Twitter Hides POTUS Tweet

Trump's allowed to be racist, sexist, downright ignorant on the Internet while many of his supporters eat it up and supplement it with conspiracy, memes, biased news and ignorance.

You think Trump cares about you who shitposts on the Internet in his name? Look at what he did to Ben Garrison, he invited him to the White House, declined his invitation because of his comics, BUT HE WAS ALLOWED TO ATTEND THE AFTERPARTY!

You feed his ego by attending his rallies, reposting his tweets, acting belligerent and racist online against anybody who has a different opinion. Then act surprised when he casts you off to the side. He's only doing this because HE'S directly affected by this.

But keep shouting MAGA, keep making the anti Semitic remarks, keep living in the echo chamber of "anti-SJW" disguised as outright hatred.

He's not a "President", he's an arrogant buffoon that thrives off of the vitriol and hatred that has plagued American society for decades. And everybody is feeding him.
lol calm down

You're acting just like the TDS'ers, pulling out "muh racist, sexist", yada, yada, yada. Peak doomposting.

I'm gonna stick my dick in this EasyMac. Repeal that Trump :smug:

@Null, I remember telling you this back in September 2019, and I repeat it now.
You aren't even 30, you got a lot of new life to see and do. This site is cool, but don't let it keep you down if you got other ideas and projects for your life.
You are a very determined and talented young man and you always reach your goals when you put your mind to it. I do believe you have the resources, time and intellect to successfully enbark in whatever new venture you have your mind. on.
Things have a beginning and an end in life, and this site is no exception.
It was fun, and I think that whoever hasn't been a complete sped on here will regret the time spent here, but life is also moving on.
If the repeal passes or you wish to close the site for whatever other reasons you see fit, I'm sure we are all ready to support you and thank you for the hours and years of laughs under lucricities you offered us by hosting this platform.
Thank you, Null.
Fuck that. I like this site and I like shitposting here. It's too late for him anyways. Jesus Jersh has already died (socially) for our sins to give us the ability to shitpost.

Wasn't the first amendment literally about the government not being allowed to censor people (and call it what you want, but holding corporations liable for the statements of others on their platform is absolutely a way to force censorship in a roundabout way)? Twitter can decide to censor you regardless since they aren't a governmental body, of course, but now they're going to double the fuck down on that shit if it means they can get sued for letting people say no-no words on their website.

So... what is the solution to Twitter, Facebook, Google, Gmail, Google News, Reddit, Youtube, etc all directly using tech to fuck with one side and prop up the other?

Yeah, nuking section 230 is stupid as fuck. But Twitter is definitely editorializing. Google is definitely editorializing. Is a combination of declaring that algorithmic fuckery is editorializing + the government actually enforcing some of this shit the answer?

To this day you can find child porn (posted by Arabic accounts which are untouchable) on Twitter, Reddit, and Facebook. If you wanted to destroy social media, do what CNET did to Download.com and start asking hard questions about the child porn posted to the sites and the lack of any moderation of the porn uploads.

I'd LOVE to see Jack get arrested after losing section 230 protections, even if they couldn't make it stick.

Didn't FOSTA / SESTA already make Jack liable for this sorta shit?

Why is it never possible to get a level response from the majority of you all. No, you shouldnt call defcon 1 at the mere mention of something. lts just a good way to give yourself a lot of unneeded grey hair. On the other hand, just saying "hehehe he is just pretending to be a retard like always guys" is a good way to get a fast one pulled over on you for being the complacent sped you are. Shape up.
I did like how many posts ago. but most of trumps threats are half assed. and I highly doubt big tech wouldn't even let the government have that kind of power if it cuts into profits.l especially when it's literally hitler supporting internet censorship.

Yes, then repealing 230 would be a good way to fucking get rid of them. We go back to the old days when these stupid groups didn't have power.

But no gay furry and white supremascist don't want that because "MUH FREE SPEECH" and blah blah shut the fuck up you hypocritical pieces of shit.
What the fuck are you guys talking about the "old days"? Section 230 has been around since the start of modern internet you tech illiterate retard.

Twitter is now by all accounts a goverment entity thanks to the tinny little trump cant block people controversy
But hey, you didnt hear it from me

If the Government outsources services to a company, that company is REQUIRED to uphold the same rights you have that the Government must uphold. Marsh v. Alabama. Although sadly I think they fucked Marsh v. Alabama into the ground in later rulings?

Twitter was found to be a public space, thanks to a New York Judge with TDS doing a colossal stretch to stop ORANGE MAN BAD from blocking the Shareblue bots that flood his replies every single day. Thus, Twitter is required to uphold the 1st Amendment.

Note that this is almost as big of a stretch, but if Trump REALLY wanted to fuck with them, he could probably find someone in his administration he could send after Twatter with this sort of legal theory in mind.

Ok, complacent individual.

Clarifying what actions are incompatible with claiming 230(c) legal protections = a good thing
Seeing if twitter's banning behavior violates a 2017 Supreme Court decision = a good thing
Repealing 230 outright = a bad thing.

Revisit the story when the FCC and FTC have fielded their proposals in response to Trump's order. Any panicking or associated wailing and gnashing of teeth at this point is just participating in the same manufactured panic the media and their allies trigger any time the government looks askance at social media firms whenever a new scandal arises from their misconduct. None of the legal actions taken thus far threaten this website. Trump's incontinent blathering on twitter isn't legal action.

I remember Null once saying that as libertarian minded solutions to all this gay leftist authoritarian policies become less likely to succeed because GOP keep cosigning it, that he is pushed closer and closer to just saying fuck freedom give me fascism. I wonder @Null , can we bring out the Moonman Squads yet or are we still hoping for Amerisharts to embrace Liberalistism?
No, it's over. This has proven to me beyond a shadow of a doubt that the American population can only think in terms of what the Govenrment can do for them. Everything must be handled by a Government apparatus and when Section 230 is inevitably destroyed (if not now, soon) it will be replaced by a subcommittee within the FCC, because look at how good the FCC was for television and film.
