person's wrongful death. Tear down a city and property that had NOTHING to do with it.
And you know what's going to happen afterwards? Either an anarchist, lawless state where there IS no police OR a police state where everybody is monitored and looked under a microscope.
Worse of all, you encourage the sterotype that Black people seem unhinged, therefore MORE policing in poorer communities. And I love how they're paid protesters, plants inside to cause ruckus.
You're working against your own interests and community by acting like animals. And sooner or later, those welfare programs will end. Then what? Play the blame card
I'm personally offended of the state of Minneapolis. 50+ years of rioting and we've learned NOTHING. You know this is going to encourage politicans of ANY PARTY to double down on their bullshit because we can't be trusted to manage a community.
