I find it very interesting that we have not heard much news of civil disobedience from Hong Kong in all this. It's like China is trying to style themselves as the civilized nation while everyone else falls into chaos.

I don't think getting habeaus corpus suspended to send in the army will be a simple thing. But the chinks are too smart for that so they didn't; they opted to leave it alone instead.

Depends on the force. Some have pepper balls for shooting out of paintball guns. Some have bean bag shotgun rounds. Others use bean bag or rubber bullet rounds out of the 37mm/40mm grenade launchers they use for smoke and CS. There is a large variety of less than lethal.
