I'm chalking this up to you just not knowing how a choke works. In a choke hold, you do not actually asphyxiate the person, what you do is cut off the supply of blood to the brain. What the officer was doing is a pretty basic choke, it twists the head straining carotid arteries, combined with the knee depressing the side of the neck, it cut off blood flow. Floyd was capable of breathing, that is why he could talk. But the oxygen could not travel to the brain.

His underlying health conditions and possible history of substance abuse is irrelevant to the fact that he died due to being in a choke hold for too long.

What nobody in the MSM seems to note is that a majority of these "protestors" are all twentysomething/college aged white kids, likely from affluent neighborhoods, and they're the ones doing the majority of the destruction and looting. The big irony is that the whites are doing even more harm than good to the cause they supposedly support, if not completely undermining it by acting like Godzilla let loose on Tokyo.

In my state, the part of town where most of the blacks live? They peacefully protested outside their local PD. No violence, no rioting, nothing: they stood outside with signs and did things peacefully. In the parts of town predominantly white and/or affluent? College-aged white kids breaking windows and destroying businesses that are teetering on the edge after being hit hard by the Coronavirus.
