Seeing Dallas getting smashed in like this hurts me. We don't have the best police force in the world, but I think we did pretty well with that whole Amber Guyger case. Shit, we're the city that had to turn a bomb-defusing robot into a bomb because some jogger had a jog-out and shot a bunch of police over Ferguson. I feel like the only reason this looting isn't worse is because we're fucking wary of that shit since then. Sorry for constantly spamming the board with this, it's just hard to sleep knowing there's a chimp-out ten minutes down the road.

Like I said earlier, this is part of where California cops are not fucking around. Yeah, they'll let you go the next morning, but they don't even have to really press charges; a night in a holding cell is enough for most people to go from "jumping up and down on a cop car" mode to "I need to call my mom" mode. Cut the adrenaline supply and let people think about their shit overnight and you cut down on the number of repeat customers.

Willing to bet it's a handful of vets; everyone else is green as fresh grass. Never had a walk through a mout town, and fire their weapon once a year during their two-week drill. I'd worry for the women, everyone else is dead.

dallas took the term "I want a firetruck that shoots fire" seriously and made a bomb defusing robot into a jogger defusing robot.

now THAT shit is based, and pretty smart, and pretty fuckin frightening when you think about the long term ramifications of using robots to kill

Not to go TOO far off topic here, but the bot was still steered by a human. It's basically just a guided missile, except traveling far, far slower. And holding a cell-phone.
